Well. To get Nuitari's favor, Parra need to *act* evil, and the module is built upon the idea that the group is heroic. Unless as usual I get something wrong. Actually, all of the modules assume the party is heroic. Dragonlance is big on the battle between Good and Evil, and as far as I know, every single published adventure assumes the party is Good. But regardless, Nuitari is an Evil god, but he is not a god of Evil. That is to say, if you think the only way to gain his favor is to torture and kill children, and because I asked you all not to do this means you cannot earn his favor in this adventure, that's wrong on multiple accounts. First, Nuitari is Lawful Evil, and very big on following the rules. He did co-found the Orders of High Sorcery, after all. So going around causing chaos and destruction, murdering innocents for chuckles, and so forth, would not only fail to please him, it would probably anger him. After all, such behavior would paint all wizards in a bad light. Anything that hurts the reputation of magic is a bad thing, even to him. Second, Nuitari is the god of dark magic (Enchantment/Charm and Necromancy), magical ambition, and magical secrets. Those are the sorts of things that earn his favor. Parra killing children because they annoy her wouldn't appeal to any of those. Can cantrip be used to set the bushes on fire? You can read what cantrips can do here. But the short answer is you could if you soak the bushes in oil or some other fuel first. Evocation cantrips can create "miniature colored flames" and "sparks" but they are the equivalent of a lit match. You could use them to light a candle or lantern, or ignite something very flammable (paper, oil, etc.) but to burn an entire bush would probably take 5-6 rounds of careful blowing on it and adding kindling to get it stoked enough to do more than smolder slightly. Sort of. Illusionary cantrips can only create a single sensory effect. So she could make it smell like something was on fire, or make it sound like something was on fire, or make it look like something was on fire, but not all three. Visual Illusionary cantrips are also stationary and two-dimensional. So the 'fire' would be flat as a piece of paper, not move, smell or cackle, nor would it provide any light. So suffice to say, it would be very unconvincing. The Baaz would likely get a very large bonus to their rolls against being fooled by it. |
