Maybe diffrent editions?
"Your family was involved in some disaster, a scandal that haunts them
still. Good options include spawning a bastard, incest, failed conspira-
cies, and so on. In the case of your first roll, the scandal created your
family as a way of covering up the crime."
roll 1d6 for eaxh influence, lands and power.

Quite possibly, I'll take Scandal over Doom though, so no complaints here.
Influence: 25-02fw2Z|V1d6=22 Lands: 18-1d6=17 Power: 33-1d6=29
Maybe a Lord married a small folk out of love, and to avoid a scandal the Lord's mother raised the smallfolk up to a Noble Household by 'discovering' ancient lineage (ie. have the Maester's change the records) or something like that. Thoughts?

The GOT edition was the last edition released and altered some of the tables. It’s a good idea to use that edition since it included errata and some minor rule fixes.

Alright, one final manipulation of the stats- each player get to add 1d6 to a stat she or he wish.

Looking at the current values of our House stats, I would suggest adding at least 1d6 each to Influence, Lands, Law, and Wealth.
Influence 22 is enough to enable Status 4 for our Lord, but all stats can be lowered due to House Fortunes rolls, so it's useful to pad this stat a bit.
Lands 17 can get us two domains (terrain type+optional features), which is fairly typical. We could also afford a single island domain. This isn't bad, but if we want some of the more profitable Wealth holdings, such as mines or a port, we need more expensive terrain types and features. Padding Lands can thus give us more choice in Wealth holdings, or just give us more interesting and varied lands.
Law 30 gives us a -2 penalty to our House Fortunes rolls. As a rule, rolling high is good, and it only takes Law 31 to reduce that penalty to -1. I.e. boosting Law is a sure bet when it comes to improving our House Fortunes rolls.
Wealth 27 isn't bad at all. We can afford a couple of holdings and still have some left over to spend on emergencies or to upgrade our soldiers equipment. Having more Wealth is never a bad idea, though, so adding +1d6 is a good investment.
If we get multiple domains, adding 1d6 to Defence is also a decent idea. Our current Defence of 28 is sufficient to buy a Hall. A Small Castle is a good boost in defensive terms and costs 30 Defence. A Tower, the least form of fortification, costs 10, and it can be useful to have defensive fortifications in more than one domain.
Population 26 nets us a +1 bonus to House Fortunes. The next step up is a +3 bonus at 31, so adding +1d6 is an uncertain investment - ideally we need +2d6 to maximize our chances.
Power 29 is sufficient for a fairly varied military. Two experienced or three highly experience units are possible. Having more Power is never a bad idea, though, so if we end up with a d6 to spare, I suggest adding one here.
I'll put my 1d6 into Lands: dPRXxU_n1d6 = 21 total 1d6

Greetings. I took the liberty of adding you to the group, so you should have posting access in the sub-forum for this game now.
