I am looking forward to that. Out of all the Marvel shows Loki is my favorite one, followed by probably Moonknight.

You will recall that I hated the first season of Loki.

I do, but I cannot recall why. The premise really upset me for some reason…I guess because of how fatalist it was. Not just that your actions are predetermined, but that the TVA will track you down and erase you from existence for not following the pre-determined path. Getting punished for breaking rules I don’t understand is a pet emotional trigger of mine. Also, I hated the reveal of the main bad guy. {Spoiler}The show built up the Time Lords as the mysterious, powerful beings that uphold the Sacred Timeline for secret reasons. Then, three quarters of the way through the show, they turn out to be fake! Our conceptions of the world have been shattered! What will actually turn out to be true??
And at the end of the show…it turns out, there’s a mysterious, powerful being upholding the Sacred Timeline for mysterious reasons. It felt like a major letdown to me. Plus, the ending felt like a massive twist/cliffhanger that they pulled out of nowhere—it wasn’t satisfying to me.
I also didn’t like that the show was pushing a Loki/Sylvie romance—it didn’t feel necessary or natural to me; it felt more like shoving the male and female leads into a romantic relationship regardless of how appropriate it is. So, I really didn’t like it at the beginning, but I started to get invested and enjoy it more as I went through it, only to be really let down by the finale.

It's been a couple of years now, so my memory might be a bit fuzzy. But as I recall, the show was actually about fighting against fate, not supportive of it. The TVA are, essentially, fascist. They pass themselves off as necessary, claiming there would be chaos without them. It reminded me of what they said about Mussolini. "At least the trains ran on time!" Which wasn't actually true, but it's part of the myth of fascism, that although harsh, it's needed. "You may not agree with their actions, but we need them to maintain order and peace." But it's all nonsense. Such was the way with the TVA, too. While some of their members are well-meaning (such as Mobius), the organization itself is corrupt, deceitful and hypocritical. Even the 'wise ancient lords that know best' who run the place turns out to be a myth, a lie. It's run by one guy who is doing so for selfish reasons. The TVA isn't about order, peace or what's best for everyone, it's about control. And Loki's and Sylvie's attempt to overthrow that corrupt system, and bring freedom to the multiverse. That was my take on it, anyway. I agree with the Loki/Slyvie thing, though. I didn't care for that, either. Felt vaguely...incestuous to me.

Right, it’s not that I felt the show had a pro-fatalist stance or anything. I’m sure it had a great anti-fascist message. It’s just in order to have an anti-fascist message, you have to depict it to some degree, and I don’t like watching that.
I tell people I don’t like television, which isn’t exactly true, of course. I don’t like television, or books, or movies that are challenging in any way; I want them to be exactly what I expect and I don’t really them to make me feel anything.

Yeah, there's just one more after that one, the season finale.

Just finished the fourth season of Solar Opposites recently, and am now working my way through the final season of Disenchantment. Anyone else watching anything good?

I haven't been sitting down and watching anything, but my housemates like to casually put on a show in the evenings sometimes. So I've been getting to watch shows I wasn't really allowed to with my parents, like Community or Arrested Development. So that's fun!

Both are great shows. Community's D&D episode is one of my favorites of all time.

I also liked the alternate reality episode of the community. Or rather multiple realities based on a roll of a die to see who gets the pizza from the delivery guy. But as Daos said both are good shows.
I just finished the last season of Disenchantment, worth it but sad that it is the conclusion of the show forever. But at least the writers ended it on their terms before any station or channel could cancel it.
