Kalana moves to pick up the papers on the floor, but she can't make anything of them. "Bayla, can you see what these say?" she asks.

Bayla picks up a few papers and shuffles through them. "Most of this is written in Dwarven, so no," she admits. "I might be able to find something, though. Let me check." She starts systematically collecting the papers and going through them.

Brax makes his way to the cabin "Eh what's this about dwarven? You talking about them papers? I'll take a look then if you'd like."

"Yes, do you know how to read?" Bayla asks him.

While the papers are being dealt with, Kalana takes the time to go through the desk to see if she can find anything else.

The desk has a few drawers in it. One has a bunch of additional sea charts. Another one has a thick book filled with numbers--cargo manifests, perhaps? There is also a small key in this one.

"There is a lot of numbers in this one, so maybe cargo stuff," Kalana says as she picks up the key. She walks over to the chest in the room, and uses the key to open it.

Unlocking the chest, Kalana finds a beautifully made leather bandoleer. It holds 70 firearm bullets in it. Twenty have a red dwarf rune carved on them, twenty have a blue dwarf rune on them, twenty have a yellow dwarf rune on them, and the remaining ten have a white dwarf rune on them.

Brax takes a look at the papers in dwarven and reads them aloud.

Kalana holds up the bandoleer and looks it over. "This is nice," she says. "Once we find out what has happened to the dwarves on this ship, if they aren't here anymore, it might be a good idea to come back for it."

"Oh, here's something," Bayla says, finding a piece of paper among the pile. "It's in Elven. Looks like a receipt from Tu'Valie for several tons of spices. It's not much, but it's something I can read." She looks over it. "Looks like this is a Guild ship called the Spitfire, and they bought the spices a few days before the attack on Tu'Valie."
"That was almost two months ago," Auli'i comments. "Looks like they never made it to their destination."

"Alright, let's head down below to see of we can learn anything else " Kalana says before she leads the group down below deck.

Brax never formally learned to read, but he recognizes a few words here or there. 'Profit' and 'cargo' and 'guild.' Some of the pages are dated, suggesting they may be log entries. Looking through the dates, he tries to find the most recent one, which is dated two months ago. He finds one unusual word in that entry, the dwarven word for 'song.' But most of the rest is gibberish to him.
Kalana exits the small cabin and moves to the hanging open cargo bay doors. Peering inside, she can see the entire cargo bay is partially flooded. There is a rope ladder leading down, but it's quite dark, so she can't make out much of what's down there from her current vantage point.

"We could use a little light down here," Kalana says to the others.
