Ladonna says her thanks, and then heads off to the library to find Priestess Sern.

"Almost nothing," Lillian sighs. "It's like the last month slipped by me completely."

Ladonna Ladonna finds the library is largely empty of people, with two exceptions. Voltera Sern is there, sitting at a table with some open books, taking notes on some parchment. The other person is the old wizened man that Ladonna always sees here. He is sitting at a desk and slowly nodding off, but keeps starting back awake.
Lillian "Lady Helen's really keeping you busy, huh?" Finbul asks, dusting off his hands. "Well, at least you got a break today, it seems."

Ladonna approaches Voltera. She nods her head to the older man that is always there before she speaks softly. "Sadduce Sern, might I have a moment of your time?" she asks. She didn't want to ask her question with the older man sitting there.

"Yes, of course, Ser Marche," Sern says, gesturing to the seat across from her. "How are you holding up these days? I haven't seen you much since the loss of your parents."

"I'm doing better," Ladonna says. "The shock of their loss has worn off, but the loss is still there," she admits with a sigh. "Which is why I decided to seek you out actually. I was wanting to learn more about...myself." She was hoping that Sern would get an idea about what she meant. She already knew who she was right now, but she didn't know her past self. She had to be vague because she didn't know if the old sleeping guy could be trusted.

“Yes,” Lillian sighs, sounding exhausted. “How about you? How have things been going with you?”

Ladonna Voltera fishes her holy symbol from under her shirt and mutters a prayer with it. A semi-translucent bubble forms around the table, encasing them both. "We can speak freely now," she says, putting her icon back. "Nothing can be heard outside of this bubble, magically or otherwise."
Lillian "About the same," Finbul admits. "My family will probably be displaced from the ranch soon. I'm not really sure what to do. Oh, and no word from Liala at all. First Katya and Jherek and Theron...now her. At this rate, there won't be anyone left soon."

"Considering that the librarian is asleep half the time, he probably wouldn't even have picked up what we were talking about," Ladonna notes. "But, despite the fact that mother and father are dead, I still want to know more about the Ladonna that lived here before I took over. What was she like?"

"Honestly, I'd say it wouldn't matter. She was a variant that never should have existed in the first place. But yes, I can look up our files on her," Voltera says. She fishes a small book out of her pack and sets it open before her. It's completely blank. But she writes Ladonna's name on the top of one page, and suddenly it starts to fill with information.

Ladona steps a little closer, as she appears to be a little fascinated that Voltera can call up the information like that.

“I…yes,” Lillian says weakly. She feels quite helpless to say or do anything helpful. “…well, Calabria is probably going to attack Hart, soon,” she says, changing the subject.

Ladonna Voltera puts on her reading spectacles and squints down at the pages now filled with text. "Let's see here...Marche, Marche...ah, here we go. Well, not much of an impact on the timeline. Looks like she was fervently loyal to her father, essentially giving up any chance of any kind of life to take care of him while he was in his drunken spiral. Waited tables at the local tavern until she was in her forties, trying to make ends meet. Never married or had kids, never even left Buho."
Lillian "Well, that's cheerful," Finbul notes. He fetches a nearby watering can to use on a patch of flowers. "But fair point. Once we're all either dead or in chains, our current problems won't seem like much anymore."

"That sounds absolutely awful," Ladonna admits. She looks pretty disgusted. "But now I'm not surprised by what my father said to me. I basically did whatever he wanted me to do. I probably enabled him in his drinking back in Buho."

"Well," Voltera says, closing the book. "Hopefully the timeline is now back on its proper track."
