For what it's worth, it's not all your fault. The ONK would have found some way to hassle the party no matter what they said or did.

Well, yes, but I don’t know how to say it. And for some reason, this game situation is inordinately distressing me—I don’t know, maybe because this is all my fault (as mentioned above) and I’m paralyzed with indecision and whatnot. I am sorry to hear that you feel stressed by the situation, Gravity ): To be honest I am enjoying myself, it is nice to have to get out of tricky situations in-game. Maybe trying to see it as a puzzle to be solved could help you enjoying it too. Speaking about accountability, as Daos says, they simply found a bone to bite and they were looking for it, so it's not your fault in the least. What's more, it's not like anything happened, at most we'll have to part with some gold coins. No biggie there, in and out of game

For me it's all fun, and if characters do mistakes it part of it

Honestly ( and Daos might get annoyed with me for this) I don't think I like solving problems or facing obstacles in D&D, at least in a way where I can't rely on game mechanics to carry me. It's way too distressing to have to come up with solutions that would actually work, and it's extra hard because I don't know how the DM will react. I'm already bad at problem-solving in real life, you know. What I'm saying is, having to come up with an actual, proper response instead of just rolling a skill check is throwing me.

Unfortunately, this kind of roleplay is a fundamental part of the game I'm afraid, so I think it's virtually impossible to skip it completely, but you have your team behind you. When we end up in such a situation again, you can let the rest of us do the heavy lifting and tag along to lessen the pressure and we can coordinate in here at leisure.
And then who knows, in time you might even start to enjoy it. Life likes to surprise us xD

Personally speaking, I like those kind of situations especially because I'm bad at it in real life lol at least here I have more time to think, the rest of the party to help, and there are less severe drawback in case I mess up xD

I'm not annoyed, just perplexed on how to fix the issue. I try to accommodate players when and where I can, but I don't see a way around this one. Every game has some kind of conflict to resolve or obstacle to overcome.

Well, I had an anxiety episode earlier today, so please take my complaints with a grain of salt. I'm dealing with some real-life issues at the moment.

Hope that it's nothing too serious and that could be solved!

I can relate, as someone who's dealing with anxiety, as well. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

I swear to the heavens above. If this will be a high level campaign, I'll organise a revolution in full commie style to get rid once and for all of the ONK xD

If you're patient enough, anything is possible.

Well, if Tukgruff makes it to 4th level, he can unlock the Read Languages thief skill, so there's that to look forward to.
