It's a bit confusing for people like me, though. I tried looking up "D&D egg" but got pictures of actual eggs.

Yeah, his father was also named Ernest, so he called himself Gary (his middle name) to help avoid confusion, I guess. "EGG" is something of a shorthand old school gamers like to use online to refer to him. Faster/easier than typing out his whole name. or some of us just say GG or Gygax... I've also heard the term Gygaxian but honestly have no idea what the meaning is behind that one.
Edit: never mind looked it up.
Gygaxian As pertaining to Gary Gygax, late co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons. Noted for extremely lethal traps and puzzles which rewarded the player for proceeding with paranoid caution. Frequently resulting in total party kills or instant death or dismemberment of a character.

Come to think of it, how many resources has Narya used up? I haven't been keeping track...

I'm pretty sure she hasn't cast any spells yet at all today.

What spells has Daos memorized? Can't tell from looking at the character sheet.

I was pretty sure Narya also could pick locks. She is a Thief & Mage after all.

She only has a 25% chance, but yeah, may as well give it a shot.

I was pretty sure Narya also could pick locks. She is a Thief & Mage after all. Gee, if you want. If there's no consequence for failure, we may as well "take 20."

Failure means you can't try again until you level up as a thief.

Ah, ok. Forgive the ignorance of an uppity 5E player. Open Locks: MST30gkN1d1001d100

no harm no foul IMO Gravity. Narya fails to pick the lock. Alright that settles that unless Q or anyone else has knock. Which he (Q) currently does not, he doesn't have that spell in his book either.

Would the door happen to be constructed so that we can lift it off its hinges?

Knock is a 2nd level spell, so I doubt anyone has it since they'd have to be at least level 3. That's why I brought up leaving and returning. It's possible we may have accumulated enough XP by now to level up. But I'm not sure.
