"Hmm, interesting," Malavar observes. He carefully scrutinizes the scroll case for any writing, sigils, or marks of ownership. If he finds nothing to alarm him, he proceeds to open the case and remove the contents.

As stated before, all of the bodies have been stripped clean of anything valuable, as has the wagon, though it appears the battle occurred less than a day ago, if that. Noting the goblin corpses, Krah states, "Likely an ambush. They didn't go down without a fight, but it wasn't enough. It would seem the Garagos tribe we fought was not the only goblin group in this area, because it looks like this attack happened only hours ago."
Meanwhile, Malavar looks over the scroll case. There does not to appear to be any markings on it, so he opens it up and retrieves a single scroll with nine clerical spells written on it. They are Cure Light Wounds (x2), Detect Magic, Endure Cold (x2), Light, Obscurement, Slow Poison and Water Breathing.

Drezden goes back to report the findings to the camp.

Jaxle- Drezden can you follow the tracks. Possibly see how many more goblins are out there and the direction of the hideout? We should double the guard tonight. They probably will attack during the night. He thinks for a while. Maybe we should set up our own ambush. Have our bedrolls to look like we are fast asleep when we are actually lying in wait for there attack.

Drezden halts in his tracks and listens to Jaxle "I can try but I am not going to track em alone." the ranger will track and follow the goblin tracks so long as at least Krah goes with him. He motions to Krah "Krah you're with me lets see if these scum goblins are still around." then sets off following the tracks trying to see where it leads and how many are still alive. "Well, this was a fortunate find indeed. The spells inscribed here will be most useful if the journey continues to be as...eventful...as it has so far. I suggest the rest of us ready ourselves for battle while we await Drezden and Krah's return."

Drezden looks around the wagon and finds quite a few tracks all over the place. Concentrating, he finds a set of tracks that are moving away from the wagon. Most are small; goblin, perhaps. But there is one creature among them that is much, much larger. Bigger than a human or a bugbear, even. It looks like the tracks head eastward, up the slopes. They seem easy enough to follow.
"Very well, I shall accompany you," Krah answers. "Between the two of us, I am certain we can handle any goblins we face. But we should make haste. As the sun lowers, they will become more alert. Night is their time."

Drezden in total agreement moves hastily thinking these tracks may well lead to the campsite of the goblins and bugbear the group killed earlier.

Drezden and Krah, alone, start following the tracks. It occurs to Drezden that it's unlikely these will lead back to the camp with the bugbear, as these tracks are leading east, and that camp was several days to the south.
As they ascend the slopes, it is impossible not to note the sheer volume of the mountain laurel. Someone, even a giant, could easily hide amidst the leafy growth. The tracks remain clear, as the passage has cut a swath through the tangle. After ascending about 120 feet, they see that the tracks lead to a clearing amidst the laurel.
As they approach, they can hear voices--arguing. They are speaking in the goblin tongue.

Drezden tries to get a better look but remain hidden in the laurel to get a better idea of how many goblinoids there are.

Crouching down in the laurel, Drezden and Krah approach as closely as they can without risking being seen, at the very edge of the brush. About ninety feet to the north is a campsite.
Three covered wagons encircle a small campfire at the center. Three goblins, dressed in hides, stand alongside the first wagon, arguing over some of the garments of their victims. The ogre sits by the campfire next to a very large keg, drinking.
There is a rummaging sound coming from both the second and third wagons. The third wagon (on the left) is mostly destroyed. The other two are in better shape, but still have suffered quite a bit of damage. About thirty feet southeast of the wagons is a pool of water, fairly shallow, about twenty feet in diameter, with some large rocks to the northwest of it. Here, two goblins wearing chain mail refresh themselves from the pool. One has a bow slung over his back and the other has a very fine looking short sword on his belt.

(OOC: Click the map to enlarge. The rectangles are the wagons, the blue circle is the pond, the brown circles are large rocks, and the green area is the laurel. 'OO' is the ogre, 'A' is the archer and 'L' is the leader. Each hex is about 5' in size.)

Drezden fights his urge to charge out and slay goblins as he remembers there is an ogre and likely two cannot drop a beast of that size without some assistance so he heads back to camp and motions for Krah to follow trying to remain silent while still near the goblin camp and reports to the others the results of the scouting.

"More goblin raiders? By Tempus, the murderous little thugs are everywhere. With the Lord of Battles on our side, I do not doubt we can deal with them easily enough, but an ogre? Now that's a worthy challenge for a fighting man. If Master Peddywinkle agrees, I am for taking the fight to these bandits immediately."

"It sounds like we got lucky," Peddywinkle states. "They probably weren't expecting a second caravan to pass through this pass so soon after the last one. If we had arrived a little bit earlier or a little bit later, we may well have walked right into their ambush. In any case, I don't like the idea of leaving the caravan completely unprotected. Rafferty and Dell shall stay behind, as well as at least one other."
