The road leading to Capritol has few travelers--while you see the occasional merchant or troop of soldiers passing by, few stop to say hi. Nothing of interest occurs on the first day of travel, but on the morning of the second, what seems to be a man riding a black bear emerges from the top of a hill on the horizon. They seem to be charging in your direction, which is unlikely to end well if they reach you.

Daos starts preparing a spell if needed.

(OOC: Is bear-riding a common sight, or something unusual in these parts? Are there any kind of checks that can be made to learn more about this? Also, does he appear to be hostile or just running from something?)

As soon as the pair is within 30 ft of Flynn, he casts a spell, causing the bandit to burst out laughing and fall off his bear. The beast merely roars and continues to charge.

Flynn, seeing as the animal is domesticated in some sense, and not currently being commanded by its rider, attempts to calm it, or at least stop it from attacking.
"Easy friend, easy, calm down. We don't want to hurt you." Flynn holds his hands up and talks loudly, but calmly to the bear, hoping to stop it before his friends attack it.

"Qurrak, let's take this opportunity to deal with them separately. No need to harm the animal, so let's just deal with the bandit."
Alonzo will move towards the downed bandit, giving the bear a wide berth, and strike when Qurrak is also in position. If the bear seems to start getting agitated if he moves towards the bandit, he'll back up again and delay his action.
