Chispa follows Roxahlia with the group thinking about the symbolism of the songs and the practice of this idea in life. Each one sings his own part with no coordination with the others could lead to complete mess, but maybe that's one of the main factors in creativity. Mess, breaks custom. Mess can lead to new inventions. For a moment she is inspired. But mess also can destroy good ideas. When order and logic flow are important, a good idea may lose it's spark if not well presented... Then she tries to generalize these ideas not only to singing but also to other fields of creation. She would have to contemplate on this and maybe consult Vulpi or her superiors once they are back at their base.
And of course she is going to witness this "Mess" first handedly which may teach her much about the subject. Motivated she looks up to the coming event.

The town of Promise is situated where the red, fertile soil (an area Roxahlia calls The Ribbon) meets the coastline. Its paved streets and colorful two-story buildings are well made and beautiful. Currently, the annual Awakening Festival is underway, and the streets are alive with vibrant music. As the history of the land is recounted through song, musicians play instruments of many kinds. Their performances meld together as passersby join in during choruses, uniting the entire community in a single collective celebration.
Stalls throughout the community sell local crafts, musical instruments and street foods. Small straw dolls wearing colorful shirts and dresses are widely available, and some stalls even offer custom made dolls that resemble the buyer, if they don't mind waiting a little.
"Well, I better go find my family," Roxahlia tells the group. "But y'all have fun. And if I don't see y'all again today, be sure to swing by the Elemental Plate again soon."

ooc: I assume it is morningish like around noon or just before? IDK how long travel takes.
Vulpi will get some sort of vegetarian/insectavorian street food they can carry and eat before going to look at woodworking pieces and tools, metalwork, and textiles.

From what Vulpi can tell, it's still morning on this world; perhaps mid- to late-morning.
The dolls cost 5 copper each, although if one wants a custom one made to look like themselves, it costs 7 copper instead.

Vulpi searches for food that isn't deep fried, Chispa sticks close to Ha-Yun, and Zencho searches for dolls while Seeboe disappears in the crowd on his own. However, as part of the crowd begins another verse of the Awakening Song, four people wearing the garb of farm folk wander into their midst. Rather than singing, they stare blankly, their eyes swirling with crimson, resembling bloody, unshed teardrops. Then they surge forward into the celebrants, raising rusty farming implements. At once the singing turns to screams and yells as people begin to flee in terror. One woman, however, holds her ground. Seeming to recognize some of the attackers, she calls out to them, trying to reason with them. "Stop, what are you doing?" she cries. "Diya, Saffran, June; this isn't you!" ================ (OOC: Everyone roll initiative and state actions for Round 01. As GardenGnome has not posted in three weeks, I'll be NPCing him for this scene.) (You can click the map to enlarge it. Each square is roughly 5 feet in size. The numbers are the attackers, the 'c's' are commoners (who are currently fleeing, save one), V is Vulpi, H is Ha-Yun, Z is Zencho, Ch is Chispa and s is Seeboe.) Initiative: iwBEKuyb1d20+3Vulpi will drop their pack If Vulpi continues to not have an adjacent crazed farmer:{ grab their bow and a few arrows (assuming shortswords are worn at waist). Run west to the space South-South-West of where 1 currently is (approximately so as to not be within 5 feet of a crazed farmer but to have a clear shot on 4). Shoot an arrow at 4 1d20+7 : if damage 1d8+3then pull out a shortsword(s) (if required will drop bow but rather stow it on back with quiver or something) then if enough movement left will action surge and go to tackle 1 otherwise just move to be as close to a crazed farmer as possible Possible tackle (assuming grapple mechanics strength(athletics): 1d20+1 [note grapple mechanics talk about grabbing a creature, I am hoping to instead tackle tackle them, like take them to the ground probably going to the ground myself with them. I imagine this uses primarily arms and legs making hands less necessary because not grabbing but trying to land on top of. However, I recognize this isn't coded in the rules, so possibly Vulpi has just one shortsword out. Regardless I imagine it would be a strength(athletics) check] } Else (meaning Vulpi is accosted by a crazed farmer): {Vulpi will just pull out their shortswords and action attack bonus action off hand attack the accosting crazed farmer Attack: 1d20+5, if damage 1d6+3Off hand attack: 1d20+5, if damage 1d6} OOC: GardenGnome messaged me, I told him to message you Daos, but I guess he didn't. Zencho who was looking for the dolls, stop in his track take big sip of ale from his gourd. "Um. I guess some knocking downs for peace have came in our path."
And take a very lazy swingly stance, like a scarecrow or a rug doll. He run very clumsily toward 2 and give a swing with his quarterstaff to their shoulder to nonlethaly knock dowm.

Ha Yun is slightly surprised as she starts hearing the screams of the people instead of the singing. She looks over to where the commotion is taking place, and her eyes widen a bit. "What in the...," she says, trailing off as she moves a few feet closer before she starts chanting the words of a spell to try to make these possessed people become just a little more weaker.
OOC: Bane on the possessed people.

The festival goers flee in all directions, running and yelling, some grabbing small children up on their way to carry them to safety. Only the party and the one woman remain, so the farmers turn their attention to them. One rushes at Vulpi, swinging a sickle wildly. The elf easily dodges. It's clear to Vulpi this is no soldier or warrior; his technique is far too sloppy and undisciplined. Vulpi counters with two quick jabs of their sword; neither strike, as they are more just testing out their opponent's defenses at the moment. Seeboe, shillelagh in hand, hurries over to aid Vulpi, striking the farmer in the jaw with such force, he almost collapses. But he just barely manages to stay on his feet, blood dripping from his mouth. Another farmer rushes at Ha-Yun, slashing at her with a hoe. The retired idol suffers a nasty slash across the face, blood splatting on the ground. Ignoring the pain, she begins singing a song of doom, which seems to affect the two nearest farmers. A third farmer charges at Zencho, catching him slightly with a rake across the face. The monk takes it in stride and counters with his staff, trying to knock the farmer out, rather than going for the kill. The final farmer goes after Chispa, but her shovel is of little avail against the dwarf's thick armor. Chispa swings her hammer, nearly taking the farmer out in one blow. She also mutters a prayer under her breath, and suddenly Ha-Yun's wounds heal up almost entirely. The one woman who stood her ground swings a club at the farmer facing Chispa, but misses. "Please, don't kill them!" she pleads with the party. "They aren't themselves!" ============= InitiativeFarmer 01: 22 Farmer 03: 19 Farmer 02: 15 Vulpi: 11 Farmer 04: 10 Brave Woman: 10 Seeboe: 9 Ha-Yun: 8 Chispa: 8 Zencho: 3 Round 01!Commoners flee! Vulpi will attack non lethally the one in front of them DnPBBObJ1d20+5: If hit dmg: 1d6+3
If the farmer is still up: they will use their bonus action to attack non lethally with their off hand 1d20+5: If hit dmg 1d6
Else Vulpi will grab a hand axe off the side of their pack on the ground and move to be within 20 ft of farmer 03 and bonus action off hand throw their handaxe at farmer 03
1d20+3 (possibly should be +5 if the "archer fighting style": "attacks with ranged weapons" include thrown weapons*): If hit dmg 1d6
Then use the rest of their movement (note backpack is still on ground) to get closer to farmer 02
*From our discussion about sharpshooter and ranged weapon attacks I'd think the answer is yes the archery fighting style would apply, but we didn't actually discuss the fighting style, just that similar language is used.1d20+5·1d6+3·1d20+5·1d6·1d20+1·1d6
