Moving closer Tristen sees the glint of metal as he moves closer it looks like the hilt of a sword wedged behind the wall case.

Tristen checks the space as closely as he can first, then removes the sword, if able.

Daos relaxes upon seeing it is just a sword. "The bandits'? Or maybe it was left over from back when this moat house was still occupied by soldiers. What kind of sword is it?" he asks, not being well versed in the different kinds of blades.

The sword comes out with a bit of effort and the blade is clean and shiny the hilt has a bit of spider web and some dust but otherwise looks no worse for wear. It is indeed a broadsword.

Interesting... there is no tarnish upon it. A good sign.
He takes a few swipes in the air to test the balance.
==== lol, should have taken 'tight group Long blades' hahaha
Wolfy, do you do reduced penalties for similar weapon proficiency?

Taking a few test swings the weapon appears to be in great balance and swings very nicely. Testing the blade it proves to be capable of shaving off arm hair.

Tristen considers the blade and the group. Not seeing many other sword users he asks. Does anyone mind if I test this against our foes for a while?

Narya and Kevril shrug their shoulders.
Kevril "That is fine by me I know how to use a bastard sword not a broad sword."

"When it comes to swords, I know which end the pointy part goes in, but that's about it," Daos admits. "So I have no objection."

"Be my guest," Roshek chimes in. "Shall we continue down the other corridor?"

Tristen nods and secures the blade with his belt and some spare clothes so it doesnt cut him. Readying his bow he prepares to cover the others as the group progresses

As the group heads for the other hallway, Daos remains in the back. He is less concerned now about someone sneaking up behind them, but still keeps an eye out more out of habit at this point.

Investigating the Hallways:Moving back through the trashed/ruined grand hall the group makes it back to the northern hallway that leads westward. As you near the hallway you notice there is an opening if the west wall where it meets the north wall in the grand hallway. Starting down the second hallway the first door you come to is in the south of the hall about halfway down it. Narya checks the door and determines it to be safe and she hears nothing through the door. Kevril opens the door and the room appears to have once been a trophy room. Only a few mangy pelts, stuffed heads, and shattered antlers indicate the former status of the chamber. From the looks of the place the room like the grand hall was looted of all things of any value the room is a wrecked room of it's former glory. Moving on down the hallway to the next door on the south wall Narya and Kevril perform the usual check and determine it to be safe the door opens and reveals a room that looks like it was a bedroom of sorts. This place was the domicile of someones at one time. But is now stripped of everything save broken and ruined furnishings. One wall cresset remains near the outer wall, and its nondescript torch stub is a silver baton. Moving over to the only door on the north wall the usual process is done and the door opens revealing the kitchen of the moat house. The remains of moldering foodstuffs and kitchen work tables are visible. A wooden cask near the fireplace on the north wall looks inviting. Map: UpdatedActions?

"Well, that's that then. No bandits," Daos comments. "Which means either they're holed up in that one room we couldn't get into, or they aren't here at all." Out of curiosity, he checks out the silver baton, wondering if it might be worth anything.

"Well, there's the also the opening we passed on the way here," Roshek notes. "I'd be very surprised if a former stronghold of evil powers didn't have a cellar or dungeon of some sort. Could be the way down is there, but we should certainly finish clearing this floor first." OOC: GreyWolfVT Are my eyes deceiving me is there a set of doors in the big black rectangle at the end of the corridor?
