Chantilly SweettoothHP: 35/35 - AC: 17 - Perception: 15 - Insight: 11 - Inspiration: No Chantilly cheers and raises a mug, taken who knows where, along the bearded knight. " You want to hear of that one time we fought along Mr. Roper? So, we were trapped. Guarded by kobolds on one side, and DRAKES on the other. In a cage with absolutely NO way to escape..." - she starts narrating, emphasizing the words she considered gave more impact to the story.

"Wait," Eliana says. "Mondath reports to someone else?" she asks. "I thought she was the one pulling the strings. How big is this cult?"

Zakkoth laugh happily, though it's probably unpleasant to hear, like cackling of a duck with a bad throat.
"Now this man get it!" He lift his mug. Zakkoth laugh. "The scars from THIS story still hurt. The drake almost bitten me in half. Bad omen it was.. but I am still here, thanks to another fool"
He turn to Eliana. "Well. I am not surprised. The dark queen is... a cruel temptress. She enjoy of putting her followers againt each other, and her main follower always need to worry from his underlings. This how it was in my day, and if those fools trying to copy us- I mean.. them-" *gulp" "I bet my scales, that it works the same."

Caelin Valaerys, pariah of TakhisisARMOR CLASS: 16 | HIT POINTS: 32 | CURRENT: 32 | HIT DIE: 3d8; 1d10 | CURRENT: 3d8; 1d10 PASSIVE PERCEPTION: 15 | PASSIVE INSIGHT: 17 | INSPIRATION: 1 Caelin nodded his thanks to the Innkeeper, and moved towards Eliana and the others, as their talked continued, Chantilly's voice singing their exploits, Zakkoth's low, deep voice, exclaiming the cult, and their devotion, his eyes narrowed, darting side to side. When he finally made his way through the crowd, he slapped a hand on the table, "Enough you fools!" He hissed sharply, through clenched teeth, "There is a time and a place for these discussions. A common room surrounded by strangers is not one." He paused, looking at Eliana and Henry specifically, "I," he stressed the word, "know our foe, eyes are everywhere. If you wish to expose yourself to assassin's blades, or her machinations, keep going as you are. Otherwise, cease!"He grabbed a crust of bread and a chunk of cheese from the table, "The rooms are paid for, Eliana your bath is being drawn, Zakkoth is with me, Chantilly and Benyt will share a room, Eliana and Henry each their own." With that he placed the keys on the table, and moved to the room he planned to share with Zakkoth, "Your celebration is hollow, we had no victory here, and the enemy is not defeated."His piece said, his eyes scanned the crowded room, looking for any sort of disruption to the general revelry, something that would indicate eyes upon them. He then turned and proceeded to their rooms, where he checked the door, the lock, the window, and any hidden access, where through the attic, or otherwise concealed.

Henry - HP: 36\36 - Conditions: None - Active Effects: None
---------------
Henry watches Caelin storm off without batting an eye, quite used by his outbursts by now. So much used that he doesn't even talk about what Caelin just said and goes back to Ontharr and Leosin "I would gladly share a pint or two." he clears his throat, still uncomfortable even though Ontharr tried to reassure him "But I would be more inclined to drink and tell if I had my orders, sir. I did what you asked, but I am right now at a loss to where go next." then shrugs and nods to Chantilly with a slight smirk, a hint of his usual mood "Even though my friend here has already told you the highlight of our recent endeavor. Don't believe I could ever top that."

