Here's a link to several (if not all) of the 2nd ed. rule books (PHB, DMG, and what looks like most, if not all of the supplements.) No pictures, but, the text seems to be intact, along with the tables. Also split up into sections, so you don't get a wall of text crit. www.coryj.net/CoreRule/

That's a good find. And if Wizards won't allow anyone to buy legal versions of the older editions online anymore, one shouldn't feel bad about taking advantage of websites or torrents like this.
Respectfully (I don't want to come across like a Mr. Know-It-All smartass), I will say that the list of books is missing a fair amount of the supplements and splat books (you gotta have the Complete Book of Villains, man!), although I reckon this person has most of the important/worthwhile ones.

No worries, I'm still a D&D noob.

Hey, there are books on here even I don't have.
(P.S. I don't use any Player's Option books, so nobody need bother with them.)

I ran a mini-campaign using the Player's Option: Skills and Powers book once. It must have been about 11 years ago now. I put two players through one of the adventures from the Forgotten Realms' 'Ruins of Zhentil Keep' boxed set. It was... surprisingly fun, although I think mostly we enjoyed it because we had been playing 2nd edition nonstop for ages and this was a nice change of pace. It was still 2nd edition, but it was also very different: You have a point-buy system for char gen, a bunch of kits, new nonweapon proficiencies, a random background table to give each PC some flavor, sub-ability scores, and pretty much all the demihuman races from the Humanoids splat book are present and have stats and info if you want to play one of them.
I didn't really care for the other two Player's Option books, but S&P is one that I still find myself flipping open from time to time.

Also, unless you're a DM yourself, do NOT download the DMG.
Seriously! Don't!
That tome contains a thousand ancient, arcane secrets and each one will drive you mad! MAD!

Ha... you know, that's kind of true though. It's sort of like what they say about being a goalie in hockey or a catcher in baseball - to play those positions you have to be a little bit demented or touched in the head. Same thing applies to GMing. A hint of craziness is essential if you're going to put up with running a game. (And yes, I know I shouldn't ever mention sports around you, David. I may as well be speaking in Italian .)

Just avoid using NASCAR analogies and I'll fumble my way through it.

That's a very impressive file. They know their subject matter, plus they have a good knowledge of D&D history (probably the first and only 2nd edition related supplement I've seen with level titles - very cool). I like the character sheet included too. You always know you're in for a good time if there's a space to include information about your coven on there .

I've never even heard of that one! And I have the netbook about unlawful carnal knowledge!
Err, just to figure out pregnancy stuff, I mean.

I should certaintly hope that no pregnancy results from unlawful carnage.
"What to Expect When You're Expecting," is a very helpful book, from what I understand. Unless you're dealing with the aforementioned pregnancy.
PS: Congrats on your pregnancy, David? LOL

It'll be a beautiful day when it finally arrives. I wonder if it will be a boy or a girl?

ROFL. I haven't thought of Aliens in years.
I guess it could be both?
