Perhaps "Junk" delivered lumber or sold extra deer and rabbits he killed to the monastery. He certainly isn't an enlightened kind, but he would have been friendly and neighborly to them as he was to most everyone. It is easier to survive when the community works together so his momma always said.

That works for me too. That means that Indaura would be at least familiar with Junk and Kvard's character. Though, since I gave her the hermit background, she won't be intimately familiar with the two of them.

It's been crazy busy at work, plus some family stuff going on, so it pulled me away from this. I just want to reassure folks I am committed to seeing this thing through, and just recently put up a recruitment thread on the GitP Boards to draw in up to 3 more players so we can get started.
I've got some hooks for each character currently, and when I have more time tomorrow I will post them up and get to know your characters, and start integrating you into the scenario.

No rush or worries. I had a super busy day today and should be writing up a DM post over on GitP but can't quite get motivated.

Character thoughts: Ok, the obvious hook her is Silas, so I'm thinking of patterning him off of Davos from the Game of Thrones, less thief in the D&D sense, more Smuggler. Given the proximity of the Merrideth River, and the use of waterways for the transport of goods, Silas' former, unsavory occupation, was using his skills to smuggle goods and people into and out of Nirmathas during it's Occupation. Now for that timeline to work (Occupation ended in 4655, current year is 4717) he'd have to be a long lived race as well. I'm thinking Dwarf, if that works for you. So he knows alot about coves, caves, and such along the water ways, how to pilot a boat, how to sneak by river and such. Obviously retired now, and smugling isn't that big of a deal in Nirmathas as there aren't much laws in the way of trades, tariffs and taxes, but he can still get what folks in Phaendar as surprisingly good deals. So, I kind of want to say No to the whole, you trade with the Order that the monk comes from. It's more secretive than that, BUT, the Green Faith is well received in Nirmathas, and is very druidic in nature. It also has a shrine, the Riverwood Shrine, in Phaendar, and the Green Faith and the Oaken Order do trade, you just won't know of them directly until Indaura speaks of them, if she does. However, you do have a mentor in the town, Aubrin "the Green" is a former Chernasardo Ranger and cleric of Cayden Cailean living in Phaendar. She was born without a left foot. Despite this, Aubrin, also known as Abby, joined the Chernasardo Rangers. After being saved from an errant crossbow bolt by a pewter mug, Aubrin became a cleric of the Drunken God. After being partially blinded by the acid of an ankheg, Aubrin settled down in Phaendar where she is known for her strong personality and stronger language. So she has probably taken a liking to you, kind of put you under her wing. Does that work for you? Half Elf Monk, in a wilderness scenario, heh, I like it! It did make me work though! So here we have it, you are a member of the Wyrd of the Oak Eternal. It's an organization tied closely to the Green Faith, a de-centralized Druidic belief, which is widely followed in Nirmathas. However, the Wyrd is a secret organization, it has Druids at the top, with a martial council of Paladins (Ancient Order), Rangers and Monks beneath it. I kind of envision it's stances, forms being named for nature, like Oak stands against the River, Willow yields before Storms, and attacks like Waterfall Crashes on Stone, River flows through Rapids, stuff like that ... flavor as you will. I'd also allow you to pick up either Druidic or Sylvan as a bonus language if you want. Now, you would have a contact within Phaendar, the caretaker of the Riverwood Shrine, Noelan, who trades with local trappers and provides the Wyrd with information, gossip, and such, as required.

That works for me. Is there anything else we need to go through?

I just want to take a look at the three new submissions, druid, hexblade and wizard, potentially and we'll go from there.
I'll probably edit existing characters into a finalized character thread. Post up an NPC thread for major, or recurring NPC's and go from there.
Once I get that done over the weekend we could start with some light RP to get into character while waiting on the final few PC's rounding out the party.

Works for me.
I will write out the actual background of my character, much in the same way that Daos did (because I've been in so many of his games that I'm just kind of hardwired that way) before I go to bed tonight.

And like I promised, I edited my character sheet on page one with background, personality, and appearance.

It's been about a month since we've heard anything, and not trying to rush you or anything, but I was curious if we could get a status update on this game?

It's been about four months since we last heard anything on this game. Should I just assume it's not going to happen and archive the forum?
