It was only two weeks ago that the party departed from Eastwatch to return to Zhea Harbor. But it feels like months when the city finally comes into view. Exhausted, wounded, and having lost one of their own, as well as their pack animals, the port city looks like paradise at this point.
The city is surrounded by a wall with only three entrances--west, north and east. The party approaches from the west. The gate is protected by a small contingent of armed guards in chain mail, with swords at their belts and crossbows on their back. They take note of the party's approach, for it's not easy to overlook a group of elves with a dwarf, goblin, and nomad with them. Sorrith and Lalora already have their hoods up when they approach, used to dealing with this sort of reception in human lands. The guards stop them at the gate and say, "Hold there. What business do you have in Zhea Harbor?"

"Well, it's a bit difficult to explain, but we're trying to seek allies to overthrow the Ogres," Kori explains. "We thought we might find some, here."
[OOC: Same spells, please.]

"The elves are going to war with the ogres?" one guard asks, seemingly surprised to hear that.

“No, just us. But it would be nice if the Elves helped,” Kori explains unhelpfully.

"Kori, you are making it confusing," Ravarie says before she speaks up to the guards. "While many of us are elves, the eleven nations are not going to war with the Ogres," she explains. "Our ultimate goal is to make an alliance with the people of Zhea Harbor, but right now all we want to do is to get some much needed rest."

"Riiiiight," says the guard. "Well, just stay out of trouble and don't try and start any wars here in the city," he says. "The people here have had enough of war as it is." The guards pass and let the party into the city.

Once pass the guards, Ravarie looks to Kori. "They really didn't need to know the full details as to why we are here. They just needed to know we were looking to rest," she points out.

“Oh,” Kori says. “Out of curiosity, why not?”

"You saw their reactions," Ravarie says as she leads the group to where she remembered an inn being. "They are just guards, not the leaders of this place. It isn't as if they can make the important decisions."

Ravarie leads the party to the inn she stayed at last time she was here, which was on the docks. The docks are on the other side of the city, so it takes about an hour to walk down there. This is clearly the poor side of the city. The buildings are ramshackle and falling apart, people have hushed conversations in alleys and stop talking when the party gets close, and the entire place reeks of salt and fish. The streets are muddy and much more crowded with people, but there are no fancy horse-pulled wagons here.
The Blue Bird isn't hard to find, it's right on the water-front. A large wooden bird, painted blue, sits atop the entrance, although its head has broken off and lies at its feet. It looks like it was supposed to once be a beautiful depiction of a kingfisher.
Stepping inside, the party finds a dank and poorly lit common room. Numerous people are here, most of them sailors from the looks of them. Everyone turns to look at the party when they enter, but then go back to their drinks, conversations and sea shanties a few moments later.

Ravarie remembers the place not being the best, but it was better than nothing. "I'm going to get some rooms, and some food," she says to the others. "Once we are more settled, we can discuss how to talk to the right people." With that said, she walks up to the keep to ask for 3 rooms, and 4 meals.
