Sha'al listens, taking in the surrounding conversations but silently musing to himself.

"Uh...no, can't say that I do," Hafgrim answers, raising a brow. Parra sigh. "This could have helped to cast a very mean spell I have.. but it very difficult to use it practicly. The best I did with it, was to punish a kender. Umf."

"Parra is going to make us look like weirdos," Sumina says to Sha'al softly. "Look at that man's face," she adds with a light laugh.

Sha'al shakes his head ruefully at Sumina's comment. Are we not? He asks, with a wry twist to his mouth. But taking the hint he moves towards Parra to speak to her.
Parra, Kaele. Do we have any magics or prayers that could immobilize a large number of them? Or something that could do great damage to their ship? He asks, hopefully focusing the conversation away from the voodoo dolls he was certain Parra was preparing to mention next.

Parra nod. "I actually have copied a spell that might help- A firewater spell. I can make certain amount of water flamable. . so if we can throw bunch of this water and then combine with fire- possibly a fire spell, we can start a big problem for them." she shrug
"And I have a Sleep spell which usually does it"s job."

"Although spells of slumber tend not to be effective against creatures as stubborn as minotaurs," Hafgrim notes.

"Trying to hold them magically doesn't work either," Sumina says.

*Hearing Sumina's and Sha'al's comments he tries to fight back a laugh and smile failing on both accounts as his face twists into a rather comical half grimace half smile as a snort and cough eruts from his throat.*

After a few hours of travel, Styrkunn notes they are nearing the island where the Will O' Wisp will make the prisoner exchange. "Let's keep our distance, so we aren't seen. We'll wait for a signal if needed."
However, a short time later Hafgrim points to the horizon grimly. "Smoke," he remarks. Indeed, large black plumes of smoke are floating over the island. "I think we have trouble."

Shit... something's wrong... or it's right and they escaped on the island...
= Does the smoke look like a campfire? Or like something is wrong/ out of control?
How far is it to the island? What is the speed of the boat or a life-boat/ rowboat?
Would Sha'al as a sea otter be faster to swim to the island than the boat at speed 18?

From what Sha'al can see, there is way too much smoke for a single campfire. Something far larger is burning.
The island is still a couple of miles off. At full speed, they should arrive there on the Dark Squall far faster than with a rowboat or swimming.
"I suggest you call battlestations and set sail at full speed for the island," Hafgrim remarks. "Something is amiss."

Sha'al nods, Everyone make ready, looks like we've got trouble. He says to the others. Sumina, help make sure everyone is in order if combat breaks out. Sha'al will stand near the helm and to whomever is on duty directing the seafaring crew he'll say, Let's start closing the distance... leaving it to their other experienced seafolk to parse the order into the myriad small tasks it takes to make it so.

The crew quickly gets to work, and soon the Dark Squall is surging ahead. Unfortunately, the local winds are still fighting it. Tacking into the wind, zigzagging toward the island, the party can see that Will-O'-Wisp has been put to the torch. Her sails are gone, and her hull is damaged beyond repair.
The island is not more than a couple hundred feet long and half as wide, the highest point marked with a great banner: a black field charged with a gold shield. The rocks are covered in small purple flowers, and the wind carries their scent over the Dark Squall. The wind also carries shouts of panic, as the remaining crew members of the Will-O'-Wisp scramble over the rocks, desperately afraid of something.
As the island approaches, the party can see a monstrous moth shape slowly rise from behind a high outcropping and bear down on the stranded survivors. Another ship can be seen sailing away in the distance, heading due east, her black and gold flags waving in front of her.
