Henry The two guards under Henry's supervision are Eldkin Agetul, a Hylar Dwarf from the nearby dwarven nation of Kayolin, and Leda Widris, an Arktos woman from Icereach. Eldkin is something of a perfectionist, and constantly brings up the fact that she has made this trip several times already. Leda, having grown up in the frozen south among the snows and frozen seas, is looking forward to getting the full experience of the warmer north. While one eats, the other guards, and during this time Henry tries to discreetly keep an eye on the cultists. Interestingly, they keep their wagons apart from each other. If he didn't know better, he'd swear they were completely independent and didn't even know each other; they seem quite adept at playing the role of strangers. He does note that the cultists turn away any one who offers to pay to ride in their wagons, no matter how generous the offer. He also has not, at least so far, managed to seen any sign of Mondath, Cyanwrath or the black-scaled person Eliana claimed to have seen in the palanquin. As for security, each wagon has a merchant, a teamster, and only a single guard protecting it.
Chantilly "Well, my brother and I have had some luck with kender guards--well, afflicted ones, anyway. We find that they are pretty good at keeping thieves away. And, well, just about everyone else, too," Noohar says. "Besides, you made a compelling case of your skills, and your cooking is a nice bonus, as well."
Selvek signs something and his brother laughs and nods. "Oh, yes, and well, cinnamon is my favorite spice, so it seemed like serendipity. That, too," Noohar says.
"Might as well," Noohar answers. "We're going to be seeing a lot of each other over the next couple of months, after all. What do you think, brother?"
Selvek nods silently.

Eliana, or rather Kysriani, was sticking close to Edhelri Lewel as she was her bodyguard. She wasn't sticking so close to her that she was annoying, but she was keeping an eye on everything. Once she took a seat for lunch, she looked over to Edhelri, and decided to make sure light conversation. "Do you make this trip often?" she asks.

Matrym laughed as the wagon master finished his story, "Achreny, you fat bastard. If that story's not a pile of dung may the God's strike me dead!" He passed the large man a wine skin, "Any woman saw your naked flesh on dark night, she'd think Solinari fell to earth to birth a child as big as an ox. Still, I suppose many a handsome man are shamed by the size of your purse!" He guffawed, slapping a hand on his thigh.
"You finish that wine, I'll check the wagons. If I find some nymph sleeping beneath your skins, I'll be sure to bring her your way." He smirked, though his face turned serious, "You done this stretch of road with any of these wagoners before? Anything I should know, any of them warrant old Matrym's attention?"

Quevalin - HP: 36\36 - Conditions: None - Active Effects: None
---------------
At least the Cult is doing a decent job at being quite easy to spot, couldn't have been more obvious they're hiding something. Still Quevalin keeps his distance, better not risk to burn his cover on the first day. Besides he has other angles to work: Eldkin claims to be a veteran of this route, so Quevalin tries to get information out of her and appease her wounded ego (or at least what the half-elf believes is a wounded ego) by asking her what happened during previous trips, what kind of danger she has faced, and if she has seen suspicious activities in the past - the squire wants to know more about the Cult but without saying it directly and also to show Eldkin he values her expertise. Also, if someone else is talking he doesn't have to talk that much.

"Do you make this trip often?" "No," Elhelri says as she nibbles on some quith-pa. "Not this specific path, anyway. I used to charter a boat instead, but pirates became too much of a problem. More shipments were stolen than not, and I would have lost everything had I continued that way." "You done this stretch of road with any of these wagoners before? Anything I should know, any of them warrant old Matrym's attention?" "All of it is true, may Shinare strike me down if I lie," Achreny swears, holding up a solemn hand. "If you don't believe me, just ask your ma!" he jokes. "And no, I have never made this trip before," he admits. "But with this many wagons and guards, any bandits or monsters should leave us alone. So I am not too worried." Eldkin claims to be a veteran of this route, so Quevalin tries to get information out of her and appease her wounded ego (or at least what the half-elf believes is a wounded ego) by asking her what happened during previous trips, what kind of danger she has faced, and if she has seen suspicious activities in the past - the squire wants to know more about the Cult but without saying it directly and also to show Eldkin he values her expertise. Also, if someone else is talking he doesn't have to talk that much. Eldkin is more than happy to regale stories of her past times on this trip. She speaks of bandits, goblins, draconians and once, a couple of years ago, how they saw a dragon fly overhead. There was a heated debate on whether it was a gold dragon or a blue dragon (Eldkin insists it was gold) at the time, but the previous group could never reach a consensus. If she knows anything at all about the cult, she does not mention it. She knows of nothing suspicious, and if asked, claims she has never seen the cultists posing as merchants before in previous trips.

"Have you managed to talk to any of the other people in this carvan?" Eliana asks curiously. "From the looks of it, there are quite a few different people."

"I try not to," Elhelri answers. "I'm not the biggest fan of 'people.'"

Chantilly "Cinnamon" SweettoothHP: 35/35 - AC: 17 - Perception: 15 - Insight: 11 - Inspiration: Yes Chantilly blushes and chuckles at the compliments she's receiving for her cooking skills, as she scribbles down on her notes the word "Serendipity". Maybe the life of a spy isn't that bad after all!" Oh, Mr Serelim, you should have said that sooner! At the next stop I will buy some ingredients to bake you my famous roll, full of cinnamon of course. Do you like the flavour as well, Mr Selvek?" " Oh, and speaking of the next stop. Could you remind me how's our trip planned?"

When the dwarven lady has no more words to offer, she turns to Leda and Samardag and tries to bait them into talking more about themselves; when the two of them seems well under way to share something about them, the half-elf tries to subtly and politely divert the conversation to the trip ahead - maybe on of them has any information about the Cult, has seen them before, but course without being too overt.

"Oh, and speaking of the next stop. Could you remind me how's our trip planned?" Selvek signs something and Noohar translates. "He says he does, but also points out that he is also Mr. Serelim. We are brothers, after all." "As for the trip, it depends on how long one stays for it," Noohar explains. "Some merchants drop off early, others will join up along the way. But the end of the road, so to speak, is the city of North Keep in Nordmaar. It's a trip of over 450 miles total. There are a number of roadside inns and small villages along the way, but most nights we will spend in the wild." "Hmm, as a result though, you are probably pretty observant," Kysriani says thoughtfully. "What do you think about this whole caravan?" she asks. Edhelri shrugs. "Pretty standard collection of merchants and travelers, as far as I can tell. Why do you ask?" Quevalin is courteous in is listening, nodding politely at times but leaving Eldkin quite free to talk as much as she wants. Probing Leda and Samardag doesn't lead anywhere; neither seems familiar with the cult. Leda, in fact, doesn't seem to know much at all about 'the north' as she calls it. She could talk hours about the Thanoi (Walrus Folk) or Ursoi (Bear Folk) of Icereach, or the politics of the various Arktos tribes, but knows almost nothing about Solamnia, Estwilde, or the various faiths or political factions found in either. As for Samardag, he seems convinced that any followers of the Dragon Queen have moved on since her death.

"There could be dangers within a large amount of people," Kyrsriani says. "But everything appears to be normal." "Rather the opposite," Edhelri comments. "All these people have come together for safety. Going it out alone is the real danger. Otherwise, I'd happily do that instead." As lunch winds down, the caravans start to pack up again to resume their journey.

"Beyd. Right?" "Sharq" smile a grin filled with teeth. "Donchyou worry." He tried to mimic the more careless way the younger draconians had, growing in relative security, not hatched to be soldiers from birth. "I wont let anything to hurt your sweet sweet ale!"
