NPCs

Otik Sandeth - Otik has a loud, jolly voice that carries over the rumble of a crowded room. He is a large man (impressively so) but so friendly that those who have never seen his anger tend to underestimate him. He truly enjoys his life as an inn owner and barkeep and would not do anything else. He feels that he brings much good to the world by serving hungry and thirsty people the best food and drink that he can. There are few who have dined at his Inn of the Last Home who would dispute his inn’s reputation.

When dealing with unruly patrons, Otik prefers to quiet them with a free drink so that everyone can get back to having a good time. When this proves impossible, Otik tumbles the offending party out the door.

Otik was an adventurer for a time, but found that a life of constant alertness and violence was not for him. When he saved up a bit, he settled down to create the kind of quiet, friendly inn where he had found pleasure when living on the road. The name Inn of the Last Home reflects his desire to settle here in comfort till the end of his days.

Tika Waylan - Tika is a rosy-cheeked girl with eager eyes and curly, short-cropped dark red hair. She has a willowy form, green eyes, and freckles on her face.

Tika began work as a barmaid for her adopted father Otik in 346 AC, at the age of fourteen.

In 350 AC when the Companions returned after their five year sojourn, Tika told them to sneak out the back of the Inn when the Seekers sought their arrest for possession of the Blue Crystal Staff. She also told them to hide in her home in Solace until things blew over.

Bacch - A satyr in the Darkenwood that the party encountered. He and his companions got Kendra, Marik, and Barlemus drunk on Feywine. What happened after that is a bit of a mystery.

Forestmaster - The Forestmaster is a unicorn that lives in Darken Wood. She is said to live in the Unicorn Grove and is the leader of all the creatures of Darken Wood including the Centaurs that live there and pegasi. The Forestmaster is known to have great wisdom, a deep voice, silver fur covering her body, a single ivory horn comes out of her head, and is is said to be as old as the forest.

Sunstar - A plainswoman that Barlemus rescued from some Baaz. Her people, the Que-Shu, were wiped about by the draconians (or 'demons from the north') and now only she and a man named Raven-eye remain. After being saved by the party, she and Raven-eye returned to the plains in hopes of rebuilding their tribe.

Magpie - A simple Aghar female who is nice to everyone, regardless of how they treat her in return. She helped the party meet with the Highbulp and showed them how to reach the Secret Way. Afterward, she returned to her people to tell them the news of Onyx's demise.

Highbulp Phudge I - The King of the Aghar in Xak Tsaroth. He is very important. Phudge wants the dragon and draconians out of Xak Tsaroth, but is far too cowardly to do anything about it himself.

Raven-eye - A plainsman from the Que-Shu tribe, like Sunstar. He was captured alongside her, but failed to escape and was thus tortured. Gaf, Barlemus, and Amala aided Sunstar in freeing him. After being saved, he and Sunstar returned to the plains in hopes of rebuilding their tribe.

Bestiary

Satyrs - The party encountered a foursome of them in the Darkenwood, partying and drinking Feywine. Marik, Kendra, and Barlemus joined them for a night of revelry. They all woke up together with hangovers, unable to really remember what had happened.

Centaurs - The morning after their drunken revelry with the satyrs, the party found themselves surrounded by eight centaurs who meant business. The Companions wisely surrendered and allowed themselves to be taken (or rather, to ride the centaurs) to the Forestmaster for an audience and some answers.

Huge Spiders - Man-sized spiders that skimmed across the muck in the swamplands surrounding Xak Tsaroth. When Daos fell into the muck, the ripples attracted eight of them. Fortunately, the party fought them off, although Amala was poisoned. Gaf harvested some of their poison for later.

Bozak Draconians - Six of these strange creatures ambushed the party when they tried to cross the ironclaw bridge in the swamps around Xak Tsaroth. When they were killed, they exploded. The party slew all but one of them, who managed to escape with Marik and Daos, taking them prisoner.

Baaz Draconians - These two guards were standing by a wooden bridge when Lirian, Barlemus, and Amala charged them. When they died, instead of exploding, they transformed to solid stone.

