To be fair, Horizons has been a member here for 18 years now. If her membership was a person, they'd be able to vote now.

If we had some rope, how high is the ledge if they decided to climb down the side of the cliff now that the trail is gone? This may also be useful info if he has to throw himself off the cliff rather than spend too long with the tinker-gnomes don't want to limp away from that $#it...
According to the module, the drop from the cliff is around 120 feet. By 2E rules, that would be 12d6 damage if you fell from that height. Wow, that's more than the most potent Fireball.

Might be necessary...
So for the sake of discussion; rapelling down with a good solid rope i'm figuring base climb+55%(rope and wall) would give most of us abt 95% chance - armor penalties?
How total is the collapse of the path before and do our ropes still hang tied over where it once was?

Sha'al's and Arthogate's ropes are still tied together and secured at the landing. But that's only 100 feet of rope, so it doesn't quite reach.
As for rappelling, the PHB says:
Base chances are: Sha'al 70% Twill 50% Everyone Else 40%
Add either 30 or 50 depending on whether the rope is secured at the bottom or not. Additional penalties would include:
-15% Granker and Sumina for armor -10% Arthogate for being dwarven -15% Granker and Parra for being minotaurs -10% for anyone who is at half HP or lower (Sha'al, Granker) And then -5% for each level of encumbrance you are at (I haven't recalculated for the 22 lbs of coin you just picked up yet, but assuming you spread it out evenly, it shouldn't make too much a difference).
So some of you have pretty decent odds (Sha'al would have 100% if the bottom of the rope is secure, 80% if not) and others not so much (Granker would have 55% if the bottom is secure and 35% if not).
But again, the two ropes tied together wouldn't reach 120 feet anyway.

Hmm, i must have been thinking of the traditional "rope and wall" bonus from table 66 of the phb. Rappelling is fast descent, after all. The only footnote i see is that one must brace their feet. 55+40 - penalties. Of course if the armored folks took their armor off it improves.
What are Sha'al's odds for crossing the tied rope, untying one end, and climbing back?

I'm not sure how that would work. The returning part, I mean.
The rope is still tied off between two points (a column at the landing and a boulder, if I remember correctly). Most of the trail is gone. So he could theoretically use the rope to reach the boulder, but if he untied it, I'm not sure how he would return to the landing. Unless he like...swung into the cliff wall and then climbed up? I imagine he'd take a bit of damage doing that, though.

I suppose that depends on the nature of the trail and How far down the trail collapsed. It was described as a path, right? Not a suspension bridge? I would presume that it had some wider base as support it, so there would be some limit to it's fall less severe than tnhe full 120 ft drop? So it might be possible to hold the newly free end on the far side and carefully climb down the collapse in the direction of the tower?
Or if it was a ledge against a cliff, could he side-climb the cliff face back?

The path was a ledge against the cliff, so yes, theoretically he could try and side-climb once he has secured the rope.

Sha'al reaction to the Gnomes was hilarious, this module is a systematic attempt to break his psyche! 🤭

So what all did we have in the cart we left past the now-collapsed trail?

Nothing. Sha'al took everything on it with him, so it sits empty now.

So I'm guessing Horizon's has been here since the start then? I mean I have been here for a few years or so but I can't catch that post count any time soon.
