Things are pretty much back to normal around here now.
The renovators never came back after that last post, which was bad because there was a lot left undone. For instance, they had taken down the bathroom mirrors and left them in the hall. These are full length mirrors, like nearly five feet wide, and they were way too heavy to even move (and they set them against the washer/dryer, making it very difficult to reach them). So we had to call the apartment management to send them back to fix that. Then we had to have them send maintenance to fix a number of things they didn't install properly. For instance, the garbage disposal in the kitchen sink didn't work at all, and it leaked water all over the place whenever the water was turned on. The dishwasher wasn't bolted into place properly. And so on. But it's all been fixed now.
They were supposed to replace the window blinds, too, but didn't. My roommate called and complained, and supposedly they are supposed to return next week to do that. Although to be honest, I'd rather they didn't. I'd rather them just be gone forever, and not have to deal with this stuff anymore. I don't care about new blinds that much.
As for my cold, I had to call into work on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. But I managed to get paid sick time for them, at least. I was off Thursday, Saturday and today, so the only day I actually went in was Friday. It was rough. My symptoms had subsided, but I was still very low energy. But I managed to push through with some caffeine to help. I think I'm more or less fine now, though, and should be able to return to work on Monday normally.

Well, I'm happy that things seem to have go back to normal and that you feel better! Let's hope they ignore the complaints about the blinds then based on their previous showing of professionalism it wouldn't surprise me that much xD

Well, they didn't come by today, at least. There's still the rest of the week, but we'll see.

Well, they came today to change out the blinds.
The good news is, I was out getting a haircut at the time, and by the time I returned, they were literally just leaving. So at least that's over with. I had to move my bed, though, and it's going to be a pain moving back, but oh, well.

I started a new job, and I'm still trying to get used to my new schedule... I'll try to not fall too behind, but I have way less time and (most importantly) energy ;_;

I'm involved in 9 games (6 of which I DM), and I recently got pretty overwhelmed when 5 of those games went into combat at the same time. If it helps, here's a technique I developed when you're trying to post but don't have the time/energy. Strive to update one game a day, cycling through them, instead of trying to do them all at once.
There are several benefits to this. First, when you're low on time and energy and you sit down to update, having to do all of the updates together can feel insurmountable at times, and that may encourage you to continue putting it off, which means falling further behind. But only updating one game is far easier and less time consuming. Second, once you get the cycle going, that means none of the games you are involved in are behind more than a few days, which by pbp terms isn't even late. This helps alleviate the feelings of guilt of leaving everyone waiting on you. It also gives you a feeling of making some progress, rather than none at all.

I'll try to follow it through, and things are getting a bit better so I should be able to post more frenquently now (hopefully).

I’ve come down with a terrible stomach bug, and I probably won’t be able to post for a day or two.

sorry I had some stuff going on at the end of last week and then some time off and other stuff kind of got distracted a bit and forgot to check the forums here for a bit. I just realized now that it was probably a few days since I had been on here.

Alright, well I didn't go any further into things today but been still helping the maintenance/custodial team. Also got a bit of sad news when I finally got a hold of one of my uncles today. He's in rough shape going back home after months of being bounced around the hospitals. He's going into home hospice care, some disease is shutting down his kidneys and heart. He is my father's oldest brother and one of my favorite uncles. I broke my heart to hear this news but unfortunately I should have seen it coming what with how long he's been hospitalized since having had pneumonia months ago. He is in his early 81 and been a widower for a good 8+ years now. Always a man with a great sense of humor, and always liked to leave folks laughing. So my attending to the forums may be a bit more sporadic than normal. I find this has touched my heart emotionally to hear him say it verbally to me that he knows he hasn't got long.