Black Dragon - The great black dragon, Khisanth (or Onyx to some), attacked the party just outside the ancient temple to Mishakal. She was merely toying with them, but when she recognized Marik, she unleashed her deadly acid breath. Luckily, the Blue Crystal Staff was able to save him. Later, the party stole the Disks of Mishakal right from under her nose. She attacked them, and Kendra destroyed her by breaking the Blue Crystal Staff against her.

Treasure

Seeker Blade +2 – This enchanted short sword does 1d6+2/1d8+2 damage. Marik claims he stole it from a Seeker in Haven.

Staff of Magius - This polished mahogany staff is topped with a crystal ball grasped in a bronze dragon claw. Its powers are limited only by its user; once the mage learns the staff’s true nature, great power may be summoned.

Legends say the wizard Magius aided Human in his quest to drive dragons from the face of Krynn. Magius’ staff of legend still bears the wizard’s spirit and lends it to save the world Magius loved. Many mages of renown have used this staff and added to its powers.

The staff acts as a Ring of Protection +3. The staff strikes with a +2 to hit, inflicting 1d8/1d8 damage. Once per day, it can create Continual Light, 60’ radius; it can save its owner with a Feather Fall.

When used by a mage of 6th level or higher, the staff doubles spell duration, adds +2 points damage per die rolled, and maintains spells for 1 round after concentration is broken. Other powers may exist.

This staff has hidden powers. Only a master mage can summon them. If a mage of 6th level or higher uses the staff, the DM rolls 1d10. On a 1, a random effect occurs. The DM should select the effect from the list below. Once an effect has occurred 3 times, the mage may attempt to master the power by making a 1/2 Intelligence check.

The following powers cost 1 charge each: Continual Light, Darkness (15’ radius), Detect Magic, Enlarge, Feather Fall, Hold Portal, Protection vs. Evil/Good, Strike at double damage

The following cost 2 charges: Entangle, Jump, Knock, Levitate, Gust of Wind, Magic Missiles (x3), Spider Climb, Telekinesis (25 ft)

The following powers cost 4 charges each. The user must make a CON check or become exhausted for 2d6 rounds, suffering a -2 on al rolls and moving only half rate: Dispel Magic, Feign Death, Fire Shield, Invisibility, Lighting Bolt (6d6 dmg), Locate Object, Paralyze, Summon Swarm

The staff recharges 1 charge per hour in the light of Solinari (up to 8 points per eve). It can carry up to 20 charges.

Great Axe +1 - Gimak's favored weapon, which he claims was blessed by Reorx before the Cataclysm. It does 1d10+1/2d8+1 damage.

Green Blade +3 - This blessed sword with a green blade has been passed down from father to son for generations. It last belonged to Amala's father, before he died. It grants a +3 to hit and damage and deals 1d8+3/1d12+3 damage.

Disks of Mishakal – These are platinum disks 18 inches in diameter. Each disk is 1/16 inch thick. There are 160 of these plates in all. A bolt passes through one side of the plates, allowing each to swivel out and be viewed while keeping the stack together. Each of the plates is engraved on both sides.

Clerics who read this book gain knowledge about the ancient Gods of Light. Any cleric who worships these gods may receive spells as per standard AD&D rules. The book tells them how to worship them and gain true clerical abilities.

Medallion of Faith – This is the symbol of those who worship the true gods. Each medallion magically creates another medallion of faith for clerics of any good alignment who profess faith in the old gods of good. The created medallion bears the symbol of the god that the cleric professes, regardless of which symbol the original bears.

Two Throwing Daggers +3 – These throwing daggers have a +3 bonus to hit and damage.

Gauntlets of Climbing – A pair of light-weight gloves, but they radiate magic. The wearer can have large (human) or small (kender) size hands. These gloves give the wearer a very strong gripping ability with respect to climbing. He can climb vertical or nearly vertical surfaces, upward or downward, with a 95% chance of success. If the character is a thief, the success probability increases to 99%.

Relishan Spellbook – A spellbook with a red cover that once belonging to the elven wizard, Solnac Relishan. It contains the following spells: Wizard Lock, Knock, Levitate.

Medium Shield +1 – A medium shield bearing the emblem of Xak Tsaroth. It has a +1 AC bonus.
