Zakkoth soften at that. 'Your power as well.. isn't coming from the gods. Is it? Not even the moons.'

Chantilly SweettoothHP: 19/19 - AC: 16 - Perception: 15 - Insight: 11 - Inspiration: No Chantilly giggled as Henry complimented her on her bravery: " Thank you, Lo-hm... Henry. And yes, you're right... But I'd prefer a dead informant over a dead friend." she said smiling back at him after a slight pause, before sprinting back to where she left her backpack. There she took her rope and went back to the spot where the kobolds were camping. Chantilly then scanned the dead bodies to see if some of her arrows were still usable and if the kobolds had something of interest on them. Having done that, she then proceeded to tie the unconscious kobold, before bringing her back to the others.

Caelin Valaerys, pariah of TarkhisisHP: 18 of 18 | AC: 17 | Perception: 15 | Insight: 17 | Inspiration: 0 Conditions: None. Caelin nodded his thanks to Henry as the larger man passed him the rope. The former cultist eyed the half elf up and down as he swayed on his feet, perhaps splitting their forces hadn't been their best strategy. He sighed, patted the man on the shoulder, "Get some rest, while you do I'll get some answers." With that, he dragged the unconscious raider to the singular tree, he ensured the man's chest was pinned before he pulled his arms about the trunk, and looped the rope around them, tightening them further to restrain him, and put uncomfortable strain on his shoulders. He then poured whatever passed for wine from their own supplies across his face, until he sputtered and began to regain consciousness. "Well, well, well," he whispered, pacing back and forth behind the man, knowing he'd be unable to turn his head and see him. "Ain't you in a pretty little mess, raid a town, take your time returning to base camp, and then get captured by the likes of me and my crew." He pulled a long knife from the sheath, letting the blade ring close to the man's ear, "We're going to play a little game, it involves answering my questions, but," he leaned close, the knife edge touching the man's ear, "there's a time limit, if you take yer time, and we can get the kobold squealing first." A sharp intake of breath, "we don't rightly need your answers anymore, do we?" He grabed the man's hair and pulled his face from the tree to look him in the eye, "But you answer my questions before the little runt, then we don't need him, and you get to live."He walked to the front of the tree, smiling as he knelt down, looking at the captive. "So what's it going to be?"

Eliana looks to Zakkoth curiously for a few moments as he considered his words. "Why wouldn't it be coming from the moons?" she asks. "My father was a mage, and I trained under him for years. Admittedly, my magic does work a little differently. I never had to study my spells like father did. I just kind of knew them, but doesn't the power come from the same place?"

Chantilly retrieves her pack, and manages to find two spent arrows that are still in good enough condition to reuse. Using her own rope, she ties up the unconscious kobold, then checks the dead. Aside from their weapons (slings and daggers), they had a sack containing pewter candlesticks, some silver serving dishes, and a few religious carvings of Habbakuk.
Meanwhile, Caelin wakes up the unconscious cultist, who looks around bleary-eyed, but then seems to quickly become more lucid when he realizes he is bound. Listening to Caelin's threats, he replies by spitting at the rogue. "Do what you will. I do not fear death. I'll gladly give my life in the name of the Dragon Queen!" he boasts, puffing his chest out proudly, his eyes blazing with zealotry.

Henry nods at Caelin's words, but before the other may leave he quietly says "They're prisoners. No torture. And do not kill them." then grabs the hand Caelin was patting him with and a delicate light engulfs both, healing some of the warrior's wounds; the squire nods and steps aside, moving the corpses of the recently slain enemies as to give them some dignity in death. {OOC}Henry uses Lay on Hand on Caelin to heal 5 HP.

Caelin Valaerys, pariah of TarkhisisHP: 18 of 18 | AC: 17 | Perception: 15 | Insight: 17 | Inspiration: 0 Conditions: None. Caelin only snorted, "Idiot. I used to think the same, but what has the Queen ever done for you? FOr me? Once I abandoned her, I was ... free." He suddenly spun his head looking over the captive's shoulder. "What's that? We've got another captive? Good, this one isn't talking." As Caelin walked back behind the captive where he was restrained and couldn't see, he kept talking, asking the same questions. Where's the main forces? Is there a rear guard? Where are they camped? How many are there? As he did so, with each question he punctuated it by slapping one of the fallen raiders, stomping his foot against the corpse's knee so the crunch of bone was adible to their living captive. "Not going to be able to walk on that now are ya? Answer the fooking question?!?"He dragged the corpse around the tree, concealing it from their captive, until he shoved it, hard against the trunk, so the first captives hands could feel his companions body. "If you're not going to talk, then just die! We still have one that I might be able to convince." And with that he rammed his short sword through the corpse's abdomen, pinning him to the tree. He then screamed, kicking the tree, cursing in anger before turning his attention back to their captive. "So I'm trying NOT to let my anger get the better of me?" He pointed towards his companions, "They could give a shite about you though, you killed their family, their friends, their comrades in your raid. So try telling us what we want to know and we let you live. Hold your tongue and end up pinned to a tree like your fooking mate there."{Out of Character Actions}OOC: Sorry for channeling a little Sean Connery (Rest in peace!) from Untouchables there, but trying to shake a fanatics faith is hard. I'll try a deception check to see if I can pull it off convincingly, or I just mutilated a corpse for no reason. 1d20+3= 8;2E80eU|T1d20+3 Unless I somehow get advantage that's not going to work. The cultist doesn't seem terribly impressed with Caelin's display. "You think mutilating a corpse is going to scare me? It's just an empty shell. My companions' spirits have gone through the Gate of Souls to meet with Takhisis, and I look forward to joining them there, basking in her awe-inspiring greatness!" He laughs, a bit maniacally. "Go ahead, send me to meet my queen! The sooner, the better!"

Henry lays hands on Caelin, restoring 5 HP. Caelin makes a deception check (1d20+3): 5+3 = 8, fail.

Zakkoth can tell this man is a fanatic, and he is ready--perhaps even eager--to die in his dead goddess' name. He is telling the truth; he absolutely believes she will be waiting for him on the other side of the Gate of Souls, and will welcome him with open arms. He does not fear dying at all.

Zakkoth nod. "He mean it." He say. "I have seen into his heart. I have an idea, but I will require a moment of privacy with him. Maybe I could make him useful.'

Caelin Valaerys, pariah of TarkhisisHP: 13 of 18 | AC: 17 | Perception: 15 | Insight: 17 | Inspiration: 0 Conditions: None. Caelin nodded as Zakkoth spoke to him, before leaving however, he placed a hand on his broad shoulder, leaned in and whispered. "Listen, Henry asked me not to kill him, so I'd," a pause as he took a deep inhale, "so I'd like to abide by that request, if you could?"

"No no. Quite the opposite. I am out of my power, but maybe my sharp tongue will do.'
When the others do give them space, Zakkoth kneel near the cultist and try to speak dracomic- if he doesn't understand move back to common "Do you know who am I? I am Zakkoth, the priest of the Blue Dragonarmy. I have served under the Blue Lady Kitiara- if any mortal were worthy of being Takhisis's avatar on the mortal plane Kitiara was' Zakkoth say it with honest passion... which he failed to kill within himself. So this is a baze of truth to the deception he try to pull.
"I miss the Dark Queen. I grew up in the temple of Neraka. The screams of the human sacrfices were my lullaby. I have joined this rag tag team, because I need them for saferty, and also to pull intel from the Solmanic squire. But I need to join the rest of of the new cult. Your death won't serve the queen as much,as guiding one of her oldest priests back."
