Igordragonian, you listed his height as 5'13. Is that typo or do you mean he's 6'1"?

Alright, so I changed my character's name from Ryu Nabi to Ryu Ha-Yun. Her extra language is Umizuri, and she is going to start with a light crossbow with 20 bolts. Alignment- NG Age-23 Height-5'7" Weight-123lbs Personality: Ha-Yun is a warm and outgoing person. She doesn't know a stranger, but she only keeps a few close friends. While she likes to be outgoing and social, only a select few people get to see her deeper side. Once a person reaches that close friend stage, she is deeply loyal to them. Ha-Yun is also the type to go with the flow, so she can easily adapt to change. Ha-Yun does have some issues with being disorganized. She is creative as well, but she sometimes runs out of steam when working on creative projects. Appearance: Ha-Yun has straight, long black hair that is styled differently every day. On occasion, her hair color changes (or at least it used to) with the help of a little magic. She has light brown eyes, usually a friendly smile, and some light freckles along her checks. She stands at about 5'7", and weighs around 123 pounds. As for clothing, it is hard to pin down what she might wear as she likes all kinds of styles and fashion. Typically, she will wear hanboks in various colors (but she prefers darker skirts and lighter tops). History: Ha-Yun doesn't remember much before she was seven years old aside from the fact that she was found by the man that she would call father within the Ryu Clan. Throughout the rest of her childhood and part of her teenage years, she would only have flashes of crying and fire. Ryu Hyun-Woo, the man that found Ha-Yun wondering around in a daze in charred clothing. He surmised that perhaps Ha-Yun's parents died in a fire, but it is all speculation on his part since Ha-Yun refused to try to remember what happened. In any case, Hyun-Woo was happy to adopt Ha-Yun especially after he had lost his own child in childbirth.
While growing up, Ha-Yun showed great talent in music and dance. She would, more often than not, put on informal shows for her family that were surprising well put together (if not rough due to her age). Though, it was through this little performances that she met Ryu Yoonah, who also happened to be an orphan that was adopted into the clan. She became Ha-Yun's closest friend, and it was through Yoonah that Ha-Yun met six other people that had similar orphan backgrounds like her. They also all shared a love for music and dance, so they all became friends, if not a makeshift family. Including Yoonah and Ha-Yun, there was Kyong, Ho-Sook, Chin Sun, Oung, Minji, and Gyunghui.
For years, the eight of them were basically inseparable. They also practiced music and dance with each other nearly every day until Yoonah decided to turn them into a music group named the Waif Girls. Their popularity grew within the Ryu clan, and then they finally branched out to other clans. There were even rumors, for a little bit, that they might even be able to perform for the royals. Though, before they did that, they actually traveled to the Radiant Citadel, where they performed, and even visited other worlds to perform.
Shortly after Ha-Yun turned 22, tragedy struck the group. While performing for a neighboring clan, a gwishin attacked. Yoonah was killed, and a couple of her other friends were injured before the Gwishin was dealt with. The damage was done though. Yoonah was gone, Chin Sun and Minji were injured, and the rest of them were mentally scarred from the attack and losing the leader of their makeshift family. After a few months, Ha-Yun tried to bring everyone back together but it didn't feel right without Yoonah. It was possible that it was still too soon. To escape the sadness that was creeping over Ha-Yun (which brought back flashes of her childhood), she took off for the Radiant Citadel to join the Shieldbearers (she learned about them during her various performances at the Citadel). They seemed to do good, and she wanted to feel apart of something again. 1.) What is your social class and clan? Is your family part of the nobility or the working class? Do you want to change your status? Are you an active member of your clan or have you left it behind? My family is part of the working class, and I don't really want to change my status. My girl group, with our popularity, were working out way up to noble class though. I was an active member of my clan for a long time. I have only just recently left them behind, but if they were to call me back, I'm fairy certain I would drop everything to go help them. 2.) Do you have a special role in the city's hierarchies? Are you a member of the royalty? Did you or do you hope to pass the Test of Ascension and become a magistrate? Are you an arbiter who deals with spirits? I don't play any role in the city's hierarchies, and I'm not royalty. Becoming a magistrate is a nice goal, but it isn't for me. As for an arbiter...maybe. I don't know what all goes into becoming an arbiter right now though. 3.) How have gwishin affected you? Did a member of your family return as a gwinshin? Did your family deal with their own gwishin, call aid in dealing with it, or let it linger? Did a gwishin of another clan teach, harm, or otherwise interact with you? Yes. I don't think any of my family has returned as a gwishin. It is possible that Yoonah did, but if she did I haven't seen her. The Ryu clan usually calls someone in to deal with it. Another clan's gwishin killed my best friend.

