Lillian sits down as well, yet again letting Ladonna do the talking. While she felt she had made long strides in being more sociable, she didn’t feel confident enough to speak out of order in conversation with nobility.

Ladonna sits down to the right of Helen, putting her directly across from the countess. Lillian sits on Helen's left side, putting her directly across from the teenage boy. Finbul and Jonas sit to Lillian's left, putting themselves across from the brown haired boy and white haired boy. Meanwhile, Ingot and Liala sit to the right of Ladonna, putting them across the teenage girl and younger girl.
"Well met, Dame Marche," the count says. "Allow me to introduce myself and my family. I am Gladwell Solan, Count of Solanshire. This is my wife, Countess Miriam. These are my boys, Eowin," he gestures to the teenager, "Raphael," he gestures to the brown haired boy, "Victor," he gestures to the white haired boy, "and James," he gestures to the red haired child. "And my daughters, Joy," he gestures to the red haired teenager, "and Melody," he gestures to the white haired girl.
"Jonas Marche of Buho, father of Dame Marche, at your service," Jonas says.
"Ingot Tenhammer of...Buho, son of...Mattin Tenhammer of...Buho," Ingot says.
"Liala Lavallen of Buho, daughter of Shawyn of Buho," Liala adds.
"Finbul Padner of Buho, son of Fulvus of Buho," Finbul goes last.
"Quite a much larger group than we had been expecting," Count Solan observes. "We were told that Baron Escott only hired three women to watch over his daughter."

"Ah, yes," Ladonna says, chuckling slightly as she looks over their quite large group. "The Baron did only hire three of us, unfortunately one of us couldn't make it," she explains. "So it is only myself and Lillian that has actually been hired to escort Lady Escott. Finbul, Liala, Ignot, and my father are a little like our advisers. They have been with Lillian and I on our adventures in and around Buho. Without them, we wouldn't have had this opportunity, My Lord."

Lillian pours herself some tea from a pitcher, yet again staying quiet, as Ladonna had answers the baron to her satisfaction.

"I see. And Lillian would be the elven woman who has not spoken or introduced herself then?" Count Solan asks. "Does she not speak Tardish? I'm afraid I've only picked up a handful of words and phrases in Elven over the years, mostly from my adventuring days." "As your advisors are not actually in the baron's employ, I assume they will be staying in town then?" Countess Miriam asks, speaking for the first time.

"She is normally rather quiet, my lord," Ladonna says, but she shoots Lillian a look that suggests she had better introduce herself before she addresses the countess. 'My lady, I wouldn't dream of imposing on you and your family, so once we are more settled, it was my hope to find lodging for the extra people that we brought with us."

“My apologies, my lord,” Lillian finally speaks up. “I did not find it fitting to interject.”

"I see," Countess Miriam replies. "Well, under normal circumstances, guests and their escorts remain in the guesting house. But as you are a special guest, Lady Escott, we have set up a room for you here in the manor. A servant will take you there once you have finished eating to help you get settled in. As for your own two servants, we can have them set up in the guesting house."
"I had hoped, actually, to keep them close to me," Helen says, speaking up.
"Oh, they will be close, dear," Miriam says. "The guesting house is just a stone's throw away."
"My father sent them to protect me--"
"There is no need for protection, dear, the manor is the safest place to be in all of Solanshire," Miriam interrupts.
Helen looks between Ladonna and Lillian silently, as if lost and not sure how to proceed.

"My lady," Ladonna says to the countess. "Lady Escott is new to Hart, and all of this is unfamiliar to her. Having her two escorts, whom she is familiar with and trusts, remain by her side will help her adjust to her new surroundings. I also believe, my lady, that we would not be doing our job if we didn't remain by her side."

"Indeed," Lillian chimes in. "The baron hired us for a reason; that bit of additional security and peace of mind goes a long way."

The countess looks to her husband for support. Gladwell strokes his chin in thought a moment before speaking. "There is one more free room in the manor that could be set up. You two would have to share it, and it's on a floor lower than Lady Escott's room. However, if you are to live within my house, you are to follow my rules." He looks between Ladonna and Lillian. "You two have a reputation for dealing with problems. If I find I have need for your special talents, you will avail them to me. I will see to it you are properly compensated of course. I trust there are no problems with that?"
Helen bows her head in gratitude. "Thank you, my lord."

"I don't see any problems with that, my Lord," Ladonna says with a bow of her head. "Thank you, my Lord."

"Very good then, it's settled," Count Solan states. "Now then, I trust your journey here was pleasant?"
"It was, my lord. Although we were beset by bandits on the road, but my protectors easily vanquished them," Helen replies.
"Bandits? Between Hart and Buho?" Miriam asks, concerned.
"They called themselves 'Wyld Boys,' my lady," Helen elaborates.
"Ah, yes, I've heard of them," Gladwell says. "A bunch of thieves, murderers and outlaws that live somewhere in the wilderness. They are becoming more and more of a nuisance these days. As if things weren't bad enough with the Equalists and Lohman's Blades."

"What is going on with the Equalist and Lohman's Blades, my Lord?" Ladonna asks curiously.

“Equalists?” Lillian asks, particularly intrigued. They sounded like either anti-nobility revolutionaries or non-humans fighting discrimination with violence.
