Well most of you have never heard of Kender before, but here I am! And I never heard of a Tore-Hill until -everyone- I met was from there. And Ravenloft, I don't really know if it's a world or some place lost between worlds. I just wandered into the Sithicus Mists and when i wandered out again I was gone! There werent even any mists to wander back through!
But I know I must have gone somewhere waaaay different, because you guys have a shiny moon! In Sithicus we didnt have a moon, not really. Some of the elves said we did but it was so dark you couldn't see it. And they said it was from another world where we used to all live before, but we were trapped in purgatory with Soth who became a terrible-bad evil after maybe being a really good guy. But I dunno anything about that really. So yeah, I'm not from round these parts, pardner.
Kendrivel will store the stone for more long-term safekeeping.

"Kobolds," Harikon replies, frowning at the memory. "Little bastards ambushed us yesterday. Luckily we were able to drive them off without them stealing much or hurting any of our merchants and their families. But me and my men took a beating. I got this from a flaming arrow," he says, indicating his wound. "But my men and I appreciate the healing. We're close to Shadowdale, so hopefully we don't run into anything dangerous before getting there. But then again, I said the same thing yesterday, too."
Malavar casts a spell of healing on the two guards in worst shape, and manages to help bring them back up to being on par with the other guards. He also helps in bandaging them all up a bit, which doesn't seem to help in speeding up their recovery any, but at least will help keep infections at bay, hopefully.
"Sleeping illness? I think I heard something about that," Harikon says. "Just rumors and hearsay, but something about a disease in Dagger Falls that was causing people to fall asleep, and slowly die. The 'official' story is that Randal Morn and his Freedom Riders were behind it, and the Zhents saved the day. But if that's actually true, I'll eat my hat. Sounds like Zhent propaganda to me."
==============
Malavar casts Cure Light Wounds on Guard 14, restoring (1d8): 4 HP. She improves from critically to moderately wounded. Malavar casts Cure Light Wounds on Guard 15, restoring (1d8): 3 HP. He improves from critically to seriously wounded. Malavar makes a healing check (1d20): 18, fail.

Drezden chuckles "Oh it definitely is a zhent spun tale. I was there trust me it wasn't them. They just took the credit for the work I and my comrades at the time did. So don't go off eating your hat any time soon Harikon."

"Glad to hear it," Harikon says. "Well, thanks again for healing my men. We'll be moving on in a bit. It was nice meeting you all. And good luck in Daggerdale."

"Well met and thank you, Commander," Malavar replies.
"Drezden, Dallion - shall we continue?"

Drezden nods his head "Yes let's continue and the kender can come with us if he so wishes."

Hearing Drezden's comment, Kendrivel's head snaps up abruptly; his shaggy mop of hair dancing around like some small animal atop his head. You want me to come too!!! he says excitedly. Well I guess I can't disappoint you, I am pretty great at a bunch of stuff and I just bet you guys are going on adventure most awesome!! Why I'd be happy to joi... uhh... Turning back he realizes the caravan and Harikon are headed the opposite direction.
The short fellow's head whips back and forth between the two, a couple of times, then he straightens himself up seriously. One moment, please. he says to Drezden, quite seriously. Marching in only a slightly over-exaggerated manner he treads up to Harikon. With a stiff, and unintentionally comical, salute he addresses the man. Sir, Commander Harikon-sir, SIR! Request permission to protect the adventurer-er-ers in their adventures... er... SIR!
[once given the answer he will grab his stuff and run off towards the others] With one final thought he will take something randomly from his pockets and toss it to Harikon. For luck!
=== lol. please, luck, let it be something breakable or dangerous

"Uh, by all means, go," Harikon says, almost a little too eagerly to be rid of the kender.
Before leaving, Kendrivel pulls something random from his pouches and tosses it to Harikon. It's a small vial of clear liquid bearing a symbol of a gauntlet on it. Harikon is unprepared to catch it. The vial hits his helm, breaking and dripping the water all over him. Fortunately, he is not undead or fiendish, so no harm comes to him beyond that. He just curses at the kender as he runs off.

"He can do WHAT?" Malavar hisses to Drezden when the kender marches in the other direction. "What possible use do you believe this chattering...person...could be on our mission?"

Drezden whispers back "Well if he can't stop yammering loud bait. I think he has other skills that might help too." he says trying to calm Malavar down. Though really the dwarf enjoys the company of the kender.

Malavar cannot quite restrain his disbelief at Drezden's optimism. "I...well, fine then! But you're responsible for him not getting in the way!"

With that decided, the group of now four continue onward, as the caravan moves the opposite direction, toward Shadowdale.
It's a fine spring morning, with clear blue skies. Nearby birds sing and chirp. And there's a pleasant, cool breeze as they travel.

(OOC: Now that there's a new person in the group, might be a good time to decide on a new marching order.)

"Drezden, you've been here before. How far do we have to go to get to Dagger Falls?" Malavar asks.
