So, a few days ago I posted something in another thread, a video sync up using some footage from an old 80's animated film (The Flight of Dragons) with part of an episode of Spoiler Warning (a series of Let's Plays), in which one of the people, Rutskarn, tried to describe what THAC0 is to the amusement of Josh and the horror of Mumbles. Well, Rutskan decided to run Josh through a 2E game. Like, a real 2E game, no house rules; playing it as intended. And wackiness ensues. If you've ever wondered what 2E really looks like, without all of my many house rules, it's worth a listen if you've got 90 minutes to kill. Hilarious, too, especially since Josh is sick and kind of out of it (although fair warning to Lillian, there are quite a few swears throughout). Some highlights: Racial ability requirements (you can't be a dwarf, your CON is too low!), two kinds of multi-classing, rolling for 1st level HP (a fighter with 2 HP!), and of course, the Chance of Getting Hopefully Lost table. Probably my favorite line was Rutskarn's description of 2E: "It's basically about intuitive as a Soviet submarine."

I watched these as they originally aired, many many years ago. The CreativeJuices team was fantastic and their "Players Handbook Public Service Anouncments" were hilarious. A scoatch funnier if you have some reference to the 3rd and 3.5 Ed D&D manuals, but all the jokes are pretty solid D&D material. Some serious adult humor So not for the young at heart or sensitive souls among us.
The PHB PSA's
"No one outside of the mountain knows anything about dwarves!"

You know, early on in this thread, we were talking a lot about whether or not the recommended webcomic/fiction involved roleplaying in any way. Well, Irregular Webcomic has two whole themes set in GURPs campaigns, and Darths and Droids is literally a recreation of the entire Star Wars saga...as a tabletop RPG. As an aside, after I finish adapting the current episode, I will create an original episode for this not really that awful mess of a fanfic largely involving D&D. So, you know, you heard it here first.

Honestly, I think I like that proposal better without any context.

Anyone here a fan of Dragonball Z Abridged? It ended abruptly recently, after wrapping up the Cell Saga. It's hard to believe it's been going on for 11 years. Then again, I remember some MySpace jokes in the first episode, so I guess it really has been that long.

If you've got some free time during the remainder of the year, you might want to check this out. It's a web series that is about the Headless Horseman story, but told in modern times with a few twists. It's a great comedy with lots of great guest stars (like Matt Mercer, Ginny Di, and one big one in the finale that I won't spoil). You can find the playlist here.
