"Well Silas, it's good to see you as always," Theron says after lending his assistance. "I'm heading off to make merriment and take in all this fine festival has to offer." He moves a few steps closer to Silas and lowers his voice a bit before continuing, "I suspect I may have...other business to conduct with you, later on in the evening. Would you have any objection to receiving a visit from me at your home, sometime after the celebrations have concluded?"
Theron walks over to the Farboughs' stand once his conversation with Silas has wrapped up. "Good morning," he greets them. "My, these cheeses look delightful. Might I sample a bit of this cheddar? Mmm...exquisite. I'll take a wheel of it, please." He pays the halflings their asking price without bothering to haggle, and sets off on his way.
With his wheel of cheddar tucked under one arm, he casually strolls away from the square, westward along the road leading to the Goblin's Tooth. He walks a little more than halfway towards its entrance before he pauses, glances around to confirm there's no one nearby, and heads into the wooded area behind the tavern.

Ladonna makes her way through the crowd of people until she reaches Sennah (and assuming Damon is there too). "It looks like I missed Caerlon's story. How well did he fair in the battle this time?" she asks curiously. She knew that even though most people's stories changed through the years, Caerlon's story always seemed to get more elaborate each year.

"Good morning," he says in his usually slow and ponderous voice. "Will you be attending the festival this afternoon, Flinnton?" Ingot was, in many ways, the opposite of Flinnton. He was from a prestigious family (his father being on the council) and was a very loyal follower of Gonto. Ingot was focused, hard-working and had his entire future planned out for him. All of this despite his strange appearance. Flinn Lochlass fished the round of wood out of the pile that we was looking for, brushed off a bit of residual dirt clinging to the grain of the wood, and tilted it back and forth as he examined it as Ingot made his way over.
“Wouldn’t miss it for all of Gonto’s sparks in the sky,” he answered. Miss about the only interesting thing in this town? Flinn thought to himself. Not a chance. “And what about you, my friend?” he continued, tapping the lad in his brought chest with the chunk of wood. “Surely you will there as well? When will you be finished here? Perhaps we can go together. You know,” he added with a slow smile, “I would think Myra will be there as well.”

(OOC: It is now 8 AM.) Ladonna and Ryan (Buho Inn)Damon harrumphs and crosses his arms. "The old fool exaggerates more and more every year. At this rate, he'll have fought the entire war on his own in another few years. The way he talks, you'd think my father had a bit part in the whole thing." Sennah does not respond, but simply sits there in somber silence. Once Caerlon sits down, Jonas stands up to go next. He tells a tale Ladonna has heard many times before. It's the story of how he, still just a fresh faced recruit with no real combat experience before, killed his first goblin. Flinnton Lochlass (Outside the Goblin's Tooth)"Indeed, I shall also attend," Ingot replies. "Father is at the inn, currently, with the other veterans. Mother is setting up at the festival grounds. I am just finishing up my chores first. I have no objection to accompanying you, if you do not mind waiting a few minutes." To Flinn's comment about Myra, Ingot nods. "That seems probable. I suspect most of the village will be in attendance." His face betrays no emotion at her name. Then again, Ingot's face is usually pretty neutral. As they are talking, Theronymous Wiggledigit (Theron for short), approaches. However, he veers off toward the back of the tavern, a wheel of cheese tucked under one arm. Justin Tyme (Village Square)Although it's still fairly early yet, and the festival itself hasn't properly started (most of the villagers are still at the inn), there are a few people out and about. Among them is Rolf Metayer, who is the local groomer and stablehand. Rolf is a human in his early 30s and sadly, he does not take nearly as good care of himself as he does his horses. Rolf's poor hygiene is somewhat notorious in the village. It's no wonder he hasn't taken a wife yet. "Whoa, lookie here," he says, approaching Justin and looking over his figurines. "You make these yourself? They're pretty good." Even standing a few feet away, his odor rolls toward Justin, smelling very much like a stable. "You got any horseys? How much you want for one?" ( Justin makes a CHA check [CHA 13] (1d20): 13, pass.) Theronymous Wiggledigit (Village Square/Behind the Goblin's Tooth)Silas nods. "Very well. I'll await you this evening." After exchanging pleasantries with the Farboughs, he purchases a wheel of cheddar for 4 silver pieces. With the wheel in hand, he makes his way to the Goblin's Tooth. He spots Flinnton and Ingot speaking in front of the tavern. The latter is holding a bucket of something, probably water. The former seems to be whittling something from some wood. While they are distracted, he makes for the wooded area behind the tavern. ( Theron spends 4 SP on a wheel of cheddar [1 lb].)

