"You two are awfully impolite to me. I do have feelings, you know," Kori says to the Starshines. "I just thought it might be of some cultural or religious significance."

"...They aren't being impolite," Ravarie says to Kori with a shake of her head. "I don't know how you can't know about Spring Dawning. I've been sheltered most of my life, and I know that nearly everyone celebrates the coming of spring. I never experienced it with the Qualinesti before, but with the Kagonesti and the Silavnesti, I have."

"Oh, the Qualinesti always had those annoying festivals--I avoided them as best I could, I was never one for parties," Kori answers, managing to brush off the Starshines' rude remarks. If Ravarie thought they were fine...well, she supposed they were fine. "But I only heard it called 'the dawning of spring.' None of this 'Spring Dawning' nonsense. I think you'll find the dawning of spring is hard to get mixed up with Spring Dawning. They're very different phrases."

Regar pipes up to Kori "Don't take it to heart Kori, all sorts of races have different celebrations spring is a good one to celebrate, same with harvest times. I'm sure there are celebrations the dwarves have that others might not be aware of, I myself don't know most elven holidays or celebrations. For instance have any of you other than Grubnick heard of All Cows Day, Ironheight, or Forgeday? Granted I just slipped in a Kender holiday there only one I really know of to be honest."

"Oh, I love All Cows Day," Chatty pipes up. "It's one of my favorite holidays. But the importance of the Vernal Equinox is pretty important, too. Chislev teaches that it's a time of rebirth, love and family. I think every culture has some kind of celebration for it. Ooh, I once heard from my gnomish friend Mabel that it's actually autumn up north when it's spring down here. Isn't that nuts? I wonder how that even works. And here I thought time travel was illegal."

"Well, seasons are just the weather, aren't they?" Kori says. "And the weather may be spring-like in one part of the world while it's winter-like in another. Not necessarily time travel." She pauses. "Is time travel illegal? I thought it was just difficult and finicky."

Regar agrees with Kori "Yeah and it's kind of like how when it is day here it is night in other areas. It's not overly surprising seasons are like night and day or weather. I'm sure in one end of this ball we call home it is the opposing season it is here. Something about how circular everything thing is, cycles or something."

"Is time travel illegal? I thought it was just difficult and finicky." Chatty shrugs to Kori. "Dunno, that's what Gerrard told me last night when I was asking him questions about magic. Then he said he had a headache and needed to lie down."

"Perhaps you were forcing him to think too hard," Kori suggests. "People would always tell me they had headaches when I asked them lots of questions."

Ravarie didn't know anything about time travel, or really how they got on the subject of time travel, so she goes to check out the celebration.

The celebration, for the most part, is fairly simple. People are about, walking, talking, eating and drinking. They sit around the bonfire, or walk around the area. Some head back into the caves, while others emerge. There is free food and drink available--some kind of roast bird, fried mushrooms, and a potent moonshine. The locals stop and stare a bit at the party--they clearly have not seen many, if any, elves, dwarves or kender before. But nobody bothers or harasses them, and most keep a polite distance.

Ravarie partakes in the free food, and even takes a sil of the moonshine before she decides it is too much for her. In some ways, this simple celebration reminded her of home, and she felt at ease around it.

Regar mostly observes the celebration and joins in with any eating and drinking, he doesn't join in with dancing but will clap and cheer on those that do.

Unlike Ravarie, Kori is profoundly unsettled by the loud noises and hordes of strangers. She mostly sticks to the edge of the area, petting Habbakuk.

Grubnick will steer clear of the tribespeople mostly, to be sure there are no 'misunderstandings'
