Daos looks at Obasi with a mixture of humiliation and bafflement. "It's...it's not like that," he objects meekly. "I doubt any children I sire would be warriors, for one thing. But also, Widow Mathilde already has children, who are grown and have children of their own now most likely."

The Goodwife returns the greeting "Good day to you Mr. Stormcrow." her four children look on. The lintel over the front door is carved with acorns and oak leaves. Inside, a young girl and her old granny do various chores. "Yes those rumors are true perhaps someone in the guard tower ask for Burne or Rufus. Otherwise you might try the church."

"Thank you kindly, goodwife. That's a fine-looking lintel by the way. Quality craftsmanship," he compliments her. "Did you do the work yourself?"

Narya listens to the conversation and nods. Her keen elven eyes scan around her, looking for the guard tower. She waits until the conversation ends and the group continues on their destination before saying, "Shall we procure rooms first, go to the church, or speak to this Burne and Rufus?"

Goodwife replies "No that would be my husband he's out in the fields with the boys." she indicates the three grown men in the fields two look like younger versions of the older man working the fields.

"Shall we procure rooms first, go to the church, or speak to this Burne and Rufus?" "I...uh, I'd prefer...the inn first," Daos says meekly. He was just so tired and needed a break. And something hot to eat and cold to drink.

Goodwife replies "No that would be my husband he's out in the fields with the boys." she indicates the three grown men in the fields two look like younger versions of the older man working the fields. "Well then, my compliments to your husband and a good day to you," Roshek answers the goodwife. "The inn sounds right to me," Roshek says to the others. "Be nice to get cleaned up and a proper meal instead of dry rations. Then we can seek out the guard tower or the church."

“Yes, the inn. I should like to leave Tilly in a stable while we speak with this Burne and Rufus. Plus, I am very hungry! Mutton sounds perfect, eh?” He would follow on with the others. Thankful they had finally made it to their destination.

Narya nods her affirmation. "Lead on then." When the others are not looking she checks the weight of her coin purse and wonders how long her funds will allow her to stay. She then continues after the group.

Daos leads the way to the inn, as he knows the way. He finds himself wondering how much the place had changed, if at all.

On the way to the inn, Roshek falls in next to Kevril and speaks to him in a low voice. "Listen, Kevril. When the Temple was strong in these parts, there were orcs and half-orcs aplenty in its armies - an orc axe damn near took me leg off at the Battle of Emridy Meadows. The people here were sore oppressed by the Temple, so some of them might not be all that welcoming towards Obasi. What I'm trying to say is, if things turn ugly, perhaps you should speak for us. You're a servant of Mayaheine - your word will carry a weight that none of the rest of us can match."

Onward to the InnHaving finished the conversation with the goodwife she waves farewell to you and bids you good day. The pass the rest of the buildings until you arrive at the inn. At least that is the best recollection Daos has of where the inn was located the last time he was here. The square wooden sign shows a buxom and smiling girl holding a flagon of beer. This must be the Inn of the Welcome Wench, a place renowned for its good food and excellent drink! Passing merchants make a point of stopping, as do many other sorts of wayfarers, and it is said that the place is always filled with patrons. A young stable boy and a groom handle the draft and riding animals. "Don't worry about paying here for stabling that will be handled inside the inn. Enjoy your stay." the groom informs anyone leaving their steeds at the inn's stables. (The in is bulding 7 on the map.) Entering the inn you find yourself in the common room. This large place is bright and cheerful. It contains several rough-hewn tables and chairs, boards, and benches. Natural tree trunk pillars support the ceiling overhead, all dark with smoke and age. A motley group of people is here. Half of the 8 customers in the place are travelers (merchants, tinkers, peddlers, etc.), and half are local folk as far as you can tell by the way they are dressed and talking with the staff. Several barmaids and potboys circulate, bringing viands and drink, taking away thees if the day is chill, and so forth. The innkeeper or so you believe it is the innkeeper is bustling about the place, along with his goodwife, their two daughters, a serving wench or two, and a pair of potboy apprentices. The man approaches the group upon noticing them enter the inn he looks the group over and says "Welcome to the welcome wench how might we serve you on this fine day? Do you folks need a meal and something to drink or might I offer some rooms?" looking around the common room you can see there are 2 rooms off to the right and one to the left from the main common room of the inn. Actions?

Daos glances around the room. It looks pretty much how he remembers things. There are some unfamiliar faces--mostly the travelers--but overall, it almost feels like stepping back into childhood again. To the innkeeper, he asks, "How many rooms are available?" He sort of hoped he wouldn't need to share; he valued his privacy, after all. "Could I have a glass of Urnst white wine and maybe some mutton?"

Narya cases the place with her eyes as she scans the room - making note of exits in the event a hasty retreat is in order. She observes any clientele and the proprietor as well. Satisfied there is no immediate threat, she will seat herself to have sightlines of the door and as much of the room as possible. She listens to Daos' order and says, "The same."

He thanks the boy and slips him a few pieces of silver, to make sure Tilly gets seen to first. “Two silver pennies to make sure she wants for nothing, eh?”
He follows the rest inside and takes his seat at the table the others choose. He smiles and places his order. “Give some of your house ale, and the mutton as well. Maybe some roasted onion or carrot.”
