Ravarie, Hunner, Kori The next morning, the party wakes up and heads down to the common room to order breakfast after a sound and uneventful sleep. A half-dwarven waiter approaches their table. "What'll it be this morning, folks?" he asks cordially.
Grubnick The small cargo ship, the Red Moon, eased into the harbor to dock. Once the anchor was dropped and the gangplank lowered, the handful of passengers aboard stepped down. Among them was a red-skinned goblin in the red and yellow vestments of Sirrion, the Firemaster--or The Flowing Flame as he is largely known in these parts.
He looked around the small town that made up Castle Eastwatch, and the looming keep of the same name. Although technically Ergothian soil, this outpost and a number of the surrounding towns were of Solamnic origin. The nation had slowly been gaining a foothold over the past few years here. When Grubnick decided to come to Southern Ergoth, it had actually been his old associate, Kendra, who recommended Eastwatch. Or rather, Dame Fallenmoon, as she was called now. It was sometimes still hard to believe that Kendra had joined the Solamnic Knights in an attempt to atone for her past crimes in Haven. But then, so much had changed in the past nine years, including himself. No longer needing to hide behind a pseudonym, Grubnick could now proudly bear the icon and vestments of his deity wherever he went.
He spotted a small and rustic inn by the docks, labeled The Huma's Rest. It was as good a place as any to start his personal quest, and besides, it was breakfast time and the food and drink that had been served on that ship left a lot to be desired.

"What's it? Oh, breakfast," Kori says. She stayed up a bit too late last night, thinking about how odd grammar was. "How about an egg? Oh, wait, I don't have any money."

"I'll take care of your breakfast," Ravarie says. "I'll have whatever the special is," she says to the waiter.

Grubnick takes a deep breath of fresh sea air. Wandering these past few years could be... Invigorating. He did his best to seek out terrible injustices... imbalances. Often it was difficult to find places where there was more than a small pocket of trouble. It was odd, really. He had grown so much in the short time in Haven, dangerous and oppressive though it had been. Friends had lost their lives there, including his mentor and the very impetus for his own transformation into a cleric of Sirrion. From what he had gathered, Southern Ergoth had hot spots of slavery and other woes... perhaps the cleansing fire could bring renewal here. Fire smelted ore into iron, tempered steel to make armor... perhaps there was a chance for his own growth again.
Bidding the captain and crew farewell, he leads Ratt to the Inn. Taking his pack from the mule, he tips the stable hand. Heading inside he finds a place to sit with his gear beside him and asks about a room and breakfast. Grubnick takes note of the clientele and condition of the place.
====== not sure what a normal tip would be, 1 sp?

Ravarie, Hunner, Kori"Right, one egg...and one special," the half-dwarf says. "Anything else?" "Uh, is there anything on your menu that does not contain meat?" Lalora asks. "No," the waiter answers. "What about the bread? Is there much meat in that?" asks Sorrith. "Yes," the waiter answers. Lalora sighs and starts digging through her pack. "I think I still have some quith-pa in here then..." "Excellent choice," the waiter says. "Steak and eggs," Kudak says, ignoring the disgusted looks the siblings give him. "And that just leaves you two," the waiter says, turning to Hunner and Zalura. "Psst, don't forget to get me some tuna or something!" Habbakuk reminds Kori, hopping into her lap. (OOC: And you interpret correctly; Solinari is waxing and aligned with Lunitari, so as a result, Kori gets a big power boost today.) GrubnickAfter paying for stabling, Grubnick inquires about a room and breakfast. As it turns out, several rooms have just opened up, so that won't be a problem. Looking around the common area, he can see a number of folk eating, drinking and talking. The place is packed with adventuring types; knights and wizards and clerics (although none of Sirrion, at least that he can see). One table that really stands out has a rather eclectic group, mostly comprised of peoples that generally speaking, don't usually get along with each other. Sitting at this table are two male humans (one dressed as a Knight, the other wearing the vestments of Mishakal) and five elves--a Qualinesti woman wearing the White Robes of Solinari; a Kagonesti woman in leathers with the icon of Habbakuk, the Blue Phoenix, around her neck; two Silvanesti, a man and a woman, who look similar enough that they may be related--the man wearing splendid elven chain and the woman wearing no armor at all but with a bow slung over her back and dressed in camouflaging greens and browns; and finally...a type of elf Grubnick has never seen before. She has long, wavy orange hair, crimson red eyes and chalky white skin. She's also wearing almost nothing, basically what amounts to a short skirt that looks to be woven out of kelp, a bikini top of similar material, and a black gemstone necklace around her neck. She draws quite a few looks from other patrons, some of intrigue or curiosity, others more of suspicion or distrust. (OOC: Stabling for the day usually costs around 5 silver. That includes food, water and patdown service.)

[Of the clerics he can see about, what gods are represented (not among the party). I know Habbakuk and Sirrion have good relations. How are sirrion's relations generally with Mishakal? Grubnick would pay the general stabling fees mentioned and tip the groom a silver atop that.]
Grubnick orders a hearty breakfast with meat and eggs and coffee (if available) and nods politely to the group. He will secure a room for two days (for now) and ask the inkeep (if available) if there has been any trouble hereabouts lately.

Ravarie, Hunner, Kori "Bread and ale for the knight and exotic lady...and fish for the cat," the half-dwarf repeats. "Right, be right back then." And he heads off to the kitchen.
"So I assume we'll be leaving as soon as we finish eating?" Sorrith asks as his sister hands him some quith-pa. "Or was there more to do first in town?"
Grubnick Mishakal and Sirrion are generally neutral toward each other. Mishakal's clergy are only really concerned about helping others, and as long as Sirrion's clergy isn't actively harming folk, they tend to leave each other alone.
Looking around the room, Grubnick can see the vestments or icons of mostly Solamnic favored deities, like Paladine and Kiri-Jolith. There are a couple of Majere, as well.
While a waiter goes to fetch his food, the innkeeper chats with him a bit. "Things have been pretty quiet in these parts. But we get word of things from all over here. You heard about the trouble in the Southern Woods, north of here? Word on the road is that some kind of ghost is haunting the wood, stopping anyone from cutting down any trees."

Grubnick nods, Sprit of some kind, eh? Hmmm... has anyone been seriously injured? Or killed? Where could I find out more details about this? He leaves off from asking much more detail from the inkeep, figuring likely the man was not directly involved in dealing with the issue.

Grubnick "Lot of lumberjacks died, yeah," the innkeeper answers. "Broadblade, the lord of the keep, sent some knights to go deal with it. But they never came back. Probably dead, too. Then, at least according to rumor, a knight who was thought to have died in the war just showed up randomly yesterday." He leans forward on the bar, going into full gossip mode. "What I heard is that it's actually Broadblade's brother-in-law. He showed up with a harem of elven women, and boy, was Broadblade not too happy about it. Supposedly, he sent that knight and his elven women to go investigate the spirit. Not so sure they'll have much better luck, though."
