CH. 01 - Worst Job Ever

Sumina continues to struggle against the webbing as she tries to get out of it. "Ugh, what are they singing about?" she mutters.

Kaelestia uses all of her strenght to cover as much distance as to exit the web. Freedom was so so close.

The two baaz that Granker killed both crumble to dust at this point, which means his katar sword is freed and drops to the ground.  The other petrified baaz, that Parra skewered, remains standing, though.

The bozak moves to Granker, chanting a spell.  Electricity begins cackling around its claws, and it reaches out to touch the gladiator, but he dodges in time to avoid the discharge.  Parra then moves forward, her hooves crunching on the dust that once comprised of the baaz stabbed by Granker's sword, and chants a spell of her own.  "Kair tangus miopiar!" she cries, and flame leaps forth from her extended fingers, licking at the two draconians.  The bozak quickly shields himself with his wings, taking only slight burns, but the oversized baaz takes the full blast, leaving blistering burns on his once glossy brass scales.  The giant baaz continues his assault on Granker, missing with one claw but slashing with the other pretty hard, leaving Granker bloodied.

Meanwhile, Sumina, Arthogate and Kaelestia continue to slowly but surely break their way through all of the webbing.  It gets in their hair, tugs at their clothes and equipment, and stings when ripped off their skin.  Sha'al, however, remains completely stuck, as does Ferd who just brays helplessly.

The kender stop singing, as they are now on the edge of their seats at the arcane display below them.  They 'ooh' and 'ahh' at the cackling electricity and dancing flames.

Once she finally breaks free from the web, Kaelestia runs along the webbing 'till she has the two draconians in range for her sling.
She takes aim and then shoot one of her bullets toward the injured baaz, trying to take him out.

Just as Parra remarks on it, the final baaz statue crumbles to dust, freeing her shatang which clatters to the ground.  The bozak and giant baaz continue their assault on Granker, but the gladiator is able to avoid them both.  Both he and Parra attack the giant baaz, but miss.

Meanwhile, the others continue struggling against the webbing.  Kaelestia actually manages to tear herself free, and ignoring the pain of where the webbing was ripped off her hair and skin, she moves around the webbing as far as she can and sets a bullet into her sling.  The baaz is behind Granker, but he's actually larger than the minotaur, so she can target him anyway.  She slings the stone toward the giant baaz, but it just bounces off its brassy scales harmlessly.
