Bayla grunts. That answer is acceptable.
"Well Daos here talked a little sense into 'em. The council, I mean. They wanted us to wipe out the whole damn tribe. But Daos told 'em what we found - that they're being whipped up or controlled or some such by a human. We think a human mage. Daos argued getting rid of that mage should make 'em passive again. So the council tells us 'kill or capture,' but capturing is harder and they aren't offering any additional reward for it over killing him, so I mean to bury my axe blade in his forehead."

Quentein sighs in exasperation. “I wish I could say I was surprised...the council’s solution for anything is always to send somebody to kill it...”

Bayla chuckles.
"I can't complain too much about that. I'm still a mercenary, and thinking like that keeps mercs like me in business."
"Still, like I said back at the big building, our mark is moving and we are standing still. If the introductions are all outta the way lets get to work."

"It does make one wonder how they got elected or manage to remain in office," Daos comments. "But Bayla is right; we can talk more on the way."

"Of course," Jonas agrees. "Now, the Lun-Chu orcs reside somewhere within three miles of the Sen-Tok border, which is a mile or two from here. To get there, we'll have to pass through a nearby forest and over the Drul River."

"Is that river ford-able this time of year, or do we need to get to a bridge or bring a boat or some nonsense like that?"

“There’s a bridge across it at the route we usually take, so that’s not a concern,” Jonas elaborates.

"Is that the same route the orcs will take?" Bayla asks.
"Wonder if we could get ahead of 'em and set up some kind of trap?"

Once they are on the road again, Daos asks, "This forest you mentioned. Are there any dangers within you know about?"

Once they are on the road again, Daos asks, "This forest you mentioned. Are there any dangers within you know about?" "There's a mild problem with wolves, but it's not serious," Quentein answers.

"My question about the orcs?" Bayla reminds the men, gruffly.

"My question about the orcs?" Bayla reminds the men, gruffly. “Sorry. The river stretches across almost the entirety of the border, so they’ll likely do the same as us. Of course, being able to set a trap is unlikely, but we can be prepared for one.”

"Wolves sound serious to me," Daos notes. "But I suppose we have little choice. So how did you two get roped into this? Or did you volunteer?" he asks, curious.

"Wolves sound serious to me," Daos notes. "But I suppose we have little choice. So how did you two get roped into this? Or did you volunteer?" he asks, curious. “Well, maybe for your average traveler or merchant,” Quentein says. “But nobody who isn’t a trained fighter goes into Sen-Tok.” In response to Daos’ question, Jonas answers, “The first; after the Lun-Chu attack, we were the most experienced member of the guard.” After standing to the side for a while, Melvin finally asks, “Got any plans in case the Orcs left anyone to ambush us?” ”Depends,” Quentein replies. “How good are you at hiding?”

"We should, in fact, probably expect that they left someone behind," Daos comments. "They have already done so once before. Although strangely, they did not leave behind their own people, but instead hired some goblins."
