"Freeing slaves," Ravarie says. "And helping them become accustomed to being free again," she adds.

Gerrard glances toward the Silvanesti woman. The sharpness of her tone indicates a noble - servant relationship towards the Kagonesti. But he had seen her defer to the Wilder Elf earlier that day. If it weren't for his strong desire to be about Tower business, and so make his name, he would have been interested in following along to study the elves and their shifting dynamics more.
"I guess I should offer my pitch while there are a goodly number of apparently competent folk in here this evening. Jorrun and I, along with anyone else who is interested and willing to sign our pact, will be heading north to seek our fortunes in an ancient ruin. We have information that will guide us to the location, but we need those who can handle themselves in the badlands and in a fight. Our agreement will be laid out here for you to look over, if you are interested. It will be a venture where everyone is equal and receives equal shares, but you will be expected to carry an equal share of the work and expense."

"Freeing slaves," Ravarie says. "And helping them become accustomed to being free again," she adds. Krixus listens to the elf and says, "What slaves - where?"

Ravarie was hoping to keep it vague right now, but she knew that she was going to start with freeing her own people from the hands of her cousins. "There are slaves throughout the continent. The ogres use their slaves to fight as gladiators, for example. The Silvanesti use the Kagonesti as unpaid servants in the hopes of making them more civilized," she explains, but she makes sure to use finger quotes when she says civilized.

"'Unpaid?'" Lalora objects. "The Kagonesti didn't even know what money was until we helped uplift them. You should be thankful you even have an understanding of commerce now, thanks to us." She looks to Rathis. "Well, you're a servant of the Winged One, aren't you? Back me up on this."

“The Whitestone Council believes we are all equal. Least the men that fight for it do. All peoples should be able to make their way as they see fit. It’s part of the measure. Sure some peoples lose their way and should be guided to the light, but..well shouldn’t be slaves. Slaving is just wrong. Is the Mrs a Slave? Seems a strange thing. And then two Elves is her owners? Or her owners huntsman? Strange.” The big man clearly doesn’t brook the idea of slavery. His friend, the Wizard was talking about shaping Ergoth into something new. Wouldn’t be no slaves in the New Ergoth of Jorrun had a say.
“Seems are tanks are aligned in the end. The robes one wants to change the whole of Ergoth. Certainly won’t be slaves on this island if he can see that through.”

"So, since we didn't know what money was at the time, we don't deserve to be compensation for the work that we do for you families?" Ravarie asks curiously.

Sorrith steps in between the two elven women. "Perhaps...now is not the best time to hash this out, hmm?" he asks them both.
"Tch." Lalora turns away from them both. "I'll be in the room," she says, then storms upstairs.

"To answer to question, I use to be a slave," Ravarie says. "I am returning as a freed elf." She explains. "What is this about robed ones though?"

Gerrard, intrigued by what the Kagonesti is saying, holds his tongue. Watching Elvish politics play out in a dockside tavern is too good to interrupt. But Ravarie's question about "robed ones" requires an answer...
"I believe, lady, that Friend Jorrun is speaking of me. I am a Wizard of the White Robes. And it is my inclination to overthrow the ogres in Daltigoth and free the slaves there. That is why I mount this expedition into the northern badlands, to finance the work. I would be thrilled to work together on this, once we have completed our respective responsibilities. If you are interested, perhaps we could meet here again in a few months?"
Gerrard looks around at the assembled peoples, and a plan begins to form. "I think we seek the same end, as far as the end of slavery. No good people should stand for such."

"Since I just won my freedom from the ogres, I would be very interested in helping with that endeavor," Ravarie says with a nod of her head. "So, yes, I will meet you back here in a few months."

"For now, though, perhaps we should get some rest," Sorrith suggests. "It is getting late."

Ravarie and Sorrith head upstairs.
Meanwhile, Nonna calls out to anyone still remaining. "Last call for the night," she says. "Any orders before I start closing up?"
