I'm a joyless curmudgeon who refuses to acknowledge holidays. The calendar is just another tool The Man uses to tell us when to do things! Although, depending on what resources you have available and what map you're playing on, sometimes it's worth beelining for so you can build the plantation improvement and grab astronomy.

Well, me and my brothers used to go Trick-or-Treating on Halloween, but I don't enjoy it anymore. I've done it every year since I was seven, but the novelty has worn off. Here is a list of reasons that I don't like Trick-or-Treating:
1. The costumes are often uncomfortable.
2. The weather is cold. One year, my already not-that-great Ash Ketchum costume was ruined by my mom forcing me to wear a coat.
3. The decorations. I am a huge coward, and admittedly so. I am afraid of spiders, zombies, lack of knowledge about something mysterious, heights, fires (primarily due to the fact that I am likely to lose my precious Batri in one), jumpscares, and blood. So...yeah.
4. It's a lot of work out there, walking from house to house. My feet get sore easily.
5. I'm not that big on candy; there are only a few types I like.
However, this year, we have a much better plan. Mom gave us $25 to buy candy for Halloween (I got a giant bag of Sour Patch Kids for only $4.31!), and on Halloween, she's getting us dinner from McDonalds (Or in my case, Wendy's), and we get to watch a movie.

When you make a post, are you using the 'preview' tab or the 'BBCode' tab? If the former, type out what you want to say normally, then highlight it and hit the whisper button. If it's the latter, make sure what you want to whisper is between the tags. It will look like this below, but with brackets instead of parenthesis. (div style="font-size:0px;" title="whisper admin, gravityemblem")I'm whispering!(/div)

I've always enjoyed Halloween, ever since I was a kid. Since I lived out in the middle of no where when I was growing up, we didn't get trick or treaters. My mom would take me over to my grandma's neighborhood. I would meet up with my cousins, and after showing off our costumes to grandma, we would hit the neighborhood. Some people went all out on Halloween. Some people completely forgot about Halloween too. I remember one year we knocked on this guy's door, and he said that he had completely forgot about Halloween, so he gave all of us a can of coke. I was cool with that even though coke tended to make me feel like my teeth were actively rotting out (yes even at eight years old I felt that way). Though, now that I'm old, , Halloween just kind of passes me by. I get to dress up just a tiny bit for work, but we can't go all out. I usually get a cute little headband or something that I can wear, and do my make-up a little differently. I can't actually wear an actual costume though. This year, I was going to wear some really cute Minnie Mouse ears, but I was sick this year so that didn't happen. I've noticed that all of the holidays don't hold the same meaning to me anymore. When I was younger, I always enjoyed getting together with my family. Now my family annoys me to no end, and I had rather just stay away from them than deal with the drama. Thankfully, I live 2000 miles away from the family, so I don't have to worry about that drama reaching me. I hear about it when I call my mom, but my usual comment is "better you than me". I was in Oklahoma for a week last month, I couldn't handle a week's worth of family drama.

Spent my whole life doing homemade costumes. When I was 10 I was a werehuahua...(were chihuahua) my kids are going as a character from Yokia Watch and a Leopard. Gonna be hella cute. They are my attraction to any kind of holiday do the last several years. I love Halloween, my kids love it, we will be trick or treating this year, tryin to get those fill size candy bars.

The deeper I get into Katya's head the more I realize she is really just a mash up of Paksenarrion Dorthansdotter and Kelsier, Survivor of Hathsin.Kelsier was a more interesting protagonist than Vin ever was. Thankfully I don't think Jherek is fool enough to get himself beaten to death That and Tardiff is way less grim-dark than The Final Empire.

So, heads up to my players in both of my games, but as the holidays are around the corner, my work hours are increasing. They're already up 70% this week, and eventually I'll probably just stop having days off altogether, if past experience is anything to go by. Once January gets here, things will go back to normal.
What does this mean for my games? My posts may come later in the day as a result. It's also possible I may skip a day and not post at all every now and again, just due to complete exhaustion. Then again, maybe I'll be able to maintain my normal post rate throughout. It's not impossible.
But I just wanted to give everyone a warning, so nobody is left thinking I'm losing interest or anything like that.

With the holidays coming up, nothing is going to change for me work wise. I might decide to do some overtime, but that isn't really going to effect anything here because I get off at 2am (and I highly doubt that any of you people are up at that time of night). The only thing is that I won't have school, so that means I'll most likely be able to post more.

I'm glad you're not losing interest, Daos! The heads up is appreciated. I'm probably going to keep babbling on the boards whenever I have downtime. My work's 'busy season' is actually late spring. I'll remind you that it's coming up when it starts to loom and I'll probably be a little less prolific when that happens.

As for me, we have officially hit bug off-season. My work load has dropped considerably. I get off before 4pm most days now, unless I'm doing exclusion work or termite jobs. So I can post pretty regular...however my wedding is on the 18th and I am a bundle of nerves and excitement. I may ghost for a few Days after that.

My family's holiday celebrations don't interfere too much with my online life. I mean, we're visiting my Grandma for Christmas (Or Thanksgiving. I forgot which.), but she lives, like, approximately 4 hours away, and her house does have internet connection, so I can post here in my downtime.