"Everyone here knows that your father is the true hero of Buho," Ladonna says with a nod. "I don't think Caerlon will cross that line." Though, she could understand why his stories got more grandiose with time. Listening to the same old stories over and over again, year after year, was boring. Though, Ladonna knew better than to say that. "I was just a baby at the time, but doesn't everyone has a story? Like my dad right now."

Arriving in the copse, Theron spends a few moments breathing slowly and standing still, listening for footfalls or any other indication that he was followed. He lets out a soft sigh after those moments pass, letting his gaze wander freely over his surroundings. "Yes, this will do nicely," he mutters to himself. "Nice and quiet."
He sits down upon the soft carpet of dead leaves and removes the recently purchased velvet cap from his backpack. After taking a moment to study the small hat, he casts a cantrip upon his tunic, changing its color from a dull grayish-brown to the same shade of dark blue as his cap. Theron replaces the cap into his backpack, then casts a similar cantrip to change the color of his breeches to black.
(OOC: I'm assuming we roll a proficiency check when using cantrips the same as any other NWP? Assuming no modifiers, Theron should succeed on these rolls with a 15 or lower:) Tunic 84mcc75v1-20 Breeches 1-20
Theron spends a bit of time admiring his handiwork before rising to his feet, brushing off the bottom of his now-black breeches, and withdrawing one of his daggers from its sheath. He proceeds to slice a small bite-sized portion from the wheel of cheese, then walks around the wooded area for about ten minutes looking for any sign of burrowing creatures. About once every minute he stops and gently calls out "friend? friend of gnome?" in Burrow-speak while holding the bit of cheese out in his palm around ankle level.
(OOC: If ten minutes pass and he has not encountered any burrowing creatures with which he can communicate, he will use another cantrip to attempt to conjure rodents:) 1-201-20·1-20·1-20

Justin Tyme
"Why Rolf, I most certainly do have a horse. I carved it with you in mind as a matter of fact." Justin uses his juggling skills to make the horse 'gallop' on his knuckles. "Normally I would charge a gold, but for you - ten silver coins! What do you say?"

Ladonna and Ryan (Buho Inn) "Not everyone saw battle," Sennah replies. "Those who were protecting the young and infirm in the baron's manor, for instance. The goblins never made it that far."
Justin Tyme (Village Square) "Aw, you'd give poor old Rolf a discount, eh?" the man asks. He smiles, revealing he's missing a few teeth. "You got yourself a deal then!" He fishes out ten silver coins from his pouch and hands them over for the carved horse figurine. "I know just where I'm gonna put this, too. Thanks!"
Rolf wanders off, admiring his new purchase. Shortly after, Queenie returns with a picnic basket tucked under her arm. Setting it down on the blanket, she pulls out some biscuits and bacon, as well as a couple of waterskins.
(Justin earns 10 SP. They are added to his belt pouch.)
Theronymous Wiggledigit (Behind the Goblin's Tooth) Theron sits and tries to change the color of his clothes to match the ones he just bought. His breeches become black, but the spell doesn't stick with his tunic and it fades back to its original grayish-brown.
Slicing off a piece of cheese, he holds it out while speaking in the language of burrowing animals. Eventually, a squirrel emerges from a tree and cautiously approaches, sniffing the air and chittering back. "Friend?" he repeats. "Food?"
(Theron uses a cantrip to change the color of his tunic to dark blue [Cantrip 15] (1d20): 18, fail. Theron uses a cantrip to change the color of his breeches to black [Cantrip 15] (1d20): 10, pass.)

