Although it costs about half of her savings, Ladonna pays for the scroll. Quill accepts the four hundred coins and then digs around in his belongings until he finds a scroll containing the spell for her, handing it over.

"I suppose I could have, in theory," Quill answers. "Although that sort of thing isn't usually done for free."

"A couple of caravan jobs, a bit of bodyguard work," Henna answers. "Nothing particularly exciting, but work is work, you know? And it sure beats being a castle guard, that's for sure."

"Depends on the circumstances. Like if it would require me taking time off work, travel expenses and such. But my standard rate would be around 600 gold pieces," Quill answers.

"That bad, huh? I've done some noble babysitting in my day, and it tends to be pretty boring most of the time," Henna says. "Especially if it's a lower noble that isn't under much threat of assassins or what have you."