"You want to hear of that one time we fought along Mr. Roper? So, we were trapped. Guarded by kobolds on one side, and DRAKES on the other. In a cage with absolutely NO way to escape..." - she starts narrating, emphasizing the words she considered gave more impact to the story. Frume seems quite amused by Chantilly's story, and laughs, applauds and comments throughout it. "What a story!" he adds when it's over. "I have never even heard of such a strange creature. To think such beings exist on this world! It was quite clever of you to make a deal with it." "Wait," Eliana says. "Mondath reports to someone else?" she asks. "I thought she was the one pulling the strings. How big is this cult?" "Far larger and complicated than most realize," Leosin answers. "It's why both Ontharr and myself have had trouble getting our respective organizations more involved. Most think they are just petty bandits, at best. Inept fanatics, at worst." Zakkoth laugh. "The scars from THIS story still hurt. The drake almost bitten me in half. Bad omen it was.. but I am still here, thanks to another fool" "Indeed, surely Habbakuk and Kiri-Jolith were watching over you that day," Frume agrees. "That you all escaped without a single loss of life is quite a feat." "Enough you fools! There is a time and a place for these discussions. A common room surrounded by strangers is not one. I know our foe, eyes are everywhere. If you wish to expose yourself to assassin's blades, or her machinations, keep going as you are. Otherwise, cease!" Frume frowns, his good mood soured. "Here now, take it easy, son. This isn't some defenseless village on the frontier borderlands, this is Solanthus, capital of the Heartlund of the Solamnic Empire. You are safe here from Evil, I can assure you. No spies or assassins walk these streets, not with the Knights watching over us all." "The rooms are paid for, Eliana your bath is being drawn, Zakkoth is with me, Chantilly and Benyt will share a room, Eliana and Henry each their own." "Wait, why am I with the kender?" Benyt mutters to herself. Once Caelin has stormed off, Frume grunts and says to the others, "He must be a hoot at parties." His piece said, his eyes scanned the crowded room, looking for any sort of disruption to the general revelry, something that would indicate eyes upon them. He then turned and proceeded to their rooms, where he checked the door, the lock, the window, and any hidden access, where through the attic, or otherwise concealed. Caelin notes several patrons and servers have turned their attention toward him after his outburst, but they go back to their drinks and meals when nothing more comes out of it. Once he is up in his room, he finds several glaring security flaws. The windows can be opened but not locked; sure, they're on the second floor, but anyone could scale up the walls and slip in. The door has a lock, but it's a very simple one. Even an amateur lockpicker could easily get it open with the right tool. For that matter, the doors aren't particularly sturdy or reinforced. A good, strong kick could probably break it down. And there does appear to be attic access from a trapdoor on the ceiling in the hall, not ten feet from his room's door. No telling how many assassins could be lying in wait up there, with easy access to the party's rooms once the lights go out for the night. "But I would be more inclined to drink and tell if I had my orders, sir. I did what you asked, but I am right now at a loss to where go next." "Not to worry about that, lad," Frume says. "We already have a new mission for you and your friends lined up, assuming they're all interested in seeing this through. But we can discuss that tonight, after dinner. For now, try and have a bit of fun. It may be a long time before another opportunity comes up."

Eliana had just managed to relax within her chair as she was fairly comfortable within the city limits. It would be much harder for their enemies to get to them since they were surrounded by knights and the like. Though, with Caelin's outburst, she jumped a little bit, and looked up to him in confusion for multiple reasons. She wanted to tell him, that for the time being, they were safe. He was the only one that had drawn attention to their conversation by having that little outburst, but instead she was caught off guard by the fact that she had a bath waiting for her, and her own room in which she didn't have to pay for either one. Before she could even say thanks, he stormed off which made her sigh.
"You'll have to forgive him," Eliana says as she turns her attention to Sir Frume. "He has some...personal issues with these people, much more so than any of the rest of us do," she explains before looking to Leosin. "Wouldn't the fact that dragons are working with these people be enough for the two respected groups to do something about it?" she asks curiously.

