The party wakes up the next morning feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. The patter of light rain can be heard on the roof above them. Despite this, it's a little warmer today than it was yesterday, which makes the air feel sultry and thick.
Gimak is waiting for them in the common area, his gear packed up. "Morning, all," he says with a nod to them. "Ready to ht the Eyrie?"
=============
It is now Ches 11th at Seventh Bell. It is raining lightly.
Drezden spent 5 SP on his room last night. Eringard spent 5 SP on her room last night. Elvarian spent 5 SP on his room last night. Gribben spent 1 GP on his room last night. Maria returned her room key and regained her 1 GP, but then spent 5 SP to share a room with Eringard.
(OOC: Casters may choose new spells for today if they so wish.)

Drezden waves a dwarven salute to Gimak "Good morning Gimak, ready as I'll be but let me see about a plate of eggs before we set off."

Something was bothering Maria since last night. Something that was nagging in the back of her mind. Why had they not encountered the wood woses last night. If they entered the town by the oak tree somehow would they not come back to exit the town without being noticed? The others said that was how they escaped. Assuming that the wood woses were using the net during nighttime, every night since the sickness started, why would they stop now? It made no sense, assuming that the oak tree was there only source of entry and exit into Dagger Falls.....
"Guys I think we should do a more thorough search of the town. We should search for other accesses to the town those creatures could use. I mean why did we not encountered them last night. We staked that tree and yet nothing came in or out of it. Maybe we should take a closer look at the tree itself for clues? Is there any way into Dagger Falls other than the regular route near the inn?"

The innkeeper brings a plate of eggs and ham to Gribben and Drezden, charging 2 silver each. Gimak scratches at his beard as he listens to Maria. "I'm no expert on trees, but it looked like a pretty normal one to me. It wasn't glowing sinisterly or bleeding or something magical like that." He pulls out a scroll from his pack and unfurls it on the table, revealing a map of Dagger Falls. "Picked this up shortly after I first got into town," he says. Looking it over, he says, "Looks like there are two entrances into the town. One is further north."

Drezden speaks while eating eggs "Normal yeah but thats where their druidic magic comes in, I'm sure whatever they did to enter the tree and vanish is one of the druid spells they can use, dunno what spell it is but I'm not that expertly trained yet."

(OOC: Is it true that there were new victims of the disease every night? I do not recall that information)
Eringard had greeted the dawn and said her prayers as usual, then packed up. She leaves the bedroll, the spare clothes, and all rations but two bundled up in her room (changing encumbrance from moderate to light). She joins the others for a light breakfast of bread and cheese.

The innkeeper brings a plate of bread and cheese to Eringard. "That'll be 8 silver," she says. "You folks talking about the dream fever again? Nobody new was infected last night, least not that I heard. But another one vanished."
"Vanished?" prompts Gimak.
The innkeeper says, "It happens sometimes, but it's rare. But now and again, someone will get the dream fever but then a few days later, disappear. Right out of their beds, like they were spirited away. This is the sixth or seventh disappearance now, since this whole mess began. A spinster named Omella, she lives out on one of the nearby farms. Her family woke up this morning to check on her, and she was just gone."

(OOC: People don't get infected every night, no.)
Eringard drops her encumbrance from moderate to light. Her movement rate is now 8 and she suffers no attack penalties.)

Maria thinks about what Drezden said and searches her memory for anything that might be useful in regards to teleporting magic, oak trees and druidic magic. Not her specialty mind you but one never knows.

Gribben- We should go to the farm and investigate before we go back in town. As he eats his breakfast. He will try remember if remembers any druidic spells.

Maria thinks back to all of her lessons, but teleportation is a very advanced subject, and her mother never really got around to broaching it during their lessons. All she knows about druidic magic is that it's a form of divine magic that usually is related to either nature (animals, plants, the weather) or the four elements (fire, earth, water, wind).
The innkeeper thinks a bit. "Let's see...well, the first person to disappear was Eragyn, the Cyricist cleric. After the temple burned down, she was the only cleric in the town since then. She had plans to build a new temple to Cyric, but she never found much of a following here. Right around the time this dream fever stuff started, she vanished. Nobody knows what happened to her."
She continues, "Then there was Hiram the shepherd. He stayed out overnight to watch his flock, and the next day he was gone. Then there was Boront, a dwarven tinker. The third was Franter, one of the Zhent guards. He got drunk, passed out in an alley, and then was never seen again. Next was Marabelle, a housewife. Her little boy, Thorginn, went missing and she was out looking for him, and then she went missing, too. Then finally there was Omella, the spinster."
"All different races, young and old, men and women, just like the fever," comments Gimak. "If there's a pattern, I don't see it."
Gribben thinks back to his time in Silvery Moon. He knew a couple of druids there, and he remembers among the spells they would sometimes use would be one that would enchant berries to heal, one that would cause vines to entangle anyone in the area, and one that let you speak to animals. But that's about it.
He also recalls his studies in the Crown Wars, but nothing particularly helpful comes up.
Gimak asks, "If we go to this farm, exactly what are we looking for then?"

"Which was the farm that Omella lived?" Eringard asks the innkeeper. Does it happen to be the one she and Elvarian went to, where the wolves came? Whatever the answer is, she will share it with the others on their way out.

Drezden scratches his bearded chin "Wolf eh? Maybe we're chasing the wrong things if the girl went missing from the farm that you saw wolves leaving. Maybe we got shapeshifters in the area?"

The innkeeper gives them directions to the farm. It is not the same farm Elvarian and Eringard previously visited. This farm is north of the town, and west of the Red Rock Tavern. The fields are filled with cotton.
An older man in a straw hat with dirty hands approaches them as they look around. He notices this group of strangers is armed and eyes them warily, keeping a tight grip on his pitchfork. "What are you doing on my land?" he asks.
