He heads to Tu'Valie to further his investigation, and maybe pick up some good work, too. 1.) What sort of clan did he grow up in? Considering his current skills, maybe a gunsmithing or alchemical one? Gunsmithing 2.) What happened to the human woman he fell for? Did she leave Narin with him? Are they still together? Have they had any kids? She went with him and was killed in Mond when it was attacked. 3.) Did his entire family reject him, or does he have one or two family members that still sympathize or maybe want to try and 'convert' him back? Parents both rejected him as did most of his family but he has an uncle and brother that did not. The brother wants to convert him back the uncle sympathizes and knows converting is a choice he has to make on his own. 4.) Why is he looking for the Son of Crizza? Revenge? Answers? To sign up? Answers and revenge for his love that was killed in the attack on Mond. He went against some taboo or broke some kind of law that made him an outcast (He fell in love with a non-dwarf) If he's from Mond, we could say he grew up in Deimos and survived the attack there three years ago. Then when he heard a similar attack happened in Tu'Valie, he made his way there to help out, or maybe to find some clue as to what caused the attack. Perhaps he is on a personal manhunt for the Son of Crizza for revenge, or to find answers, or to just put a stop to his attacks. Or maybe he even wants to join him. He fell in love with a human woman at age 25. Which was highly looked down upon and he left his homeland seeking a place like Mond where everyone is equal and no government tells you what is acceptable in any aspect of your life. This also is why he is not a follower of Gonto the way things went down in Narin with him loving a human woman the dwarf questioned many things in his life religion was one of them. There that is pieced together. He gets a total of 6 WPs. You put two into pistol, to specialize, and one into dagger. What of the other three?
He gets a total of 7 NWPs. Gunsmith, Endurance, and Artistic Ability are free, thanks to his kit. You purchased Alertness, Direction Sense, Rope Use and Signaling. What of the other three? (Also, what sort of art do you want him to have an ability in?)
He gets two languages. Which two? Octhanian and Dwarven?
In terms of equipment, where does he hold his gear? Does he have a backpack or any belt pouches?
Did you want to write up a brief description of his appearance and personality? I'll see what I can do about putting together a history based on what you have here, when I get the time.

Firearm proficiencies are grouped together; pistols and rifles. So if you have proficiency in pistols, you can use all types of pistols, and if you have proficiency in rifles, you can use all types of rifles. You don't need a proficiency slot for each type of pistol or rifle.