"I am...friend of little-furry-ones," Theron tells the squirrel as he struggles to recall the pattern of squeaks and barks through which these simple creatures communicate. It has been some time since he practiced, but before long he seems to get into the rhythm of it. As the squirrel timidly scampers up and snatches the bit of cheese from his hand, he continues. "Gnome need help of little-furry-one. Gnome is friend. Gnome has food, give to little-furry-one. Help friend gnome?" Moving slowly so as not to disturb the critter, he slices off another bite-sized portion of cheese from the wheel. "Come with friend?"
After the squirrel gives its reply, Theron will make another attempt at altering his tunic's color. Z3xuhxs|1-201-20

Justin Tyme
"Hello there, my queen," Justin smiles at Queenie. "I have already made a bit of a profit," the halfling smiles as he pinches some coins together. "Here, hold out your hand, love," he says as he juggles 5 coins with a dazzling display of dexterity to have them make a stack in one hand. He then has them dance down his knuckles into Queenie's outstretched hand. "Your half - for you and your family." Justin smiles, "You all have been so kind, and I could never repay your generosity or grace."
Justin then takes one of the biscuit sandwiches and says, "See? I am again in your debt. I better get back to selling." Justin returns to his antics - juggling the carvings and food and taking a bite of the biscuit or bacon as he does so.

Ladonna and Ryan (Buho Inn)"I'm no warrior," Sennah admits. "I did my part, and produced as many flamefists as I could for the war effort." Ladonna recalls Damon used a flamefist in the fight with the wild dogs a couple of months back, and had mentioned it during the goblin ambush. It's a creation of Sennah herself. It is a carefully scored, ceramic container capable of holding two vials of Greek fire, which is specially contoured to fit comfortably in the hand. They are sold complete with ceramic stoppers fitted with a cork sealing ring and paraffin/cloth wick. If filled completely with Greek fire and thrown against the target, the victim suffers the effects of being struck with two vials of Greek fire simultaneously. "But I never saw combat. Not that I didn't want to, but I was seven months pregnant with Damon at the time. I stayed in the baron's manor during the attack. Sandon insisted, as he wanted to make sure both I and our unborn child were safe..." She shakes her head sadly as she remembers old memories. Meanwhile, Judy does not seem to have heard Ryan's comment or question, as she is too distracted by the sight of her husband having walked in--a fact Ryan seems to have not noticed yet. She gets up from her seat and hurries over to the entrance where he is standing, throwing her arms around his neck in a hug. "I'm so glad you were able to make it!" Clay chuckles and hugs her back. "I'll admit, I almost wasn't able to. I had to pull some strings to pull it off." Justin Tyme (Village Square)Queenie watches with amazement at Justin's sleight of hand. "Whoa, where did you learn that trick? Guess you picked up all sorts of things while you were away, huh?" She looks down at the five silver. "You don't gotta pay me anything. We're neighbors, after all. Besides, we've known each other since we were kids. Our families were always close. Heck, at one point, Pa even considered you for..." Suddenly, she clams up, as if just realizing something. "Uh, never mind." She hands the coins back to him. "You sure you don't need this more than me? You don't got a real job yet, since you got back, right? You know, Pa would hire you in a second, I'm sure, at the ranch. If you want." Theronymous Wiggledigit (Behind the Goblin's Tooth)"Help friend...for food," the squirrel replies, gobbling down the piece of cheese offered in a hurry, then giving a small burp. "What want me do?" ( Theron uses a cantrip to turn his tunic dark blue [Cantrip 15] (1d20): 2, pass.)

"Is simple," Theron says to the squirrel. "We go to human-place. Little-furry-one go up in tree. Hold food in tree for short time. I say, 'drop', and little-furry-one drops food. Then gnome-friend give little-furry-one big-big food." Theron holds out an empty hand invitingly to the little creature. "Come?"
Theron helps the squirrel find a comfortable seat upon his shoulder, then heads back to the town square.

Ladonna hesitates for a moment before she places her hand on Sennah's shoulder in hopes to give her a little comfort. She assumed that this was probably a pretty hard day for her since this was all in honor of her husband, and it probably all just brought up the fact that her husband was gone. "I didn't mean to bring up painful memories for you," she admits.
