OK. that's what I did with Horizon quote but the result is different from the quote of GreyWolf that was created by pressing "Quote" button under his post. Thanks.

I have had some odd issues with quotes on here in the past where it quotes but wont let me type anything and i had to switch to the code mode to get the cursor to go where i could type and not be stuck in the quote bubble.

One way to get around that is to just copy and paste the quote like normal, then highlight it and then hit the quote button. Same with whispers.

Daos Is that the case? I skimmed the earlier posts and thread when we were at the hospice but couldn't find any mention of how many floors this building has. I've just been assuming it has at least a second floor.

My original description read: The hospice is a small, dilapidated building not far from the refugee camp. It sits in front of a dark alley. The windows are barred and the curtains pulled. The front door has a large padlock on it. There doesn't seem to be anyone around in this area. But from all the directions the party asked for, this is definitely the right place. So I didn't outright specify single or multiple floors, but I did call it small. But yes, it only has the one floor.

Well, unless Bishgada wants to have Senllip check for a chimney, that at least means casting Fly is unnecessary.

To save some time and trouble then, I will state that there was no sign of a chimney on the place when you visited previously. (Generally speaking, places in the tropics don't have fireplaces or chimneys. It's usually pretty warm all year round. Indeed, I don't know if anyone realizes it's currently winter in Octhania, but the temperature is still between 80-60 F or 27-16 C degrees.)

Grounded? As in forbidden from leaving the house and engaging in social activities?

Yes, although in this case, it's more 'forbidden to use the internet.'

Quaint custom. I suppose I was just too saintly growing up - I don't recall ever being grounded in any fashion.

Imrich listens silently to Senllip's report before offering his opinion. "It certainly seems there's evidence of wrongdoing aplenty in that house, but we are not the law in this city and Sheriff Aguru doesn't know and hasn't approved of what we're doing here. We could storm in, subdue the guards and release the prisoners only to find that we're the ones who will be charged with criminal activity. We certainly will have reinforced the sheriff's belief that mercenary adventurers are unreliable." "I suggest we set up a perimeter and keep watch on the building while one of us goes to the sheriff to report what we've found. Johannas, you are a follower of Octhanus and - if I may say so - perhaps best aligned with the morals and values of this island. I think you should go to see the sheriff and report on what Senllip has found. You don't need to convince him to come himself, just get us his permission to go in and subdue the guards." OOC: I'm assuming that the sheriff will either be at his office or that there will be someone there who can direct Johannas to where the sheriff may be found at this hour. I'm also assuming that the city isn't so big that he couldn't find the sheriff, return here and report in 1-2 hours.
It might take too long for Johannes to go and return. (Maybe with the fly Senllip can do it faster but he might need to cancel the invisibility). What if someone does come to the house? Are we going to act without the Sherrif permission? What if the people inside the house are sacrificed to demon via interdimensional portal? There will be no evidence of the crime. I'm aware they might be outlaws, that's one of the reasons why Senllip didn't just unlocked their cells. But being in control of the situation and then asking investigating is better than someone else is in control while you try to investigate.

I don't think we want to risk not at least running this by the sheriff to be upfront about it. But that is just my opinion.

Lots to unpack here... 1. Senllip has reported that there are people, some of whom are children, in cages. Based on the past behaviour of the guards when we've come to the house to look for work, and the fact that Senllip has discovered that the guards are hired help, Imrich thinks it extremely unlikely that the people in the cages are anything but innocent kidnapping victims. 2. However, Senllip hasn't presented any evidence as to what the guards are expecting to happen and when it's going to happen. He certainly hasn't provided evidence that the prisoners are about to be sacrificed to demonic powers. 3. Given that, and Senllip's tendency to be overexcitable, Imrich would still prefer that we move with the blessings of the Sheriff. It's quite likely that something may be afoot tonight, but there's no proof it's going to happen so quickly that one of us can't meet with the Sheriff and explain the situation. 4. By keeping watch on the house while we wait, we would notice if the prisoners are being moved and we might even catch a break and spot whoever's behind this when they come to the house to complete their dastardly plan. 5. If the prisoners do end up being moved from the house before we can get permission from the Sheriff to act, then yes, we should intervene to delay them and to try and find out what's going on. If our delaying tactics are insufficient to keep the kidnappers in place, then we should take action to free the prisoners. We may get in trouble with the law, but we won't have broken into private property and we'll have the victims on hand to tell Aguru what's been going on. Things that might change Imrich's mind: 1. Did Senllip actually see anything indicating magicians or bloodthirsty cultists being responsible for holding the people inside captive? 2. Did he see anything that looked like an alternate exit from the house. I.e. is there reason to believe the guards can smuggle the prisoners out of the house without us noticing? 3. Did the guards mention anything that should make us suspicious of the Sheriff or his officers? I.e. did they say anything to implicate the watch being involved or turning a blind eye? Stuff Imrich would like to know regardless: 1. Were the guards uniformed or in civilian clothing? I.e. did they look like thugs or members of an organization? 2. How were the guards armed and armoured? 3. Can Senllip draw a map of the house and place the cages/guards so that we won't be going in blind?

Guys, I might be slow posting for the next few days. I have a pretty bad cold. Looking at my phone or computer actually hurts my eyes (which is making it difficult to even type this out). I've tried to read the updated posts, but I just zone out after like the first three words since my head is all foggy. I just wanted to let everyone know. That goes for Past Glory too.