History Brax Firehand was born on the island of Vaneil, in the bustling town of Narin, to his dwarven parents Dalrik and Solra. They were both part of the Firehand clan, dedicated to gunsmithing. Thus were Brax and his brother, Dalin, raised to follow in their parents' footsteps.
Brax's education was fairly standard; he was taught the tenets of Gonto, the basics of alchemy and gunsmithing, and his family history. Like most dwarves on the island, his ancestors were criminals who were banished here, but after the Carnage War, they built their own society. He's heard stories of dwarves on the mainland living underground, but it was always difficult for him to imagine not having a sky always overhead.
Brax's entire life has been planned out for him since his birth. He would grow up learning the Firehand ways, take a good dwarven wife to help forge an alliance with another clan, and one day become a master gunsmith and take over the family business. Everything went according to plan, until his 25th year--the year he completed his apprenticeship and was ready to become a real gunsmith. That's when everything became unraveled. And it all started with a random chance meeting with a young human woman named Esme.
Brax was instantly charmed by the woman's beauty, wit and kind heart. Her parents ran a nearby sulfur mine, so Brax's family often did business with hers. He started finding little excuses to go see her, eventually buying so much sulfur that his clan had a rather large surplus. He had never meant to fall in love with her, but the heart wants what the heart wants; and it was clear she felt the same way.
On some level, Brax knew his parents would never approve, but he was so deliriously happy, he couldn't be bothered to think about it too much. But it all came crashing down around him when his parents introduced him to Hilde Ulvorn, a niece to Lady Olena Ulvorn who was governor of the town. This was a big break for the Firehand clan; having a direct connection tot he governor would mean big things for the family business, to say the least. Brax would marry into wealth and power. There was just one problem; it would mean giving up Esme.
Devastated, Brax went to break things off with Esme. He was a dwarf, after all, and had always been raised to do what he was told, to follow tradition, to trust in the wisdom of his elders. But when he saw her, he found he could not do it. Something snapped in him that day and he decided he would rather pursue his own happiness, follow his own path, then the one already laid out for him. He returned home and told his family everything. A part of him hoped they would be understanding.
They were not.
His parents were furious and demanded he break up with the human immediately. Brax refused, claiming she was the one he was going to marry. Things escalated, tempers flared, and when it was over, Brax had been exiled from the clan.
Brax gathered up his things numbly; he was not free, but what had he sacrificed to achieve it? His uncle Throm, always a bit of a romantic at heart, escorted Brax out of his home and quietly palmed him a small sack of gold; just enough to rent a boat somewhere else, so he and his love could start a new life.
Brax and Esme boarded a ship to the island of Mond, as it was the cheapest transport they could find. They settled in the city of Deimos, where nobody questioned their past, or seemed to care he and a human were in love. It was there he discovered the faith of Crizza. 'The Mad God' as he is called among Gonto followers, Crizza is taught to be pure evil and at first Brax was reluctant to have anything to do with him. But learning more, he realized that to embrace Crizza was to embrace freedom. He had walked away from his destiny to make his own, and Crizza understood that. Before long, Brax had fully rejected his old faith and become a full fledged Crizzite.
The next 21 years were ones of happiness and peace. Brax worked as a gunsmith, eventually opening his own shop. Esme did odd jobs, mostly waiting tables or running errands. Life wasn't always easy, but they had each other, and that made all the difference. They never had kids, but always felt like part of the community. Uncle Throm would often send him letters, asking how he was and filling him in on what was going on back in Narin. Brax's brother, Dalin, also often sent letters, but to ask him to return, make amends and walk the path his parents had expected for him.
Nearly three years ago, the city of Deimos was nearly destroyed in a horrible attack. Powerful wizards struck the city with fireballs and bolts of lightning, opening gates to Limbo to release slaadi into the city, and animating the dead to create an army of zombies and skeletons. Brax survived, but Esme did not. He lost everything--his love, his home, his store--all of it.
Nobody seemed sure why the attacked happened or who was behind it. There were whispers and rumors of some powerful being calling himself the Son of Crizza who was behind it. Brax couldn't understand how anyone who claimed to be an actual child of Crizza could attack a city so dedicated to Crizza's teachings. What was the point of it all? Why did he sacrifice everything only to lose it all? Nothing made sense. Brax spent the next few weeks grieving and in shock. But once he recovered, he packed up what little of his belongings he still had, and boarded the next ship out as a merc. He had spent enough time working on guns to know how to shoot one, after all. It was good money, but more important, it allowed him to travel. He could stop at every port to ask questions and find out more about this Son of Crizza.
A few weeks ago, the city of Tu'Valie on the island of Hashadeth was attacked. When Brax heard the details--fireballs and lightning bolts, slaadi, undead--he knew it wasn't a random coincidence. The Son of Crizza had struck again. Brax hurried to the island. Not just to find answers, but word was the people were in dire need for mercenaries and adventurers to help with the clean up.

Also of note, he's overcapacity for encumbrance (max press for a STR of 12 is 140, he's carrying over 150 pounds of gear), but once he signs on to the Blue Moon, he can drop off most of his gear on the ship (like his food and water), and that should help cut down on that.

I think I love it! You are more of a wordsmith than I Daos. About the encumbrance I suppose I could have a small cart or wheelbarrow to help move stuff seeing as he is still very wealthy.

Appearance:
A stern-looking elf with short brown hair and blue eyes. Very prominent eyebrows, and a long scar across her nose and cheek. She typically wears the vestments of Renos, though a bit more loose and scuffled than is usual.
Personality:
Kallian is not a very empathic person. She cares largely about her own business, and doesn't see the point in interfering with others--unless she has a good reason, usually money. Her devotion to Renos is in itself largely selfish: she uses the Cleric powers granted by him to further her own ends. Which, in itself (as she says) is serving Renos.
History:
Born on the island of Gunn to two poor parents, her older brother was sold into slavery when she was quite young. This impacted her deeply, and she swore to never let herself be so helpless. This made the teachings of Renos quite appealing to her, and she sought to join the order as soon as she could. At the age of 23, she decided to set off into Octhania as a mercenary, serving Renos by crushing the weak--and getting paid good money for it, too.
As for other equipment, she'll, of course, get a copy of Burning Commands, but I'm not sure what else she needs.1d10·3d10
