CH. 03 - Fraud Wars

Chispa wonders what Vupli did in Atagua, but before she has the opportunity to ask, the group goes in search for food.
Familiar with the food she is happy to order taco as well. The tastes bring memories from home.
As she hears her mother tongue language she is excited, but refrain from intervening, although she looks at the father and daughter trying to see if she recognize them by a chance.

Although from San Citlán herself, Chispa does not recognize either of them.

Seeboe sits next to Vulpi joyously eating his tacos savoring the sweet marinated meat and savory onions and slightly spicy salsa. He looks to Vulpi and asks in Gnomish " How is your food?" He notices Vulpi's preoccupation and with a Gnomish slang word asks them "What's up?"

"The chips are a little floppy" Vulpi says in gnomish as they struggle to keep the red maguey worms on the chip they're holding. "I'm realizing I might not get far here without knowing some outside languages. Just to overhear even marginally relevant information I'd have to get lucky, but to hear it in common, elvish or gnomish? Super lucky. I think something is gonna happen in Atagua. I don't know, maybe it is that for so many years during my time there, the people were either at war or being oppressed, maybe it's cuz I'm just accustomed to fighting and subconsciously wishing for it." Vulpi takes another chip full of Oaxaca cheese and the cheese pulls the length of their arm before breaking. "This cheese is very fresh though. Maybe it isn't real and there is no danger, but the whistling, the dreams, I cannot stop thinking that something is coming."

Seeboe continues to smile , nods and says in Gnomish "The tacos are good. We'll have to keep our eyes open as well as our ears. " , and then in the Common language " I wonder how the rest of our companions are finding their meal?"

Chispa, who understands Gnomish, wonders why Vulpi is so worried. As far as she knows, although there is tension in Atagua, they live in peace for at least two centuries. Indeed they had their wars before and there are always rumors of coming invasion, but this is true for every land. Even her beloved San Citlán was attacked by the same invaders who tried to conquer Atagua so many years ago.
She seizes the opportunity SeeBoe presents and answers without exposing her knowledge of Gnomish, "Why, I love this food. It brings memories from home. I guess it helped with the game of the Aroons peppers, being used to spicy food. But you know, living in San Citlán I had the chance to enjoy Ataguans delicacy too. I just love sweets, especially chocolate perlins filled with rum." A smile spread on her face. "You know," she says to Vulpi, "I heard you talking of living in Atagua for quiet long time. The last two hundred years, right? Isn't it just about since Atagua won it's freedom? I heard that the people there have strong vivid dreams that they are even sometimes shared by more than one individual." And then she waits expectantly for Vulpi or SeeBoe answers.

[OOC]sarcastiksh0rtee37 couldn't tell if Vulpi would suspect Chispa knew gnomish since she brought up Atagua right as they were talking about Atagua, maybe it was just sarcastiksh0rtee37 knowing that Chispa knew gnomish and projecting the suspicion. But then you referenced the dreams right after I said something about it. So I think Vulpi knows Chispa speaks gnomish now.[/OOC]

Vulpi replies to Chispa in... gnommon? like spanglish - spanish english, but gnomish common: "Who told you 200? I've been there for 500, when Xauja first invaded. It was a youngsters whim of adventure. Melecio and I heard rumor of the invasion and thought it might be fun to go fight with the underdogs. We lost, but there we stayed. But yes we share dreams, and it can be rather spooky."

"Umm. Intresting taste."

"Um... speaking gnommon? I guess you have right for your secrets. But I must admit I am curiouse."

In common "oh sorry, we were just talking about Atagua. Chispa thought I had only been there for 200 years but I lived there for 500."

Seeboe proudly interjects "Yes , I fact Vulpi has been a friend to my family for quite a long time. Why many great stories or the war that my family tells involve Vulpi"

"Oh. That.. a long time." Zencho comment.
 "I know nothing of this war."

"500 years??" Chispa says in surprise, "You look so young, I guess that's why I thought it is 200 years." [OOC:  ]
"So what is it you are worried about? Anything suggested a real attack on Atagua? Maybe we should bring it up to Arayat? And why do you prefer to keep it from the group?" She asks back in Gnommon respecting his current wish to keep it between the trio.

(OOC: The shared dreams are common knowledge and Chispa is curious about any phenomenon she might weave into her creations. A Dream-Catcher maybe .
But she doesn't mind sharing her knowledge, she was just checking if Vulpi/SeeBoe wanted to refrain from raising the subject.)

"I feel like a baby," Ha Yun says after hearing just how old Vulpi is. She ordered some tacos, and is now munching on them absently. She doesn't understand what they are actually talking about, but she understands the concept of switching between two different languages, and even combining them.
