Regar thinks of chiming in about knowing some friends that are in a dwarf merchant guild but decides it is not important. "Mainly we are trying to gather allies and forces to take down the ogres. Unless I am confused as I get from time to time too many thoughts going on in my head some days." is all he chimes in with at the moment.

"He's right," Ravarie says. "The ogres are a threat to pretty much everyone on Ergoth," she explains. "They keep encroaching upon everyone's lands a little bit more every year, so something needs to be done about it. If we were to team up, gather the Ergothian forces, maybe we can be rid of them for good."

"Invade the Ogrelands? That's madness," Dasoto says. "They have three times the numbers we have, and are considerably larger and stronger. And team up with who? You seven? I somehow doubt that will turn the tides any. We'd need a massive army to even try something that ambitious."

"I never said it wasn't a huge undertaking," Ravarie admits. "And since it is my idea, I would obviously help you come up with a solid plan on how to do this. I also realize that you don't know who we are, or even if you can trust us, so what can we do to even establish an alliance?"

"Perhaps," Dasoto says, leaning back. "But first, I would need to know two things from you. First, what exactly is your plan? Because in a straight war, we stand no chance at all against the Ogres. Second, of what benefit is this to me? The Ogres are across the bay, and are no immediate threat as far as I can see. Not to us, anyway. My people are tired of war, I would need a very good reason to consider starting a new one."

Regar nods his head "I know how you feel, I've seen enough war. But I think and fear that if we do not do something about the ogres they will keep pushing and taking more and more from us until we are eventually killed, enslaved or forced out."

Regar is right. Their aggression has been felt by many communities, as I am sure the desire to be rid of such an encroaching force. The plan would naturally have to conform to the amount of suport we are able to garner.
We have come to you first, and at this stage perhaps the promise of support in the event of other groups joining would be a good first step. While we are no match for an army, certainly, we are not without our own resource and ability and would be taking an active part in execution of the endeavor.
You could be seen by nearby allies as a visionary who took the first steps to rid the continent of this growing menace.

"And just who exactly is it you hope to garner support from?" Dasoto asks. "And why start here, and not with your own peoples?"

"Starting with our own people would make sense, normally," Ravarie admits. "But things between the elven nations are tense, so it would end up being more difficult because it would require settling differences that have been rooted into each race for hundreds of years," she explains.

"Then you are suggesting the elves won't be able to help with this endeavor?" Dasoto asks. "So who exactly will?"

"Wouldn't it be easier to convince the Elves to help us if we already had some support?" Kori whispers to Ravarie.

Regar "I don't rightly know how easily my own people will agree to help, But I do plan to find out. Though we did happen to already be out this way it was quicker to come here first."

Ravarie looks to Kori and shakes her head. "The elves are keeping slaves too," she points out in a whisper. She turns back to the Regent. "There are knights that might help," she says.

"Knights? You mean the Solamnics?" asks Dasoto. "Hmph, those so-called do-gooders have been swallowing up Southern Ergoth themselves. They claim they are only there to protect some tomb, but they have half a dozen villages pledging loyalty to them. But even so, they wouldn't be enough, even if they did agree to help. They are, if anything, even fewer in number than we. No, I would need the cooperation of both the Solamnics and the Elves to even attempt such an endeavor. Furthermore, I would need to unite my own people as well, who remain divided between those who wish independence from the north and those who wish to rejoin it."

Ravarie lets out a sigh. She didn't really know how to make this work out without the cooperation of the elves at this point. "I can't get the cooperation of the elves," she says. "Well, I might be able to get the cooperation of the Kagonesti providing I can unite the tribes that are left," she says. She figured she could use her birthright as a chosen one of the Blue Phoenix to help unite the tribes. "The Silvanesti might find the Kagonesti uniting worrisome, but at the same time they don't think we are civilized so they might not find that to be a threat. The Qualinesti are more open to the Kagonesti, but it would still take some doing to form an alliance between them. At that point, the Silvanesti might think their cousins are trying to attack them. In the end, the Silavnesti are an issue. I can't even convince the two Silvanesti with me that what their people are doing are wrong."
