Eliana was keeping a calm facade as Talia spoke, but on the inside, Eliana was freaking out. She wanted nothing more than to run out of that room to try to process what she was hearing. "So this blessing gave you some of Frost's powers?" she asks. "That was the white dragon overlord, if I am remembering my history correctly." she says "If I'm understanding this correctly, then those that have been "blessed" with the powers of the dragon Overlords are working with the cult, what part do you play in the resurrection?"

Chantilly can't help herself from going "oooooh" when Talia reveals her scales: "Those are so pretty! Were you born with these? Are they hard to clean? Do yours also increase in number when you grow more powerful? Does this mean that you'll eventually become a dragon?" - she asks, excited about this topic. Maybe Lady Eliana would have finally found her answers there.

"So this blessing gave you some of Frost's powers?" she asks. "That was the white dragon overlord, if I am remembering my history correctly." she says "If I'm understanding this correctly, then those that have been "blessed" with the powers of the dragon Overlords are working with the cult, what part do you play in the resurrection?" "That's correct. Frost, or Gellidus as some called him, the White Overlord, Tyrant of the Ice," Talia confirms. "You know, I actually met him. In fact, I was part of the Whitescale Society, before it disbanded. In any case, when I joined the Children, it was my belief that those who were dragon-touched such as I would be of great importance. But..." She frowns a bit sourly. "Clearly there are those who disagree, since I've been stationed here, in the middle of nowhere." Chantilly can't help herself from going "oooooh" when Talia reveals her scales: "Those are so pretty! Were you born with these? Are they hard to clean? Do yours also increase in number when you grow more powerful? Does this mean that you'll eventually become a dragon?" - she asks, excited about this topic. Maybe Lady Eliana would have finally found her answers there. "Not born with them, no, they manifested about only a few years ago," Talia answers. "They...wait. What do you mean 'also?'"

Eliana looks to Chantilly in disbelief before she lets out a sigh. "I have the same blessing as you call it," she finally admits. She pushes her hair back behind her ear to reveal the patch of blue scales around her eye.

The half-elven woman leans forward in interest. "Khellendros," she says. "So you, too, are blessed. You've had the dreams then? You've felt Her call?"

Chantilly returns the look to Eliana, smiling at her, happy that she finally had someone to relate to about her condition.
"Why don't you like being here? The view is lovely and the air is fresh! Would you prefer living in Borngrey's stinky castle?" - she asks.

"Given the current state of war, doubt this would be considered a prestigious post to improve one's chances of career." Henry remarks to Chantilly, the squire himself feeling a bit in the same predicament - sure, this mission needs to be done, but he can't help but wonder if Conard might be already a Knight while he had to hide his identity for months "Uhm, Talia, I was wondering. Did you have dreams telling you to join the Children or it was the other way around, you started having dreams after throwing your lot with them?" he asks the woman, trying to better understand the enemy since he really never had the chance to talk with one in such a frank and peaceful manner.

"Why don't you like being here? The view is lovely and the air is fresh! Would you prefer living in Borngrey's stinky castle?" "That wouldn't be any better, no," Talia says. "Honestly, I should be the one ruling the White Wing of the Children. Not that inept dwarf. He was just born rich, he hasn't earned the right to wear the White Mask," she seethes. "Uhm, Talia, I was wondering. Did you have dreams telling you to join the Children or it was the other way around, you started having dreams after throwing your lot with them?" "The dreams came first," Talia answers. "Visions of the world encased in ice, battered by acid storms, ravaged by lightning, burned into ash. At first, they seemed only simple nightmares. But I found they drove me, over time, to travel to certain places. There, I met like-minded people who introduced me to the Children."

"Well, given your disagreement with certain decisions, doesn't seem they're as like-minded as you initially thought." Henry says back, thinking it might be a good way to start driving a wedge inside the Children's ranks - until it dawns on him why they're having this conversation and shares his guess with the others "Oh, wait. I see. You want us to take care of this dwarf. To pave the way for your promotion." not that enthused to be a pawn in the cutthroat politics of the Cult.

"Who even is this dwarf? Was he blessed too?"

"I've had the dreams," Eliana says. "But while they did drive me to certain places, it didn't place me in the hands of the Children," she explains. "But, Henry is right isn't he?" she asks.

"Varram? Blessed? No. Well, blessed with being born rich, I suppose," Talia remarks. "In any case, as much as I would love for you to kill him, he's hundreds of miles from here. But there is another target, one whose name I assume you are familiar with, since you did apparently follow her here. Rezmir the Black Wyrmspeaker. Kill her, bring me her mask...and in return, I will aid you. I can get you into the flying citadel without harm."

"The black wyrmspeaker?" Eliana asks. "There is more than one wrymspeaker?"

Talia nods. "There are five, in fact. Black, White, Blue, Green and Red."

Henry - HP: 52\52 - Conditions: None - Active Effects: Aid--------------- "Well, first question that comes to my mind: why would we be interested in this flying citadel?" Henry asks even though he has already figured this citadel is the next leg of their journey - wait, did she say flying? "Uh, are we talking metaphorically or do the Children have a fortress that actually flies?" he says, quite befuddled by the revelation that the enemy has such a military asset at their disposal. The squire then shakes his head a bit, trying to regain his composure "And, uhm, about Rezmir. I assume you want us to kill her to hide your betrayal, but wouldn't your peers be suspicious when you show yourself with the Black Mask?" he keeps enquiring about Talia's plan, not that willing to trust her at face value "Unless you could prove to them you have dealt with her killers. You would have the Black Mask in your possession and raised your standing within the Children. So I would say that before proceeding further, we need some guarantees."{Spoiler}Don't know if it's needed, but here's an Insight roll to check if Talia is trying to double-cross us. |VBggVob1d20+4 1d20+4
