"I...Well, I suppose I thought that you already knew about it," Ladonna says. "Since you knew about the incident in the first place. If I had known that you didn't know, then I would have mentioned it much earlier."

"No, I have no knowledge of the timeline you came from," Fannah points out. "From my perspective, you came from the future, and we then sent you back to it. This is the only timeline I've ever known. If things have really strayed from the path as much as you claim, you should definitely speak to Sadduce Sern. She is far more knowledgeable about such things than I am."

Ladonna nods her head to the Sadduce. "I apologize for not mentioning it sooner," Ladonna says before she looks over to Lillian. "I think my friend here had something to say to you. I'll let her do that while I seek out Sadduce Sern. Thank you for your help."

When Ladonna steps out of the bubble, she can no longer hear anything Lillian or Winters say, but the ambient sounds of the ball are suddenly audible again. It's a tad disorienting. Moving on, she searches for the Serns. She's never met the Sadduce, but she knows Quill and Norris well enough. She finds them together, with an older woman that must be the Sadduce. Quill is dressed in flashy looking blue robes with an elaborate headpiece. Norris, on the other hand, is wearing silken white robes with gold trim. The woman with them is not someone Ladonna has ever seen before. She's an older woman, around Quill's age, with greying hair. She wears stern eyeglasses, much like Winters, and is dressed in a similar outfit as her, forest green vestments with brass trim. Upon noticing her, Quill gestures for her to join them. "Ahh, Ser Marche. Goodness, look how lovely you are tonight." He laughs. "Perhaps we should be looking into setting her up with Norris? He could certainly do worse!" Norris makes a face that makes it clear what he thinks of that idea. "Marche?" the old woman asks. "Ah, yes. I was hoping to speak with you. I am Sadduce Voltera Sern."

Ladonna laughs lightly at Quill as he appears to be in a rather good mood, and glances at Norris just to see his reaction which only makes her laugh a little harder. "From the look on your son's face, Chancellor Sern, I don't think he likes that idea," she says. "But I do thank you," she adds before looking to Voltera. "It is a pleasure to finally meet you, Sadduce Sern. I had heard from Sadduce Winters that you wished to speak with me. Would you care to have that chat now? I have some time. Providing that your son and husband don't mind, that is."

"Oh, certainly," Voltera says. "Don't worry about my dear husband. He once managed to keep a trio of ogres distracted with that silver tongue of his, I'm sure he can handle my absence for a few breaths."
Quill chuckles. "Please, don't remind me. That was a terrible experience. Completely out of spells, no armor. It was all I could do to keep them from grinding me into jelly."
Voltera leads Ladonna a bit off to the side, then does exactly what Fannah did, casting the same spell that creates a bubble of silence around them. Once secure, she says, "Now, if you don't mind, I have a few questions for you. You see, after the incident with you and your friends 20 years ago, the church realized that the sacred path of Gonto could be disrupted by those with the means to alter time itself. So my order, the Order of Historians, was created. Never heard of them? Of course, we operate in complete secrecy. Our job is to protect the sacred path and make sure no further alterations occur. Therefore, I was hoping you could tell me of any differences in this new timeline from the old one, and any rippling effects they have had."

"Just the thing I wanted to talk to you about," Ladonna admits. "I would have mentioned it earlier, but O thought it was know. My relationship with my father...or rather with my whole family is different. My mother left my father, leaving me and my father alone. As a result, my sister wasn't born. My life was drastically different as result. As for rippling affects, I haven't really noticed...well maybe Liala. I don't remember them being so impatient about her getting married. It might have effected Ingot too."

"Oh, dear, that sounds distressing," Voltera says. She pulls out a clipboard with a piece of parchment on it, and pulling out a thin piece of charcoal of some kind, begins jotting down notes. "So you are saying in the original timeline, your parents were still married and had a second child? And Liala, that's also one of the people who was sent through time, correct? I should speak to her, as well, then. Is she here tonight?"

"I hadn't seen her yet, but I know that she is here somewhere " Ladonna says. "But ai assume there isn't anything that can be done now. Is there any way for me to learn about what this Ladonna was like before I....took over?"

"Alright, excellent, I'll speak with her when I find her," Voltera says, jotting down more notes. She looks up a moment. "Hmm? Well, not strictly speaking. I mean, the only way to truly fix the timeline would be to time travel again, and that's what caused the problem in the first place. But...it may be possible to try and nudge things back to the path they were on. Think of time as a road that you walk. The end of the road is Gonto's utopia, and we all must walk it to reach there. But if you step off the path...well, who knows where you might wind up? It may not be possible to return you to where you started, but it may be possible to help you get back to the path again. As for finding out about your alternate self...hmm, I'm not sure. Maybe some kind of divination magic? It would need to be pretty powerful. I might have to look into that."

Lillian bows to the Sadduce. "My reason to speak with you is a little less...dramatic then Ladonna's. I merely wish to apologize for my words at the Harvest Festival. I've spent some time learning of Gonto's teachings, and I see now how selfish and ignorant I looked."

"Well, I'm glad to hear you say that," Winters says. "I know it is not easy to admit you were led astray by the lies of another god. But I daresay the one you truly own an apology to is Gonto herself. If it is Her forgiveness you truly seek, then I can arrange for you to publicly denounce Octhanus and embrace Gonto at the next service."

"How would one go about...nudging things back into place?" Ladonna asks.

"I'm not sure yet, admittedly, but your idea of scrying into the past to get a better picture of it has some merit. I'll have to get back to you on that," Voltera says.

"Thank you. I do appreciate at least that much," Ladonna says. "I'm not exactly fond of being on such shaky ground with the people that I know."