Igordragonian Haven't watched AsoAif, but am familiar with Iroh. So as weird as it is to imagine an irresponsible Iroh, that is what it sounds like. Wait, is an irresponsible Iroh also a less playful Bumi? hmmm Maybe it is Bumi Jr from Korra? @horizonsdream Do you have any ideas for how Ha-Yun might know any of the rest of us? What brought her to the Shieldbearers?

The reason why she joined the Shieldbearers is in her history which I whispered to Daos. Ha-Yun is keeping the reason why she joined the Shieldbearers to herself for the time being. I also figure that she is the rookie of the rookies, if that makes sense. Ha-Yun used to be part of a popular girl group that was called Waif Girls. They traveled to a few other worlds, and even performed a couple of times at the Citadel, so it is possible that the PCs might know her from that girl group.

So really we might know of you, but not know you? Umm okay. IDK why we'd decide to join as a team or why you'd team with us other than just shieldbearer coworkers then but okay.

5'0" then? As for Tyrion, I'd best describe him as an alcoholic womanizer with a heart of gold.

Ah I guess so. I was thinking of 1.80 m and tried to americanize it and thought to finish the number with 13. Cause.. bad luck.
--- I guess it summarize it. But also I meant from the angle of a semi-bastard noble.

sarcastiksh0rtee37 I figured, with the type of life that Ha-Yun had, she probably wouldn't know people from other worlds or at the Citadel on a personal level since she was focusing on her performing. If you are wanting some sort of personal connection to the characters, perhaps Vulpi helped Ha-Yun when she first arrived at the Citadel. It could be something simple like helping Ha-Yun reach the Shieldbearers barracks. That is just one idea. I was just under the impression that the PCs didn't have to know each other from the get go since they would eventually get to know one another in the game.

So, I like the witness protection thing through Vulpi. That's a good spot to fill, and while Livana is definitely the front-liner, she doesn't make the best decisions. Naturally she will tend to avoid confrontation, but she doesn't have worthy situational awareness otherwise. She could definitely use some more eyes on the lookout for possible upset Bloodletters. That being said, she wouldn't just tell everybody she's in the witness protection so, in character, that would be between you and me.
I love the idea of Zencho, as I also thoroughly enjoyed Iroh and Tyrion. One of the great things about the jeli flower is just how many things it can produce, including hard drinks. I imagine they've crossed paths before on her never-ending quest to advertise the jeli community.
Ha-Yun and Livana would very likely have clicked soon as they met up, as they both tend to put on a smile and make friends rather easily. Now, where they met, I wouldn't be sure unless Ha-Yun had ever traveled to Zinda to perform.
On that note, if anybody's characters had ever traveled to Zinda to witness the March of Vice or observe the Court of Flowers, there's a good chance they crossed paths with Livana. She has always been an active player in the jeli community, which is known far and wide.

I just read Zinda. As an insurgent Vulpi would definitely vibe with the bloodlettters, so the juxtaposition of having to protecting someone who betrayed the commoner to support the elite is great and I am excited about the tension this could bring.

I didn't narrow down to how many worlds Ha-Yun has traveled too. Umizu and Yongjing are both on the list. We can say that they performed in Zinda too. Maybe Livana and Ha-Yun met while her girl group were doing all sorts of tourist stuff before their actual concert.
