CH. 04 - Written in Blood

Vulpi will continue to walk next to the wagon looking and feeling for threats.

"Often I find that 'being right' is a matter of perspective. If you survive, you write the history and be the one that was 'right'. Even if not in a matter of life or death, you'll likely be able to find one aspect that you predicted and found to fit the situation; because of that one aspect you perceive yourself as 'right'.

"Well, that might be true," she refers both to Ha-Yun and Vulpi comments, "but God works in mysterious ways." and she smiles to herself.

As the party continues forward, after about an hour they notice the environment changing around them.  The open fields have all but vanished behind sparse woods at the far edge of the Rattle.  The air smells stagnant and carries the taste of metal.  Through the trees, multiple small farmhouses hunch amid a patch of green fields.

Suddenly, the ground begins to shake, causing the road ahead to ripple, but just as quickly as it started, the shaking fades away.

Ha Yun, who had been riding in the wagon at this point, grips the side of the wagon as the ground begins to shake. "What is all of this? Is the Rattle prone to earthquakes?" she asks.

Vulpi will shout "Bulette! Spread out!" and will separate from the wagon by like 25 ft. If nothing appears they will stay separated on high alert for 1 minute, then ask Lady Dre if this could be a false alarm and if the ground ever shakes like that without bulettes. When we continue on our journey, Vulpi will still stay at least 15 ft behind the wagon for 30 minutes before resuming their normal position.

"I've never heard of earthquakes in the Rattle before," Lady Dre admits.

"Me, either, but I have heard rumors of bulettes harassing farmers now and again," Proclaimer Ward adds.

Vulpi suddenly starts shouting about bulettes and runs a short distance away, leaving everyone to look around or reach for their weapons.  However, nothing happens.

After a minute, Vulpi will relax a little. Keeping about 15ft away from the wagon, Vulpi will call out "Lady Dre, you said there is a telltale tremor just before bulettes strike. Is it like what we just felt? If not how is it different? Do you have any other theories about what that could have been?"

[Daos]

Lady Dre responds, "It's possible, but I am no nature expert.  Still, no harm in keeping our guard up, just in case."

"Do you think the earth tremors are related to the red eyed zombies?"

"Then lets keep going for the time being," Ha Yun says, but she is clearly on guard at this point.

The party continues their journey forward.  But after only ten minutes, another tremor suddenly shakes the ground.  This time, a ten foot square sinkhole opens up beneath the wagon.

Vulpi will draw their bow and remain 15ft away and if the hole is shallow enough that moving up to a 5ft cube of dirt would help people get out, then they use mold earth to move the dirt in a way to make it easier for people to get out.

As Ha-Yun holds to the wagon on the first tremor, Chispa holds her arm, being more sturdy she easily keeps her steady, and she lets go as soon as the tremor stops. If Ha-Yun will look at her she will only smile and look away. On the second tremor she does the same and will guard Ha-Yun as good as she can.

(OOC: What is Bulette? The dictionary says 'Bullet' but from the context that sounds something else. You mentioned before some underground sharks-like creatures if my memory serves right (which usually it doesn't). Is it them?
