Lost Souls is my homebrewed 2E setting. It consists of five continents, each having a different flavor and feel to them. Renosia is my 'dark fantasy' setting. It's dark, gritty, and overtly supernatural--lots of emphasis on fiends, undead, and such.
Here is the elevator pitch: On the continent of Renosia, there is a land where fiends from the lower planes are free to come and go as they please. There was a long era of death and destruction, but eventually peace was made and a city was built where mortals and fiends could live together. However, while there is peace, there is no harmony. Fiends and their spawn hold all of the power and influence, while the mortal races are left to scrape by. The police, magistrates and politicians are corrupt and unforgiving. But the party are a group of detectives and vigilantes who work to help those folk whom the system neglects or oppresses.
The current party consists of the following:
Female Drow Witch
Female Drow Priest of Renos (Wildfire)
Female Human Paladin (Octhanus)
Male Duergar Pest Controller
Up to two more may join if they wish.
Like all of my games, I post about once a day on average. In combat, we'll wait three days on someone before closing the round without them.
PCs start at level 1 with standard starter wealth. PCs are generated with 4d6, drop the lowest, arrange to taste. HP is max at 1st level. Optional and house rules used can be found here.
Note, Renosia is a dark land, so the common races are a little unusual. Or rather, their sub-races are. The setting has the standard Elves, Dwarves, Gnomes, Halflings, Humans and Half-Elves. But they are Drow, Duergar, Svirfneblin, Skelm (a homebrewed sub-race based loosely on the cannibalistic halflings from Dark Sun), and Half-Drow. In addition, Goblins, Hobgoblins and Tieflings are all playable, as are certain kinds of Genasi. There are additional races that can be chosen, but they require DM's permission. See the full list here.
Despite the unusual race choices and the dark and gritty nature of the setting, this is explicitly NOT an 'Evil' game. In fact, PCs are working for a small organization dedicated to helping the downtrodden and fighting against Evil. While Evil characters are not forbidden, anyone wanting to play one will need to come up with an explanation for why they would be spending their time helping the helpless.
Any questions, let me know. I have enough people to start already, but I'm putting this up officially just so it's there and in case anyone else wants in.
