"We can't abandon our crew," Hafgrim objects.
"He's right," Styrkunn agrees. "We have to go save them."

Parra is frusrated. "They probably left them there, just to slow us down! UGH Barnacles. Fine. I guess we have no choice."

Sumina would rather not deal with the moth thing, and head after the escaping ship, but they had agreed to help these people so it seemed like they were going after the moth to help the survivors of the Will-O'-Wisp.

Let's draw that moth-shaped main-sail away from the survivors! He shouts, preparing a javelin himself to suit his own orders.
As they draw near he catches Sumina's ear... (depending on how Daos answers..)
==== Daos, since there are quite a few npcs around and we have a decision point;
Is there time to drop those that want to help to fight the moth while others give chase? Like in a drive by the shallows?
Or is there only time to do one or the other?

(OOC: Crunching the numbers, yeah, it should be possible to do a drive-by (sail-by?) and then continue pursuit of the minotaur ship.)

"That is spiliting our forces," Sumina says. "And that usually isn't a good idea."

Too true, he murmurs where she can hear.
To the helmsman he says, Get us close but don't beach us. I'd like to keep mobile if we can...
To the others he calls out, Ready the rowboats and prepare to go ashore! Sha'al
=== Sha'al will aim for the closest place to shore with deep enough water they don't get stuck.
How long will it take to get the party and the visiting npcs in rowboats across? Can we do it in 1 trip?

(OOC: Realistically, probably not because we have two (2) L-sized Minotaurs in the party. But for the sake of moving things forward, and since we never established how many rowboats the Dark Squall has, I'll allow it.)

The party quickly disembark, along with Hafgrim and Styrkunn, and paddle to the shore. From there, they get a better view of things. First, there's the moth. It's quite large, maybe eight feet across, and its wings are covered with shimmering, geometric patterns of black and silver. It has large, fern-like black antennae tipped with white and eight legs each ending in a pearly claw. It is not alone, as first believed. Two of its young--a pair of giant caterpillars (perhaps six feet in length) are on the ground below it, attacking, as well.
There are 25 crewmen here on the island, including Viturbo and Emelia (Hafgrim's apprentice) who are fighting with daggers to little avail, Vaughn the helmsman (who appears completely unarmed), Munirr who is fighting as best he can, attacking one of the worms with his bastard sword and wearing leather armor banded with elegant brass reinforcements and Gjafny who appears panicked, attacking anything that gets near her, including her own men. Also present, strangely enough, is Cordelia. She is missing her cloak and like Vaughn, seems helpless against these opponents.
The party rushes forward. When they are about 150 feet away from the fight, Hafgrim makes an offer. "I have a scroll with a spell of flight upon it. If anyone wants it, I can cast it on you. Just say the word."

(OOC: Roll initiative and state actions for Round 01. Remember that they are 150 feet away, so take that into account for range and movement; remember, you can check your movement speed and encumbrance level on the Character Stats thread.)

"Someone else can take him up on that offer," Sumina says before she starts praying to her God to cause fear in the hearts of her enemy (the caterpillars).

Grank or Art, if you want that flight to fight the Momma-moth it's yours! Otherwise I'll get it in a few seconds. He calls out, instead moving forward and hurling his javelin at the flying threat and trying to draw it's attention away from the others.

Hafgrim shrugs when nobody takes him up on his offer, so he draws his staff and Styrkunn draws his hammer and the two run forward. "Why is Cordelia here of all places? Did the Minotaurs forget her or something?" the mage wonders.
"Hopefully she can tell us herself, if we can keep her alive!" the dwarf replies.
Granker wordlessly runs forward, as does Parra. Sumina, however, remains where she is and begins praying to Sargonnas. However, the worms are far beyond her range, and so nothing happens.
Kaelestia moves forward and also begins to pray, calling down a narrow beam of sunlight on the moth. But the creature evades, suffering no harm.
Sha'al moves forward and hurls a javelin at the moth from medium range, but also misses. The erratic way the moth moves, coupled with its wings flapping so fast, makes it a very slippery target, indeed.

Round 01!
Styrkunn moves 60 feet forward. He is now 90 feet away. Worm 01 attacks the crew. Granker moves 80 feet forward. He is now 70 feet away. Kaelestia moves 40 feet forward. She is now 110 feet away. She casts Sunscorch on the moth. Moth saves vs. spell (1d20): 16, pass. It misses. djvn4LNb1d20 Sumina makes no movement, so remains 150 feet away. She casts Cause Fear. The targets are out of range (30 feet), so it has no effect. Hafgrim moves 120 feet forward. He is now 30 feet away. Worm 02 attacks the crew. Parra moves 80 feet forward. She is now 70 feet away. Sha'al moves 40 feet forward. He is now 110 feet away. He throws a javelin at medium range (-2 hit) with excellent aim (+2 hit) at Moth [TH 16] (1d20): 10, miss. Moth attacks the crew.