"Wouldn't the fact that dragons are working with these people be enough for the two respected groups to do something about it?" she asks curiously. "Not by itself," Leosin answers. "After all, the Knights have dragons of their own. And dragonlances. A rogue dragon or two is not much of a concern for them. And unless these dragons are Overlords, even the Legion isn't inclined to worry too much over it." The party whiles away time for a few hours, either at the inn or about in town. That evening, they regroup and meet back at the inn. Frume shows them to a private space off the tavern's common room and closes the door when they are all inside. The broad-shouldered knight sits down at a table alongside the monk, Leosin. The table holds several pitchers of dark red wine. As the party sits, Frume's face wears a serious expression, unlike his usual open countenance. "My friends, we have important business to discuss. At this point, you know almost as much about it as we do, and thanks to you, we know twice as much today as we did a fortnight ago. Something rotten is afoot. We have no formal organization to oppose these rascals--not yet, anyway. We're working on that. And we need people like you, who know how and when to fight, and how and when to keep their heads down and observe. We can't promise you anything except long days filled with danger and stress--but what could be better than that, eh?" he asks with a wink, his seriousness melting away. Leosin leans forward and elaborates. "Sir Frume is working to get the Knights of Solamnia involved, as I am working to get the Legion of Steel involved. Currently, neither organization considers the Children of Takhisis a real threat, but just a bunch of has-been Dark Knights now turned to banditry. Much like how many draconians did after the War of the Lance. Anyway, I'm also trying to get the The Druidic Order involved, but have had little luck so far." "Now then, we've procured some riding horses for you all," Frume jumps in. "You'll be needing them, if you accept this new job. How's your Estwilde?" he asks. At the party's blank looks, Frume clears his throat and explains. "We need you to cross the border, to Haltigoth, Estwilde's capitol." Again, Leosin elaborates. "We now know that the Children are amassing wealth and shipping it somewhere. Where exactly this treasure is going and what the cult plans to do with it are the next two questions that need answering. At this point, all we know is they are eastward. We believe they plan to meet up in Haltigoth and then move on from there. We would like you to join the cult's caravan and accompany them on their journey. You can get yourselves hired on as guards--if not by the cult's wagon masters, then by other merchants who are traveling in the same direction at the same time. Merchants from different companies commonly join together to form larger trains for protection." "I have contacts among the many merchants of the region and I'm certain I can arrange to get you all hired on," Frume adds. "Assuming you leave first thing in the morning, you should be able to arrive in Haltigoth before they depart. Or catch up to them, failing that." "Again, your goal here is not to defeat the cult," Leosin reminds them. "We just want intelligence. Find out where they're going and if possible, why. Mondath and Cyanwrath probably won't be among them--as based on your report, they did not depart until much later. I'm guessing they have an alternate route. Still, it's possible you might be recognized by the other cultists, so it's best to disguise yourselves in whatever way you can, to be safe." "What say you?" Frume asks, pouring himself a glass. "Ready for another adventure?"

Before. "Pff. No gods were there. They never were.' * * *
Zakkoth is more grimm this time. "I have few questions." He look at Leoshin. "You were always a man of spirituality. You have put me on my path for my heart. Since when, are you involving yourself in those schemes and politics?"
He turn to Frume. "You also, seems quite clever for a representive of the Solmanic Order. Aren't they above... espionage and the such?"
(If I wont be able to post until the end of the scene, the very least, Zakkoth will pass augury to see what would happen if and when they accept the mission)

Leosin shrugs. "I am with the Legion of Steel. This is what we do, how we operate, and always has been."
Frume answers, "I admit, it's not the way I prefer to do things, but this is the situation we're in now. The Knights don't have the political power they once had. We cannot act without Emperor Markham's approval, and there is not enough evidence to convince him as of yet. Until we get that evidence, we cannot act. At least, not officially."

Zakkoth nod to Frume.
But he frown at Leosin. "So why did you saved me back then? Was it... just a job?"

"I'm a little leery of joining the cult caravans. There are a few of them that have seen our faces," Eliana admits.

Chantilly SweettoothHP: 35/35 - AC: 17 - Perception: 15 - Insight: 11 - Inspiration: No Chantilly could hardly contain her excitment. First it was the party at the tavern, where everybody had fun, they sang, they drank, they told each other stories. Then Caelin basically announced that she and Benyt would have had a sleepover together, how much joy! She couldn't wait to play games all night with her! Then she and Henry had a shopping session, where admittedly they didn't shop much, but she was excited nevertheless about her new book, and all those magic items she saw at that shop, and all those interesting magical traps! Too bad she didn't have the chance to study what they did, apparently Henry was in a hurry to go somewhere else. Oh well, it would have been for another time. But now Lord Frume even gave them a new adventure! And they would have traveled in a caravan full of merchants! Oh boy, those things were usually filled with wonders. She just couldn't wait! And who knows, with all those people there maybe her dad would have been there too! One can wonder! "I'm a little leery of joining the cult caravans. There are a few of them that have seen our faces," " Oh, maybe I'll meet Fenn again! This just keep getting better!" " Can we have nicknames like all spies do?" - she asked happily.

Zakkoth for now put the mission on second place and below. "....The right thing to do." He echo Leoshin. "...I see." He become quite. "I guess I could help us into the caravan.... but can you give me words of wisdom? You have helped me once, setting me on this path. I have abandoned the gods with their lies and petty squabbles, to follow my own heart. But it seems my heart is thousand times weaker then my obstacles.'
