Ryan is happy to move the rock.

Katya and Ryan move the boulder, freeing the goblin scout. She crawls out slowly, whether from lack of energy or fear of being attacked not being clear. Katya hands over a loaf of bread from her pack. Although it has started to go stale by now, Nak’skree devours it without complaint. Garnet hands over her waterskin, and the goblin drinks it dry quickly. "Thank you," she says, wiping her chin with her arm.
"While I was interrogated down here, when I was first brought here, they took me to the Hooded One's room on the first level. I know it was on the first level, despite being blindfolded, because it was before I was taken on the lift. They took me up a ladder, then down a long passage. I heard the Hooded One scold his men for bringing me there at all, and he ordered them to take me down here. Then we went on the lift and I was thrown in this cell."

Katya exhales.
"I knew we weren't seeing enough sign of life down here. Suddenly those Bloody Spear up top letting us take the elevator makes sense. Lets go." She waves a hand back in the direction of the elevator. They had to get back up - they'd already been bumbling around in the dark long enough for the Hooded One to escape if he was going to.

"All right. Let's head back up here," Ladonna says. She looks at the goblin they just freed. "Coming with us?" she asks.

"Damn the nine hells." Escapes Ryan's lips once is determined they were not on the right track. "Back up a level."

"I am not Bloody Spear. Or are we goblins all the same in your eyes?" she asks. "If what you say is true, and you are ally to my lord and the Woodfang tribe, then I am not your enemy. If anyone should be suspicious, it should be me. Why should I trust you? Perhaps you cut a deal with the Bloody Spear to avoid the war, and are servants of the Hooded One, and are trying to trick me into betraying my lord and my people." Theron looks as though he's about to object to the goblin's reasoning, but before he's able to formulate a response, Katya and Ryan free Nak’skree. Whatever objection had been on the tip of his tongue, he decides to abandon it in favor of carefully observing her instead. Then we went on the lift and I was thrown in this cell." "That is...very helpful," Theron says, with a note of surprise in his voice. "It seems I was wrong to doubt you -- my sincere apologies. I will personally make sure that Lord Ubisek hears about this critical assistance you have provided us." There's a pause as Theron seems to take a moment to organize his thoughts, then he says, "Now that we know we're all on the same team, maybe you can tell us a little bit about the stories goblins tell about the oknog? It's possible the sign we saw was just a bluff, but the more information we have going into this, the higher our chances of success."

The party starts to walk back the way they came, toward the lift. After a few moments of though, Nak'skree follows. She limps a bit, due to her injuries, but the food and water has seemed to restore her energy a little.
"All I know of the oknog is that they are spirits that are said to live in deep, dark places, and that they must be appeased with items of value or the lives of prisoners; if an oknog is not honored, it hunts those who dare to live in its realm without paying homage," she says. "They are...if I'm saying this right, what the Tardish call 'booger-men'?"

"Booger-men?" Ladonna asks before she laughs a bit. "Bogey-men, you mean?" she asks.

Theron joins Ladonna in a brief fit of giggling. When he ceases, he seems just a little bit more relaxed, almost nonchalant. "Well, we're grateful to you for sharing all this with us," he says. "Hopefully all this oknog business winds up being an attempt by the Hooded One to latch onto an old wives' tale, to help keep the rabble in line."
As they reach the lift, Theron looks to the others and says, "Anyone want to put odds on whether ol' Hoody's got an ambush waiting for us back on the first floor? Not only are we traveling twice the distance than we did in each our previous trips, but this time gravity will be working against us, not with us; that means that, in the event of an attack, the first group up might have to fend for themselves for quite a while before reinforcements arrive." Oddly enough, the lightening of his mood that's been apparent since Nak'skree's 'booger-man' comment doesn't seem diminished by this musing.

Nak'skree shrugs, making it clear that the distinction between 'booger' and 'bogey' are lost on her. "If you are expecting me to fight, I should mention I have no weapon or armor, and am badly wounded," she adds.
Once they have returned to the lift, Ingot says, "I agree...we should be ready...for a fight. Especially since...it will take time...to return us all...to the first level."

"Perhaps those of us who can see in the light should go first, then." Katya comments. "We split along those lines originally because we only have one light source. That hasn't stopped being true."
The fact that the group is split almost exactly 50/50 between those who can and cannot see in the light has been convenient. It also means that no one is left alone with their 'new friend.' Katya would not have left Nak'skree in her prison if there was a chance she was telling the truth. That didn't mean she was eager to leave anyone alone with her.

"I'm not opposed to the idea," Ladonna says as she is one of the first people to go up this time. "Though, wouldn't you be our only fighter?"

"Ingot would be with us" Katya points out. She inclines her head towards Ladonna "would you be okay to take the elevator back down if fighting met us at the top?"

"Interesting dilemma, but we should go as planned." Ryan adds. "Plus, we could drop a rope and some could climb."

"Then we should heal up now, right?" asks Finbul. "We still have two of those potions from Kohen McIntyre."
"Oh, I have one healing spell left," volunteers Garnet.
=========
(OOC: Ladonna is very weak physically--STR of 7--so if she operates the lift on her own, it would take much longer to move it. Perhaps up to 5 or more rounds per floor to move it either up or down.)
