Kaelestia
Hp: 10/12 - AC: 5 Kaelestia nods at Sumina: " I understand, I will return shortly." - she says, before following the crowd into the temple.

Sumina certainly keeps her distance from the temple of Paladine, and she waits for the others to do their thing.

Parra would tilt her head at Sumina "No need to fear the weak kind of gods." and would go as well.

From what Sha'al can see, the only way to get under the giant houseglass would be to try digging a hole in the ground and tunneling beneath it. As for climbing to its top, it's rather difficult because of its oblong shape, but possibly he could get a boost from Granker, who is nearly as tall as the hourglass is.
Meanwhile, Kaelestia and Parra head to the temple of Paladine to join the locals in prostration. As they are ushered inside to find seats among the pews, Parra starts to feel deeply uncomfortable. She begins sweating profusely, and her heart feels like it's being squeeze inside her chest. She has that overwhelming feeling a child has when they have done something wrong, and their parents have found out, and they are awaiting their punishment. She feels afraid, small and weak and she has an overwhelming desire to flee from the place. Kaelestia, however, feels perfectly normal.

Sha'al finds the top of the hourglass is quite solid. There are no doorways or openings.

Kaelestia
Hp: 10/12 - AC: 5 " Is something the matter?" - Kaelestia asks Parra, noticing all the sweating. In the meantime she observes around her to gather information on what's happening inside the temple.

Arthogate isn't really sure what to do he was going to just do as the locals told them to but he isn't sure now that some of the others are distracted.

(What is the top of the hourglass made of? Is it glass or is there some material fashioned into a 'base' to hold it)

The hourglass does have a wooden base, which covers the top and bottom.
As the locals sit down in the pews, a priest wearing white robes approaches the altar and begins to give a dry, long-winded sermon on the virtues of Paladine, the righteousness of the Kingpriest, and the importance of wiping out all Evil.
(OOC: I'm not clear, is Arthogate attending the sermon along with Parra and Kaelestia?)

Kaelestia
Hp: 10/12 - AC: 5 Kaelestia bites her bottom lip. An entire population with a penchant for magic holed up in a hidden city too busy dwelling on empty platitudes to realize the rest of the world was leaving them behind. She finally faced the feeling of familiarity that was bugging her from the moment they stepped through that arch, and realized why she wasn't that flabbergasted by what they found, as opposed to her party members. The irda fought her urges, but couldn't stop her arm from raising and her mouth from moving: " I apologize for my forthrightness, but how exacly are you planning on wiping out all Evil if all you do is pray, eat breakfast and attend plays? Do you have a long term plan on how to positively impact the world from the safety of your hidden city?" - she asked in really collected voice, in open contrast with the fire she was feeling within.

"I apologize for my forthrightness, but how exacly are you planning on wiping out all Evil if all you do is pray, eat breakfast and attend plays? Do you have a long term plan on how to positively impact the world from the safety of your hidden city?" The entire congregation turns toward her, and more than a few snicker or even laugh at her question. "Ah, the arrogance of one who speaks on matters they know nothing about," the priest says condescendingly to his flock. "We wiped out Evil from our city many centuries ago. At least, until you brought it back in with you." He gestures to Kaelestia. "Behold, my brothers and sisters. An elf, a child of Paladine, but look closely. She has turned her back on His glory. She bears the pagan symbol of Chislev, and travels with a Minotaur. Chislev, of course, is a Neutral god. Meaning she does not fight against Evil. She stands by, passively, watching it grow and fester. Indeed, she even sides with it against Good at times. And yet, this pagan elf would deign to enter our city and criticize us for not doing enough in the fight against Evil, while bringing an Evil race into our congregation." He turns his attention back to the druid. "Tell me elf, do you renounce your pagan god, and your Evil associates, and ask Paladine for forgiveness for your trespasses?"

Sumina joins Sha'al to look over the hourglass. "Obviously, some magic is involved here," she says. "I wonder what happens if we try to break the glass."

Kaelestia
Hp: 10/12 - AC: 5 " I will take that as a 'No'." - Kaelestia answers sternly. - " You claim that I stand by, and let Evil grow and fester, and yet it is right beside the walls of your own city that draconians chase children and attacks travelers, undisturbed by the so called followers of Paladine." - she raises on her feet, looking down at her medallion of faith. - " I stand proud by what the World Mother believes: that Evil is a regrettable necessity, whose absence bears fruits that are now ripe before my eyes." - she says looking the priest right in his eyes: " A town full of white-robed cockalorums whose last contribution in the fight against evil dates back centuries ago by your own admission."
