"Why were you exiled?" Ladonna asks.

"The worst crime any elf can commit," Sidhanar answered. "Murder."

Ladonna's eyes widen a bit, as she didn't expect him to say that he murdered someone. "What exactly is the story behind this?" she asks.

"It started with a hunting trip," Sidhanar begins. "My family used to take them deep into the woods each year. We have a cabin out there just for us. One night, my brothers and I decided, on a lark, to go midnight hunting. My people can see in the dark just fine, and we were young and foolish, so saw no problem with it; besides, we had the full moons to guide us. We found...something. Like a wolf, but not. We hunted it down, but I was bitten in the process." He shakes his head. "That night...I had terrible nightmares. I dreamed of viscera and gore, of horrific violence. When I awoke the next morning...I discovered my sister had been torn to shreds. It did not take them long to realize who had done it. I was exiled on threat of death...although honestly, most days I wish they had executed me anyway."

"Sidhanar, that wasn't your fault," Ladonna says. "You wouldn't just murder your sister in such a brutal way or at all. All of that was the beast inside you, and it is separate from who you are."

"Is it?" he asks, turning to face her. "Or perhaps the form you see now is the false one, and the beast is my true self," he muses. "In any case, it matters little who is to blame. She remains dead regardless. Curing me won't bring her back."

Ladonna lets out a small sigh. "No, curing you doesn't bring her back, but it might allow you the chance to forgive yourself," she explains. "No one deserves punishment like what you are going through."

"I'm not sure I've done anything to deserve forgiveness," Sidhanar broods. "And what of the risks to you? If it doesn't work, if it goes wrong...what if I have another death on my conscience when it's all said and done?"

"You can't blame yourself if something happens to me," Ladonna says. "I know how dangerous this could be. I know what I'm getting into. I'm already trying to plan on how this will work as we speak," she admits.

Sidhanar is quiet as he thinks, then says, "The next full moon is not for three days. I will sleep on it tonight. But regardless of what happens...thank you for the attempt, if nothing else."

"Until then, I'll get prepared with what I think I'm going to need to keep you restrained while I cast the spell, providing that you decide to do it," Ladonna says. She doubted that she had money for magical restraints, but she could at least look into it.

"Very well. In the meantime, I should get back to work before my supervisor notices anything," Sidhanar admits.

Ladonna leaves so that he can get back to work. She needs to find chains that would hold a werewolf.

If it's metalcrafts Ladonna seeks, it occurs to her the best place to check would be the castle's blacksmith.
