I really want this one- Feature: Child of Takhisis Infiltrator You have infiltrated the ranks of the Children of Takhisis. Having spied on the organization for quite some time, you are familiar with its inner workings and customs. You have a second identity as an initiate of the cult, enough of a facade to blend in as a simple grunt or servant.
Mmmmmm. How much freedom do we have in the campigan, in choosing sides and all that? And... now I cant find my rolls. What is going on in this mysteriouse forum?

As a former member of the Children of Takhisis, I envisioned Caelin taking the Takhisis Imposter feature replacing the Acolyte feature. Primarily because I don't see the Acolyte feature offering any advantage if it relates directly to his role in the Cult. It is, however, a background he will likely keep from his fellow players due to a mix of guilt and shame, a fact he won't likely share until such time as he feels he can trust his companions, though, by that point he may fear their judgement and keep his secret for fear of losing his companions trust.

Anyway, yeah, nothing is set in stone just yet, so just let me know what you want to change I'm gonna swap my Greatsword for a Longsword and Shield. And I'm going to go with Dueling for my first Fighting Style, since all of this will synergize better once I make the transition over to Shield and Lance from horseback.

There are a number of factions involved in the game's story. They play a small role at first, but a bigger one in the second half of the adventure. These factions will approve or disapprove of the party's actions, depending on what they do. For instance, say the party is sent to deal with a cruel tyrant that abuses his subjects. If they decide to slip into his keep and slit his throat in the middle of the night, the Legion of Steel may approve (as they hate tyranny) but the Knights of Solamnia will not (because they would see killing someone in their sleep as a dishonorable act). If you can earn enough approval from different factions, they will try and aid the party in their endeavors and may even allow PCs to join their ranks (or if they are already members, climb the ranks further). Your rolls are still up in the recruitment thread, here.

I'm not sure. What does 'collapse text' mean? Something akin to the Spoiler function on GitP, so we can put large chunks of text under collapsible tabs.

Oh, yeah. It's the button on the far right. It looks like a smiley face with a finger over the mouth, as if going 'Shush!'

@daos: A request for modification of Conard's stat block. I envision him wearing simple quilted arming garments under his Scale. The silks and tights would be rolled up in his pack for traveling. Can't have some beast or brigands getting their blood on his good shirt afterall.

Okay, done. Makes sense, as he is just arriving into town.

I see that we seem to be running with encumbrance. I suppose we can dump our backpacks at the start of a fight but that would take an action?

It totally should take at least an action. It's incentive to not get caught with our pants down Or at least to pick up a donkey and a wagon pretty quick.

That's a good question. Dropping your pack is a free action in 2E, so I assumed it was in 5E, too.

That's a good question. Dropping your pack is a free action in 2E, so I assumed it was in 5E, too. Most 5e games I've been in straight up ignore graduated encumbrance since it's an optional rule, so it hasn't really come up before. Overall, 5e is a relatively rule-lite and gives a lot of latitude to the DM, and I'm certainly not going to complain about that ruling. Free action economy is great.

Generally, as a DM, I don't care about encumbrance unless you try to do something real silly with it. Like take an entire solid gold statue or whatever.
I'm not a huge fan of nitpicky details, as player or a DM.
Also, ETA on IC?

I don't think I've ever run a game before that didn't use Encumbrance. I guess to me, it's just a standard part of the game at this point.
Anyway, as for when we'll go IC, probably pretty soon. Four of the PCs are complete. I don't think we'll wait for Liang, since I haven't heard anything from him since Thursday. So that leaves JNAProductions, Kvard, Igordragonian and Horizons. I'll give them another couple of days. Maybe Wednesday, if possible.
