"Sure, that will be three steel total," the innkeeper says. Once Ravarie pays, she hands her, Sorrith, and Bear Fang keys to their rooms.
"What's this?" Bear Fang wonders. "Small piece of metal?"
"A key," Sorrith answers.
"Key?"
"To your room."
Bear Fang raises a brow. "Room?"
Sorrith sighs. "Yes. This is an inn."
"In what?"
Sorrith shakes his head. "It's like trying to talk to the Qualinesti," he mutters.

Ravarie chuckles lightly at the exchange between Bear Fang and Sorrith. "I'll show him how it works," she says to Sorrith. "You and Lalora get some rest." She turns to Bear Fang, and leads him up to his room. She takes his key and shows him how it works before she leads him into his room. "And that is where you sleep," she says, pointing to the bed.

Bear Fang seems mystified and amazed by all of this. Ravarie recalls how she felt the first time she entered a town, after having grown up in the deep forests. Likewise, Bear Fang has never seen the world outside of his mountain home. "Is this how people live here? Even the chieftain does not have such luxury." He pokes at the bed. "It is...so soft. And all of this space is just for me?" he asks, looking around the room. In all honesty, it's not even that large. But for a people who live in caves with little to no privacy, an entire room to themselves must seem unthinkable.

Kori scratches her head at Sorrinth’s comment. “I don’t quite see the comparison. I know what a key is, you know,” she says, absentmindedly patting Habakkuk. “Although I don’t understand inns very well, since I thought they gave out free rooms last time.”

Regar to Bear Fang "Yes, this is how some folks live, not all though. So of us live inside mountains, some in the forests, there are even nomads that live in the plains. I know it can be a shock to someone that hasn't seen it before. I remember the first time I entered something different than my homeland. I was so lost my head didn't know how to process it all."

"Right," Lalora says to Kori. "That's so completely different." She rolls her eyes and motions to her brother. "Let's go see our own room." The siblings then head upstairs.

"Well, yeah, I guess everyone that lives in cities like this do kind of live like this," Ravarie says. "Someone not as well as others, but the basic idea is there. I was kind of the same way too when I first came too an inn. I really didn't know what to do," she explains. "But try laying on that bed. It is just so nice."

Bear Fang looks around a bit more, then says, "Maybe later." Turning to Ravarie, he asks, "What do we do next? We have traveled far to reach this place, and lost much on the way. But now we are here. What do we do now?"

"Since I'm wanting to make an alliance with the people here, I guess I would need to talk to the leaders of the city," Ravarie says. "I don't know who they are though, so I guess I need to ask around."

Regar nods his head to Bear Fang and then starts thinking about the task at hand "Well judging by our reception they aren't housing any non human races in this place. Or perhaps that is just my observation of it. So I don't think I can look around for any dwarves to try and convince to join our cause. I doubt they have any followers of Reorx for me to talk with either, likely both would be one in the same anyway."

"I don't know if there is even a real dwarven population in Ergoth," Ravarie admits to Regar. "But the humans of Zhea Harbor, I think most of them are from here. This is there home, so they have more stakes in living here than other people do," she explains. "Which is why I think they would be interested in taking some lands back from the ogres. Once we get at least a night of good rest, I'll ask around. Dorias might still be around, and he might know who I need to talk to."

Bear Fang nods. "Then today, we rest and mourn our dead. Tomorrow, we meet with this place's leaders."
