Granker takes the lead, followed by Sha'al, then Sumina, then Parra, then Krenari and finally Kaelestia. The path is very narrow, especially for the bulky minotaurs. And while Krenari can squeeze through, she cannot turn around in such a narrow space.
Toward the stern, the party hears the noises from before. A cracking and thumping sound. It repeats every few moments.

[Does the sound seem to be a regular repetition, or to be connected with the subtle shifting of the boat at all? As if something were tipping or hanging back and forth while bumping against something else?]

Maybe something loose hanging, just bumping with the ship. Maybe bait for a trap. Either way, need eyes on all sides. Grank on the sound, I'll watch the opposite way. We need a couple people scanning all iver as much as they can.

Parra tries to conjure a bit of light, but the spell fizzles and the tiny bit of light flickers out, casting them back into darkness. Fortunately, there is still some light coming in through the chimney and a few portholes that it's not completely dark in here.
As the party moves forward, the sounds starts repeating faster.
